Am I A Good Singer - Help

Am I A Good Singer?????????

You definitely have potential although you were a bit flat in some places. You're still young and for someone as young as you are, you're still pretty damn good. I suggest singing lessons. Keep it up! :)

How do I know if I am a good singer?

Record yourself and if you don't think you are good; go on youtube and watch singing advice videos. They reallyyy help. Watch as many as you can and always warm up! Drink tea often and hydrate your vocal with water for the best performance. Sit up straight and breathe through the diaphragm. Try your best in breath control, (faster breath - higher notes etc) and pay attention on how you sing! If you're doing something wrong recognize it, if you're doing something good recognize it. That way you'll know how to achieve the notes properly and it must be comfortable! If you're uncomfortable singing any notes than you're doing it wrong! Practice as much as you want (no less than 2 hrs a day) every single day! You will improve trust me. Never push notes or tense up ever! You have to be relaxed and realize that sometimes you can't reach a note and thats fine. I use to think my highest note was e5 (about 3 years than was my highest) until recently I could hit 6 notes above that! You have to consistent and if you're really passionate about it don't give up.

Why are so many good singers short, does that help them with good pitch?

By being close to the ground, sound can reflect off the floor rather than simply spreading out. This serves to amplify the sound. Also, when singing on a stage with the orchestra in the pit, it allows the singer to be closer to the orchestra.(#sarcasm)Height is irrelevant.

Can a bad singer become a good singer?

Yes, definitely a bad singer can become a good singer. Nobody is born with talent, it takes good amount of time and efforts to excel at anything. Steps to become a good singers are quite simple but it’s a long process.Get voice training regularlyYour voice needs training just like any other sport. Vocal training is a must if you want to become a good singer.Know your rangeRange differs from person to person, few tend to have high range and other low but everybody has that one spot where they sound perfect. You can play piano and sing along to know your range. Start from high to low.Focus on your breathBreathing is another important factor which adds. Make sure you take deep breaths before singing a line. Breathe in through your belly not your chest.Learn proper singing postureMost professionals suggest standing rather than sitting while singing the song. As sitting collapses your muscles and hinders your breath.Warm up before you singWarming up before you sing should be most important part of your daily routine.Learn to recognize the pitchBest way to do so is by singing along while playing keys on piano.Practice singing dailyThe more you sing, the stronger your voice becomes. Remember, your voice is a muscle that needs to be exercised. You can check StarClinch for further reference. They have over 17000 artists registered on their profile, you can check out their profiles and videos. And when you become a singer, you can register there for free. They have all the major artists onboard.I wish you luck for your journey ahead.

Could I be a good singer if I'm a good whistler?

Well I've been in this business for more years that I wish to admit to, but this is the first time someone's come up with a question I have never heard before and now you've made me curious. In fact I might even use this as part of my Seminar next year., So here goes my best shot on answering your question through anatomical knowledge and through the physics of sound. To sing one must have good expellation of air and that air should be controlled evenly through the use of the pectoral muscles. If your a whistler then you must have good air control and lung capacity, probably better than some singers, logically THAT MEANS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HOLD A NOTE. To whistle you need to perse your lips tightly or loosely, so that the air coming through the lips causes the lips to vibrate and the vibration is in actual fact a note. A singer tightens or loosens the vocal ligament within the Larynx to vibrate a note. A singer cannot perse their lips to sing as we have to articulate words. THAT MEANS IF YOU CAN ARTICULATE AS WELL AS YOU WHISTLE YOU CAN SING. Now the brain has muscle memory on every note you have every heard. When we are scared, we tighten muscles and a high note comes out. If we are drunk we have no muscle tension so only low notes come out. So if you have the brain/muscle memory for whistling notes - YOU WILL HAVE GOOD PITCH AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO SING. But the answer lies in the doing. and the knowledge of the best muscles to use for Expellation of air and the contraction of the vocal ligament. something which even a natural singer has to learn. So bottom line is,,,you should be more than a reasonable singer but you may have bad muscle habits that could cause laryngeal trauma if you were a full time professional singer. A casual singer? yeah, you can sing. Oh I did enjoy working that out. Thanks for the opportunity to answer

Good singing exercises to help me sing better?

I love to sing!!! I am scared to sing in front of a lot of people but i will sing in front of a few of people! My mom's boss is not doing well right now and so we don't have enough money for singing lessons and i cant play any instruments and i don't know anyone who can play an instrument but i really want to be a singer so does anyone have some tips or exercises that i can do regularly to help me sing better so i can achieve my dream?

How do I become a good singer if I have no natural talent for it?

Thanks Srishti Yadav for the A2A.I am not really a singer but I understand music a little and will try my best to answer this question.First of all you need to understand when you sing, what is right and what is wrong. To be able to identify if you are singing the right notes or not is the most important thing to begin with. And for that you will need someone to at least guide you a little. Singing classes might be a good option.Secondly, practicing without an instrument is waste. There is a reason why people use Harmonium or Keyboard while taking lessons. So you need that, but I understand that it's not easy to learn an instrument too. So we have few options: We have a lot of mobile apps for this purpose only. https://play.google.com/store/ap... https://play.google.com/store/ap...You can sing along with it. Tabla helps you stay in beat and Tanpura helps you stay in scale. So Tanpura will play notes 1-5-1. You should read music theory to understand how this actually works.I won't write in detail about music theory since it is a huge topic in itself.Thirdly, you should understand that everybody has a comfortable scale/octave at which he/she sings best. You should find that scale and practice all the songs you like at that scale only. For example: Late Jagjit Singh was best at lower notes and singing ghazals at low scales. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan does justice to songs at higher scales. And Arijit Singh sings best in medium octave. You should find octave suitable to you.Fourthly, don't hesitate. That's the most important thing which doesn't allow people to improve. You will listen a lot of comments about your singing but then you will improve and people will shut up and then they will comment again but for good. And lastly, have faith and keep practice. Nothing is impossible. Even if few things are, singing is not one of them. It is a skill and can be learned. If you want, you can send your recordings to me, and I will give my honest feedback to help you proceed in the right direction. PM if you need any help :)Hope this helps to an extent too!
