What should I do after 10th to do software engineering?

you can either opt for science for 11th & 12th or u may directly select diploma in computer engineering or diploma in IT.if u choose diploma then :It is a 3 year course where emphasis will br given on programming skills rather than maths. Maths will be taught for 1st 3 semesters but that will very basic & easy. Later, most of the subjects will be related to computer hardware & software whereas few will be related to electronics. These subjects will be repeated in degree college with deep knowledge than that of diploma. Since, diploma students start working with computers directly after 10th, they will be having more practical knowledge & more understanding of a computer program than those doing 11th & 12th. But this difference during degree can be seen only during the 2nd year. Later, all the students will be equally eligible. If u choose 11th & 12th science then :Since, I was a diploma student, whatever I m going to discuss further is based on the discussions with my friends who have completed their 11th & 12th in science.Choose PCM(physics, chemistry, maths). Then u will have to appear for JEE main, JEE advanced, or MHTCET (please confirm about these exams). Most of the coaching classes provide a 2 year package i.e. for both 11th & 12th. But their fees are too high !!! If u can study for junior college + JEE main/JEE advanced/MHTCET(please confirm about these exams) yourself without any classes, then that's great !!!Engineering Degree is a 4 year course. After diploma, u will be admitted directly to the second year whereas, the junior college students will be admitted to 1st year. Thus, both diploma as well as the junior college students have to dedicate (I mean waste) total 6 years for engineering after 10th.For diploma students : 3years in diploma & 3 years in degreeFor junior college students : 2 years in junior college & 4 years in degree.According to me, computer engineering or Information Technology are the 2 options if u want to be a software engineer because their syllabus is almost same.

What subject should I take after 10th for a fashion designer career?

Ideally you could choose anything- science, commerce or arts- for your 11th and 12th. Since becoming fashion designer means you have to apply to design schools after 12th, it doesn’t matter what stream you choose. Most design schools have the admission criteria as- 50% marks in 12th in ANY stream and then they require you to give their admission tests and pass those with great marks. However, choosing science or ever commerce would mean you have to attend classes for a majority of your time and getting marks becomes difficult which means that you might have to join some sort of coaching or tuitions too. This takes up a lot of your time whereas you should ideally be focusing on building your portfolio. Portfolios should not be taken lightly. So I would suggest you take arts, since you won’t have to wasted a lot of time in classes. And in the mean time, focus on building a portfolio and also take up some coaching to help you crack the admissions. All the best! Also since you are interested in fashion, maybe you should check out my fashion blog since it may be of some interest to you.Fashion And Lifestyle Blogger | Pune | Gloss and Glaze

Sometimes, I look at other kids my age and wonder what I'm doing in my life. I'm not rich; I get good but not outstanding grades; I'm fairly talented in art and languages but don't plan to pursue a career in either. Any advice?

Don’t be in a rush to find your career path. If you are in matric or close to finishing high school, go into a field you are good at and do not hate. You can still change it in University like I did. With time you will understand yourself better or start liking that field. Otherwise consider entrepreneurship or other streams that you find interesting. There are many paths to success.Outstanding grades don’t always mean success. Some people have good grades but no direction or lack motivation to work hard. People who succeed are those who are willing to put in the effort for what they want and know what they want.Being rich does not necessarily mean someone is happy or fulfilling a desired purpose. Find what you are passionate about or good at; pursue that and success will follow.

I am weak in science and maths. What should I take after 10th standard?

Firstly, you need to know that you are weak in science and maths because you have never tried learning it. Just because everyone says that science and maths are difficult subject, you have also started assuming that they are difficult and you won’t be able to do it.Now from the question you have asked I think you can take Biology, Commerce, Arts or Humanities. But if you really want my advice, I think you should stick to science. Please let me explain. You need to realise that maths and science are not alien subjects that only few students in the world are able to understand it. The only difference is maths and science demands time. That’s all. Just because all the students want to run away from studies, when it comes to giving time to maths and science they start giving excuses like the subject is too difficult or I am just weak at this subject. I think everyone should study science and maths till their 12th class because these two subjects force you to devote time to studies, they help in increasing your sitting power, they force you to use your mind, they for you to think critically but the most important reason is that maths and science till 12th is the basic maths and science which you are going to use in your daily life throughout your life. So why not study it and understand it. You need to know science and maths gives you the freedom to choose a different field even after your 12th. Let me give you my example- I did science and maths till 12th. I tell you it was not easy for me. After my 12th I just knew that I didn’t wanted to be an engineer and so I studies business studies. But it was in my college that I realised that maths is even used in commerce or any other field. My knowledge in maths from 11th and 12th actually gave me an upper hand in my business studies course.I am not saying that doing maths and science in your 11th and 12th will be easy. It is going to be a bit difficult and that’s why not everyone is able to do it. But I can promise you that you will have an option to change your field after 12th but the knowledge you will get in your 11th and 12th, will be useful to you throughout your life.Stay Awesome, Stay Amazing

What are some good career backup plans if a student is not able to complete the CA course?

This question might hurt anyone (even you) who is doing Chartered Accountancy. Frankly speaking their is no any other profession who compete with CA in commerce field. But not everyone is interested (including me).Few months back, I had the same question, I did not found anything except some so called “graduation degrees”, but I didn't want to continue with Accountancy or taxation related. But I had no any other option because I have commerce in 12th.I can't opt B.Sc, I can't opt Computer Science, I can't opt BCA (because I choose economics instead of maths in 12th). I was like I did a biggest mistake to choose commerce. But..Last but not the least, I have some prior knowledge about Computer programming, so, I decided to start with programming. I asked my mum that I don't wanna continue with CA because I lose my all interest but she denied. So, I sit for IPCC examination and thank fully I cleared my both groups, then/now articleship. I am doing articleship in front of my mum and family but I am running my own software development company and I am pretty much happy with that!Well, do what, what you want! Not for backup plans. Here are some more suggestions alternatives for CA.

Are you proud of your nationality or do you want to change it?

Being proud about your nation is one thing and changing your nationality is another. Let me put things into perspective. I was born and brought up in India. I am lucky enough to have lived in London, New York, Mexico, Hong Kong and currently living in Amsterdam. I had the opportunity to visit or travel for business to 16 other countries. Do I miss my country? Yes. Do I love my country? Hell yeah! Do I want to give up my nationality? Absolutely Yes. I may be frowned upon for saying this, but, I wouldn't blink an eye if I am being offered a EU or US or HK or SG or UK Citizenship. My belief: The love for one’s own country should not have any bearing on which place you want to settle for good. I love India for sure but if I weigh up the options: better standard of living, better opportunities, more pay, good work life balance, less pollution, fresh produce, better commute, ease of living and the spending and purchasing index and ease of travel for vacations, living in the USA or EU with US or EU passport stands out. With the Indian passport I cannot travel to many countries, unlike my colleagues who just need to book a flight ticket. For an Indian passport we would need to take care of logistics before we can proceed to travel and please do not forget the undervalued Indian Rupee, if you convert everything into USD or EUR everything sounds scarily expensive.Let me reiterate, money is not everything. My sister went to the best of the school, college and university in India, went onto pursue Masters from one of the very best universities in the USA, lives in the USA and has become the citizen of USA. After putting in all the hard work over the years to get you a good life, will you throw it away in the name of Citizenship or for the love of your nationality?Living here in Amsterdam, I had visited 14 countries in EU in the last 10 months and plan to cover the whole of Europe in another 2 years. The pay is good and the Schengen Visa gives me the freedom to travel. The quality of life is good and happiness index is great. I wish to live here for the rest of my life.Let me conclude by saying, I love my country to death and that would never change, but I will change my citizenship if I am getting best opportunities with the adopted country and would still continue to love the country of my birth.

Can I do polytechnic after class 10?

I think i am very much qualified to answer this question. Yes, you can but only if you have your priorities clear.I did polytechnic right after class 10. It will be little difficult cuz you will be learning a technical curriculum right after school. But nothing to be worry about. After my diploma i got into Assam Engineering College through lateral entry examination.Right after 8th semester i got placed in ONGC as an assistant technician ( i can apply for this post as i have diploma). But after 3 months, in a campus interview (the campus interview was held a bit late in our college) i got placed in OIL India ltd ( as an executive). So i quickly resigned from ONGC and joind OIL.So if you are confident enough and have your priorities clear you can do polytechnic right after 10. Its a road less taken, but definitely one can take it .All the best.

What are the studies of O-Level and A-Level?

I am myself in O levels. I read the answer, and I just wanted to clear this that subjects do matter in different countries. Here in Pakistan, first O levels exam happens in the age of 16 after 10th grade, of 3_4 subjects because 3 are compulsory and 1 is optional.Subjects are Pakistan studies ( including geography and history), Urdu language, Islamiat ( religion study or any other religion which is practiced in that school). and the optional one is either environmental management, sociology or additional mathematics. Additional mathematics is the one which is not included in first year of exam, which makes 3 compulsory subjects.(But subjects also matters in different schools within a same country)In the 2nd year of O levels, English, Mathematics, sciences,(computer or biology), business studies and arts are the subjects for which you have to appear in CIE exam.In three years O level study completes, but you have to appear in exam in just two years, first year is just for better understanding, other two years are for exams. After your journey through O levels, you get a degree after which you could attend A levels. In A levels there are just three to four subjects those are, if choose:Medical field then Physics, Chemistry and Biology.Engineering field then Computer, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.Business field then Business studies, Economics, Accounts and Mathematics.A levels, completes in 2 years after which University is the only option!:)But if you wanted to know about how is study of O and A levels, then I should say that you have to focus a lot and should do hardwork to get A* but Books are very informative and are very beautifully designed that they will surely help you to do well.Students have to cooperate with teachers and should aim of achieving high by practicing answers from past papers! I repeat past papers are really important in O and A level study. One more thing in O and A level, their is not the concept of, “ratta” I mean just memorising. Students have to understand their concepts and should not miss the lectures to not get in trouble. Students should also join Academy or tuition if their concepts are not clear but their is no need for academy if teachers are good in making students understand the concepts. Book reading is also very much compulsory like attending lectures!Good luck! :)
