I'm old fashioned. I like slow dances, walks on the beach or cliffside sunsets, giving girls flowers, singing to them and writing poetry. Am I weird?
None of your “old fashioned” tastes sounds “weird” on first presentation. But what can be discerned from such a superficial description? Hardly anything.Do you like slow dancing because dancing in a pool of molasses makes it hard to jitterbug?As you enjoy walking on the beach, do you search meticulously for washed up alien spacecraft?As you gaze at the sunset from a cliff top, do you picture the sun bouncing up and down on the horizon before rolling off the edge?When you give flowers, do you give dozens of long-stemmed flowering fruit trees in their pots from your own nursery?Do you sing songs in bardic praise of your greatest adventures, whether in love, philosophy, or plumbing?Is your poetry like all of the above? That is, undaunted, painstaking, imaginative, nascent, and original?Anything can be weird. Some things are better that way.
