Am I A Good Soccer Player How Can I Improve

What is a good drill to help a 12 year old soccer player improve his very short distance sprint speed (10-20 yards)?

First and foremost, you should worry about your ability on the ball. But of course, agility and speed are important aspects of the game so it's smart to get ahead of the curve.  Also, it's important to consider the nature of the game when it comes to speed and quickness. You aren't training to be a wide receiver that basically explodes in one direction from a standing position because soccer is far more dynamic. That's why I find the box to be one of the most effective agility drills for soccer; Improve Agility With Skills-Based Drills, Part 2: The Box Drill and T-DrillYou can use the exact instructions from the video or you can vary it to suit your needs(ex. Switch up shuffle with karaoke or switch back pedal for high knees). The basic concept is a small box that forces you to change direction, stay in motion, and accelerate at the end. My advice would be to always finish on a sprint. You can time yourself on this and easily track your improvement. This agility test is used across many sports across many levels. But I'd still recommend that you polish your skill with the ball before diving into agility and conditioning at age 12 :)

Do you need to be able to juggle to be a good soccer player?

You don't necessarily need to be able to juggle to be good in soccer, but juggling teaches you to be quick on your feet and stay on your toes.

IF you want to learn how to juggle start off one day and tell yourself that you will hit the ball five times when you are juggling, then tell your self that you can't stop until you get five. Then raise it up everyday. Good luck :)

Im a soccer player, do I need to work out my legs?

Even though you are a soccer player and your legs are in great shape, you should still be doing other exercises that you wouldnt normally do in soccer. You want to work on every part of your body and that is how you will become the best soccer player.

Most importantly you need to be working to become a better Soccer player each and every single day. If you think you’re “good enough” you’re wrong. Make a commitment to improve in some way every day and you will be on the road to Soccer success.

If you want to become better you should be looking to improve all areas of your game not just a select few: Technical Skill, Physical Fitness, Mental Toughness, and Tactical Understanding.

First of all you need to start training on your own - work to improve the basic ball skills, dribbling, shooting, passing, and ball control. Example: Dribble a ball around the house, practice your passing and shooting on a wall for 10 minutes a day.

Work to improve your fitness: strength, power, speed, acceleration, endurance, and flexibility. Example: every second day do 50 push ups, 100 squats, and 50 sit ups .... go for a run every morning, gradually increasing your speed each time.

Next you need to always give your best effort on the field. Remember you only have one chance to play that game so leave it all out there. Make a promise to yourself to be the hardest working player on the field, every time you step on the field.

You should also start watching professional Soccer at least 1 game per week, you can learn so much from pros. Don't just watch the ball, watch specific players and watch what they do both on and off the ball.

If you’re really serious about seeing those improvements your talking about pick up my Free Training Guide and complete the Beginner training program at the end of the book. I promise if you stick to it and give your best effort each day you will see changes in your game. You can get that Free Training Guide as well as weekly tips and updates by filling out the form on the right side bar of my website, I will post the link in the resource box.

I want you to write back after you have completed the program and tell me about your improvements. Best of luck and keep me posted on your progress.

How to improve stamina for football ( soccer ) ?

Hi everyone. I am a 15 year old football player. Football is my life, I try to involve it in everything. So basically there is this extremely important local tournament that is sponsored by La Liga.. the ACTUAL La Liga so it s very important. During the tournament some scouts look for good players and then those players get tested to join an elite team, pretty much like the NFL combine. My main aim is to be able to join the team but I cannot do it with my current stamina. I have a very toned body, I am actually the fastest student in my school but I just don t know what s wrong. I always move around during PE class while playing and I don't get as tired. Before the tournament I went to the gym and used the treadmill for about 30 minutes everyday ( running only ) hoping to improve my stamina but nope. When I played in that tournament last year, I was VERY VERY nervous and that somehow made me lose my breath very quickly. While playing I was already out of breath after literally one sprint. I was struggling very hard for the rest of the game. I am pretty sure it has to do with how much I always get nervous. What s weird though is non of my teammates have the same problem, they all seem to be fine even though my friend was as nervous as I am. I have no health issues at all. Can someone please help me ?

How can I become a better soccer player?

I feel you. I also want to go pro and so far it looks good.
I think this is what we all need! determination, skills, time, hope, and some luck! Lol. Because theres so many of us. Im 16 as well, born in mexico but live in cali, i play in a club also. Its not that hard when you think about it, if you love the sport you wouldnt mind practicing everyday and really its all about practicing 24/7 i started playing when i was 8, theres guys in the club that have been playing since they were 3 and at diff clubs and camps i gotta admit thats intimidating sometimes lol. Every now and then people come see us play, we play in a league were mls clubs play and chances are everywhere. I come from what we call street soccer, never played in a club only local leagues and schools with friends, so i play different and they might hate me for that because i get peoples attention... Also practice practice practice!!!! When the rest of the players are resting you practice! My dad always says "he who dares to do the unthinkable will succeed" in soccer it fits perfect, that does not mean you should be cocky, and ballhog and showoff! What it means is to THINK! Be a smart player, observe. its all about taking chances if that decision does not come out right tooo ******* bad!!! But hear this, Teams would rather take players who try, it shows they have potential, If teams want a good player theyll take the one who takes chances even if he misses, why? Because eventually he wont miss!!! Be aggressive, a leader, be confident in what you do, be amotivator, commited, take chances and most important be humble because who wants an asshole on their team? Lol. I hope it helps i know it helped me alot in becoming a better player.

I am not good at playing football. How can I improve myself?

This is from my personal experience!Practise. Its all about the kind of hardwork you put itn.I used to fail miserably in kicking the balls, I didn't know how to 'punch', how to 'ping', how to 'swirl', 'knuckle balls', etc. Nothing. I couldn't do anything, but then there was an inner drive, which always wanted to become better and I was very much motivated by it.I used to practice alone, no particular timing, I used to hit the terrace late at night around 1am, early in the morning 4am, deep into noon 2pm, like no schedule, I just wanted to improve, I just knew that if I practice everyday, it might be of help, I wasn't even sure it would.I used to be the first one to visit the ground, I used to play alone, anything from hitting thw ball to juggling, anything, I would just be there befor anyone else and I would practice.I am a big, big, big, might be the biggest fan of Cristiano Ronlado, so I watched his videos all along, and many more, I always tried doing tricks and stuffs, learning from him and others.(I still do this and I'll keep on doing this, always)I just kept on doing what I did.And then I realised how I have grown so much. Now, when I play, people look upto me and they want me in their team.So that's how you imporve, invest tim, dedicste yourself, work when no one is watching, work when everyone is watching, work for youself and not to show off, you'll improve.Watch videos of your favourite players, aspire to play with them, and watch football, listen to the talks after the game, it all culminates to one thing - IMPROVEMENT.Trust yourself, work hard.Have fun with what you are doing. :)Good luck.
