Alexandra Or Alexandrina

Alex, Alexis, Alexandra... Sasha?

By favorite is Alexandra because it seems more elegant, probably because it reminds me of the last Czarina of Russia. Alexandrina is pretty as well. Alexandréa is fine, but I don't love the "andréa" ending as much as the others. Alexia and Alexa are okay. At least the "a" at the end sounds somewhat more feminine. I love Sasha as a nickname for any of the longer forms, but I'm not sure how I feel about it as name my itself. It is pretty though.

I strongly like Alex for a girl. As a nickname, I suppose it's fine, although I don't love it. However, as a full name for a girl, it's much too masculine. I have never liked Alexis for a girl, although I love it for a boy (Actually, I love Alexei even more for a boy. It's probably my favorite boys' name right now.) Alexis is again to masculine. I have never liked the sound of Sandra, although it isn't entirely bad. Xandra is slightly better, although I don't love it either. Alexas looks like a misspelling of Alexis, even though it probably isn't.

That was interesting! I hadn't thought about those names so much before. Thank you!

Opinions on the girl name Alexandrina?

It's pretty, but it's too long; I'm a big fan of Alexandra, but Alexandrina just has too many letters in my opinion. However, it's a very elegant and sophisticated name, and regal too - Queen Victoria of England's first name was Alexandrina but she decided to change her name to her middle name, Victoria. I could imagine Alexandrina on a little girl or on a grown woman :)

Does anyone know if there is a Saint Alexandra?

I know, its a weird question. I'm looking to pick that for my confirmation, but I don't know if there is even a Saint Alexandra. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Have a nice day!

What do you think of this name? Alexandrina Victoria?

well, it didn't do Queen Victoria any harm as that was her full name; she was known as 'Drina' as a child.

possibly a bit oldfashioned now?
