How many more versions of iOS will the iPhone 6 support?

after a short while you’ll have to daily reject the update proposal, sometimes twice a day and if you are not careful enough you may start it by accident. to avoid this I have set a code on the phone (if you mistakenly start the update it won’t do anything until you enter the code, so in this way you get a chance to abort the upgrade).while being persistent in rejecting the update proposal you can consider the storage space of your iPhone 1GB less. I kept deleting almost daily the over-the-air update files and as soon as I had 1GB free Apple would download it again. There’s simply no way to prevent it from happening. So effectively your storage is reduced considerably.After a longer while (1–2 years) some of your apps will request an OS upgrade in order to install app updates. Not updating apps initially will expose you to some security risks and eventually the apps could stop working because most of them are client type apps connecting to a server (e.g. Whatsapp) which could one day request another minimum client version. (It happened to me on the 1st iPad generation: there was no support for a long time and eventually the builtin youtube app reported that it can no longer reach youtube due to some API version mismatch).
Will iOS7 be compatible with iPod touch 4th generation?
With iOS7 coming out next week, I am wondering whether it will also update the iPod touch 4th generations in my house. Every person in my family has the 4th generation iPod touch, and uses it very often (since everyone, except me, does not have an iPhone). I've seen the compatibility chart for iOS 7, which shows that it will be compatible for the following: ~iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5s, and 5c ~iPod touch (5th generation) 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB ~iPad 2, retina display, and iPad mini. I doesn't say anything about past iPod touches. This worries me because one of my friends had told me that she did not update iOS on her old iPod touch (3rd gen I believe) for the longest time (she thought it cost money), and eventually her iPod became so outdated, it just died. Kaput. Does this mean my family will have to trash our old iPods and buy new ones because they're outdated? NO ONE HAS THAT KIND OF MONEY IN THIS ECONOMY..
If I buy an iPhone 5S now, how long it will continue to get official iOS updates?
The iPhone 5S first shipped in 2013, which makes it a 3 year old piece of hardware for now. Apple generally supports upto 5 year old hardware as we saw for iPhone 4S. So, you can ensure yourself of 2 years worth of updates.Even after that period though, the iPhone is not unusable or slow as most android phones tend to become with age. I have an 8 year old iPod Touch 4th Generation, running iOS 6 and it still works as smoothly as it ran the day I got it. The message here lies, is that the iPhone 5S is still a good buy.But my recommendation to you would be to put it a little more budget and get an iPhone SE, if you're thinking of buying. It is one of the newest iPhones, packing iPhone 6S hardware in the body of the 5S. For the size capability, it is powerful and will ensure an updatability of at least 4 years, maybe even more.

May be by 2022!!Here is how ..Any iPhone will support up to 5 major iOS updates. iPhone 6s was released in 2015 with iOS 9 as a standard. It is already two generations old and is now supporting iOS 11 (released in 2017). With Apple releasing a major iOS update every year, 6s should support atleast 3 more major updates.Means it should be able to support iOS 14 (or however they name it) which will be released in 2020, after which the chipset or hardware of iPhone 6s will not be able to handle the further software updates.So, till 2020 one can enjoy the software updates. After 2020, we might not be able to upgrade the OS but still use the iOS 14 which would be the last supported OS version by 6s.Year by year slowly the apps stop supporting the best possible version of iOS on 6s, which would be iOS 14 in our case. Not all apps have same compatibility. There will be some apps that could support 4 generations old iOS version, while there might be some that would support only a generation old iOS. Depending on the apps we use, we may find that 6s will not be able to support the apps we would require daily.I can surely say that there will be atleast a fraction of people who are going to use 6s in 2022 with a lot of compromises !! I see people who are still using iPhone 4s which is 6 generations old already and there are people who are buying 4 generations old iPhone 5s even today.7 years from the time of release is the best I can think of, before any iPhone gets completely out-dated. This doesn’t mean you cannot use 6s in 2020’s. You can still use it for basic tasks such as calling, texting, mailing, pics etc..It is just that you should not expect 6s to wow you in 2022 or beyond.
Can I get snapchat and other apps on my iphone 3g?
In a sense you are out of luck. there is a way but it it super complicated requiring to ssh into your device editing files and be jailbroken etc super complicated stuff. There is an easier way if you can find older versions of the ipa files (apps) online. Make sure its compatible with 4.2 or above. Good luck
How many years will the iPhone 6 last?
You see, iPhones are much different from Andriods.iOS receives updates every year. And all users update their IPhones every year with the new OS. Its help improve phone performance and bug fixes. (you can use the phone without update, no problem in that. But one theres a problem too. Suppose you use Whatsapp. And your iOS version is 8.0 and suppose Whatsapp Inc. has stopped making there app for iOS 8.0, so you are stuck and not able yo update your Whatsapp and use it. So, you have to update the OS and update Whatsapp. Its not Apples fault. The apps maynot be made compitable with 3 years old OS thats it)Similarly, IPhone 6 will receive updates uptill Sept 2019 and once new OS is released IPhone 6 will not support it. But its not the phone goes switch of from there. You can use it with no diffuculties. Iphone 3GS and IPhone 4 works even today after 7 years with no problems.You can use your IPhone 6 for atleast 5 years. But if important app company like Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter etc stops app making for your last unupdateable iOS, you are f*****.However, IPhone 5s works fine with Whatsapp and its been 4 years priar to its release.It will work for 5 years, i can guarantee that.
