Agree Or Disagree And Why Ebola Is An Experimental Disease

Agree or Disagree? the USA should make a law that anyone coming from an area that has the Zika Virus must go through a 3 day quarantine?

Disagree, I believe the Executive Branch already has the power to quarantine people for health reasons.

The Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services has statutory responsibility for preventing the introduction, transmission, and spread of communicable diseases in the United States. Under its delegated authority, the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine works to fulfill this responsibility through a variety of activities, including

the operation of Quarantine Stations at ports of entry
establishment of standards for medical examination of persons destined for the United States, and
administration of interstate and foreign quarantine regulations, which govern the international and interstate movement of persons, animals, and cargo.

The legal foundation for these activities is found in Titles 8 and 42 of the U.S. Code and relevant supporting regulations.

Agree or disagree: ebola was man made?

The origins of Ebola are unknown, but cases date back to Africa in the 1970s. Cases were rare, and hardly spread, it wasn't until recently that it became a threat. I do not believe people made the virus itself, but it is possible that the mass breakout was intentional.

Was Ebola created by people? I disagree.

Do you agree or disagree with the following, and why?

Totally agree. Excellent article that goes with your question. Thanks so much for sharing that link. I especially liked these quotes: "Terrorists do not "hate us for our freedom." They hate our relentless meddling in the internal affairs of their nations. The problems of the Arab world are not America's to fix. So let us quit trying to fix them.

The people who have no problem with the advancing police state are many of the same people who so harshly criticized France for not joining America in invading Iraq in 2003. France had a terrorist problem at one point. And then they pulled out of Algeria.

The whole business brings to mind the comic strip character Pogo, who once remarked that "We have met the enemy, and he is us."

Such is the case in the War on Terror. It is not "the terrorists" who want to take away our freedom. It is the United States government, aided and abetted by the ignorance and apathy of so many Americans who will gladly trade freedom for security. The German people did this 70 years ago, with grisly results. Let us pray that this does not happen in America. There is no guarantee that it can't.
Right on! Are we awake?! Are we aware? Are we paying attention to what is happening in our country????!!!!!!!!!

Agree or Disagree? Until a cure is found for Ebola. There should be a travel ban on people from the West African countries most affected by?

It wouldn't do any good, people don't have to fly in directly from these countries, than can go elsewhere and head via another country.
There is no way to effect a ban other than shutting down all airports and closing airspace.
That would be economic suicide and could turn a prosperous nation into a third world country in a relatively short space of time, closing for months could take decades to recover.
It would also set a precedence, should America have a bad case of flu one year the whole world could ban them from international travel, again destroying the economy.
Closing borders sounds like the obvious answer until you start looking into it.

That’s a very interesting question which has got me thinking in circles…Of the 4 diseases you’ve listed: AIDS and Ebola are viruses, and asthma and cancer are mixtures of genetic and environmental factors. These are very different thinngs.Cancer, in particular, is also a broad definition, covering more than 100 diseases. It is increasingly thought that there are a variety of types of Asthma as well. For AIDS and Ebola, viruses seem remarkably difficult to cure. Antivirals do exist but they don’t destroy the target virus, they simply stop it working. While Asthma hasn't been completely cured, in many individuals, it’s often controlled to such a high degree that it’s cured in all but name. Some cancers are considered ‘curable’ but many are not. This cure is achieved by destroying the mutated cells that are featuring abnormal growth. But it doesn’t ‘cure’ other cells of doing exactly the same thing again later.Viruses, then, are incurable because science has yet to find a way to take them on.Asthma has an underling genetic component that seems to be triggered by certain environmental stimuli, in ways that aren’t yet understood.Cancer involves cells going wrong at a genetic level during self-replication. We’re nowhere near a way of dealing with that.My knee-jerk reaction to your question was going to be to say something like, “Science will develop cures for all this in due course.”But on reflection, I’m not so sure. Certainly not in the foreseeable future. The processes that we’d need to develop to overcome some of these are so many, that I think it’ll take generations to achieve. In some distant future, when science would appear as magic to today’s eyes, I’m sure they’ll cure them all. In the meantime, your question has led me to a scary one of my own:Why do we assume that all diseases are curable?Sorry I don’t have a decent answer.

I believe you would be better off being in the US military. I tend to agree with Thomas about other militaries and disagree with his assessment of the US military. I have seen, first hand, hygiene methods of another military. In the US military, we are the first to receive any anti-virus, or other, medication, we need in order to protect our country. We are disciplined to use hygienic methods when put in those situations. We carry our own MOPP gear (hazmat or NBC suits) and continually trained to use it. We carry atropine injectors for chemical attack (i.e., nerve agent). In short, the US military is continually trained in all manner nuclear, chemical and biological warfare.I can tell you, with utmost certainty, that our military discipline wound not break down in the conditions you describe. When I was in combat and my unit was isolated, for whatever reason, discipline did not breakdown. The chain of command survived and were return bake to base.My thought, on this matter, is that unless you been in the US military you can’t possibly know the answer to you question, all you can do is take a guess.

Just one small example - We are already doing it with the drug called Naloxene, not in the form of the drug itself being administered on a very rare occasion and as needed basis but on a "being exposed to it everyday scenario" as it is in the drug called suboxone as a deterrent for people from 'shooting the drug" so the people who would never even dream of doing that let alone using a needle suffer by being guinea pigs and exposed to this drug on a daily basis as it is in there medication as a non-active ingredient unless "main lined" which is unfair to the folks who take it accordingly, we shall see what and if there are any side effects to naloxene in the next generation or so.Naloxone Buprenorphine Opiate addicts are in a class of there own and yes, it is unethical especially when buprenorphine is also prescribed and approved by the FDA for pain management as well and an alternative to other opiates. ALL BS!Give them the pure stuff that we know has no future long term side effects of being exposed to it everyday. Most doctors will not though because they get there pockets greased to peddle the stuff with the naloxene in it. Only in America and when I say that I mean it, subutex exist in pure form for same treatment without the naloxene but in the USA the fda only would approve it with a 8mg to 2mg ratio with naloxene.

Nothing beats success like success! Stole that phrase. Nothing beats Alcoholics Anonymous - (AA) - nothing, and they have been trying for centuries. Countless alcoholics have died while trying out other modalities for the treatment of their disease. They have been shocked, soused, confronted, lied to, isolated - you name it and someone has tried it toward “healing” alcoholism. No healing has ever been found. Alcoholism can only be arrested, not healed. Cessation of drinking, total abstinence from drinking is the only way to arrest the disease. And from what we know about alcoholism, the disease progresses even while sober. A person who stops drinking will find that after years of sobriety they are worse if they resume drinking. This is why abstaining from alcohol is para-mount when getting sober and staying that way. AA’s 12 steps and meetings offer the alcoholic support and guidelines toward sobriety. AA suggests everything - everything. Nothing is mandated in AA - you are free and can make your own choices in the program. There are some things that sober alcoholics have learned over the years that they will share with the newcomer if asked. A sponsorship system is suggested to aid the newcomer toward sobriety. Yes, AAs do lean heavily on a “higher power” and newcomers can accept or reject the notion of “God” - but they do so at their peril. The most successful members of AA are those who abstain, go to meetings, get a sponsor, work the 12 steps with a sponsor and get a higher power. Just that simple. You can get sober or die trying - those are your choices in AA. I should know, I’ve been sober through the aid of AA for 36 years. Thank you. Mike M. 1982.

Interestingly the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics predicts the Universe will have an end; there is increasing levels of entropy in the system so it will die a heat death (run out of energy so no heat will exist). What is the Second Law of Thermodynamics? So an end to the Universe means an end to humanity based on simple physics. That appears to be a long time away; but not as long as assumed - “our universe is decaying at an astronomical rate” ScienceDirect.Christian Escatologists use Biblical prophesy to predict the end. Amir Tsarfati points to prophesy which portrays the end as being signalled by ‘the fig tree [Israel] sending shoots out’According to that thinking the key date is in 1948 with the reformation of Israel with the generation that observes this as not passing away before the end.It is not a matter of if humanity will end it is only a matter of when. Everyone will choose a time-scale according to their preference. Which one will you choose?
