Is coconut oil good to lighten or brighten skin?

Yes!Coconut oil can be great for improving overall skin tone and making your skin appear brighter. However, like many natural oils, improving your skin’s health with coconut oil will take time (at least 30 days to being noticing results) so it’s important to set your expectations accordingly.(Important Note: coconut oil has a comedogenic rating of 4 (coconut oil will likely clog your pores) and can contribute to future breakouts. If you are new to using coconut oil, I suggest massaging a small amount on our jawline and leaving it on overnight for one night. If your skin is fine 3-4 days later, then you’re good to go!)Coconut Oil Brightening/Hyperpigmentation Spot TreatmentCoconut is comprised of compounds that are great at lightening/brightening skin. This includes compounds like essential fatty acids (like lauric acid, myristic acid, and others) and vitamin E. While coconut oil will lighten your skin over time, you’ll want to mix it with a stronger lightening agent (such as lemon juice) if you want faster results. Be careful when using pure lemon juice on your face, however, as it can be harsh and irritating for sensitive skin conditions.Coconut Oil Spot Treatment: Combine ¼ cup of pure, unrefined, raw organic coconut oil with ½ tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice. Massage a tiny amount onto the affected area and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. If you do this every night, you should see results within a week or so.Coconut Oil for Overall ComplexionThe best way to lighten and brighten your skin with coconut oil is to use it as a daily moisturizing body oil. While additives like lemon juice, lavender oil, and other essential oils may speed up the lightening process, daily use of coconut oil will help to prevent future discoloration. Excessive sun exposure, acne, and aging are all common causes of hyperpigmentation and blemishes on the skin. By using coconut oil as a daily moisturizer, your skin will get a daily dose of the essential fatty acids and vitamins it needs to repair itself when damaged.Coconut Oil Body Treatment: Simply massage a ¼ cup of high quality coconut oil onto your body as you would any other lotion or cream. .One last thing! Make sure that you’re using 100% pure (no additives or preservatives), cold-pressed, unrefined, raw and certified organic coconut oil on your face. Why? Because some preservatives, additives, pesticides, and low-quality ingredients can actually irritate your skin.Hope that helps!
