Am I Automatically Dq

STD as a navy disqualification?

I have read online from other yahoo answers that you can be disqualified for stds in the military. in late january i had unprotected(condom ripped) sex, i was tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia both tests came back negative, i am in the process of being tested for genital herpes and genital warts and all the others. i have already been to meps and am scheduled to leave for boot camp within the next 2 months. i do not know whether i have a std or not i am curious and want to know now whether or not i have anything.

so my question is, if i have genital warts or herpes am i automatically DQ'd???? off of the military website i found this
"(7) Penile infectious lesions, including herpes genitalis and condyloma acuminata, acute or chronic, not amenable to treatment. Such treatment must be given and demonstrated effective prior to accession. " i dont understand what that means????

the website also said Remember that most of these conditions are NOT necessarily permanently disqualifying, but they are red flags" so i what i am asking is if i have a STD(other than AIDS/HIV) am i DQ'd????

here is the website i found that from http://www.military.com/Recruiting/Content/0,13898,rec_step07_DQ_medical,,00.html

Have the issues with the Volkswagen DQ200 Automatic 7 Speed DSG transmission been fixed now?

Hey. Thanks for the A2A. :) The 7 speed DSG is used in the following combinations. Now. The problematic gearbox was the DQ200 one. Which does duty in the VW Polo GT TSI, Vento TSI, Skoda Ovtavia TSI, Skoda Superb TSI as of now. There's two issues with them. 1. Mechatronic Failure :-In this a vehicle will not move even when in D mode. 2. Multi Clutch Assembly :-This is like when any manual car needs a clutch replacement. You can still use your car and it'll take a long long time for it to stop working. Anyways, one should get it repaired ASAP. Now. The issues with these cars is such that because of our humid conditions and stop start traffic. The gearbox gets hot and causes too much stress for itself. Solutions to it :-1. Whenever you're at a signal or a toll or somewhere you've to stop for more than 10 - 15 seconds, instead of stopping and pressing the brakes in D. Shift the gear knob to N and engage the handbrake. So that there's 0 stress on the box. Some may suggest you shit to P but that's not advisable as incase someone rear ends you, it'll cause damage to the Park pin. In N no such issues. So follow this practise. 2. The manufacturers claim that a gearbox oil change is recommended around 60,000 kms or so. But in the manual it also states that if you're driving conditions are humid and also have stop start traffic one must get it done earlier. I suggest get it done every 20,000 kms. I do the same. And lastly, the gearbox may seem like a weak link in the car to you. But believe me it's maddening. It shifts gears in 8 milliseconds. It gives mileage as good as a manual if not more. These TSI engines coupled with a dual clutch transmission are pure gems. Also, don't forget that the gearbox issue is known to VW too. So incase anything goes wrong most of them replace it for free even if your car's not in warranty. As it is is bloody expensive. They know the issue and replace it if needed. But also go for extended warranty if you don't plan to modify your vehicle. I wanted to modify it so extended warranty was useless for me. Hope it helps. You'll love owning one. :) P. S. - Even the Bugatti has a similar gearbox. Audis and Lamborghinis too. They can't go wrong. Relax and enjoy your ride. :D

Can an autistic person become a therapist?

Well, therapists have to have certain strengths, one of which is difficult for people with autism, an outward show of empathy. Note that I didn’t say that people with autism don’t have empathy - they do - but it’s difficult to see outward shows of it from some people with autism. Then, they must be comfortable setting goals and boundaries - you can’t be a client’s friend, you must sometimes tell them things they definitely don’t want to hear and you have to bear treatment from them that wouldn’t go well between friends. You would need a social work degree at probably the master’s level to be a therapist, and that’s not an easy thing to do. I’m in that major now, and you have to learn a lot.History and policyMental health information/person-centered reporting/person-in-environment information (including cultural studies)Interviewing - you have only seconds to make a first impression and seem helpful, and an hour or less to sell someone on the potential to solve a problem and get them to come back (if you intend to go into some kind of private practice.)Years of internships and volunteer workAnd then the hard stuff - the actual framework in which you intend to provide therapy (there are many, and each is their own experience.)I don’t think that Asperger’s (it’s high-functioning autism here) necessarily limits a person from learning and implementing all of this, but I do think that it’s possible that they would find another career better suited to the strengths that autism gives them. There are helping careers that are exceptionally well suited to fine detail work and the excellent memory that evinces in some manifestations of autism: case work, for instance, another social work field, might be their cup of tea. That would be fewer one on one meetings and a lot more paperwork. Or they could specialize in grant writing. There are very few interviews in that.

Will this Disqualify me from becoming a Police Officer?

Admitting to stealing from your workplace is not a lie. Your admitting to doing it and for a polygraph test your answer will be truthful.

However, this issue will be addressed in your background investigation and subsequent interview. As stated above me, honesty is the best policy. Granted you were not caught and you have since stopped stealing from your employer, it may disqualify you.

This question is for cops only?

It is possible to still qualify to be an officer. Remember though there are lots of things you can do to help people, if the police field doesn't pan out, don't quit that great motivation you have. Something you might want to do is talk to people you know and find a friend of a friend how knows someone in a large police department. Once you have a contact, talk to this person and get a feel for what they think about your background. You may also want to do a ride along with them, do a college internship, things like that to help you become familiar with law enforcement and them with you.

I mean no disrespect with this but did you ever see the TV show "Monk"? This is a show about a detective with OCD. Here is a link, http://www.usanetwork.com/series/monk/

Good luck to you.

A police department will disqualify applicants if they have smoked weed within 3 years. I smoked 2 years ago. Should I still apply?

You ask "A police department will disqualify applicants if they have smoked weed within 3 years. I smoked 2 years ago. Should I still apply?" What you should not do is lie. Don't go into it thinking you will get away with it. Smoking some weed a few years ago isn't a big deal, but any lie on your application is. Let me tell you a little story. A friend of mine wanted to be a police officer. Around here it's two years. He had smoked weed, almost two years ago, so he just said no. Then he got scheduled for his polygraph test. He knew he was going to lie on it, and that two year deadline was getting close. He knew the exact date. So he called out sick that morning. If you are sick you won't get good results, so you are supposed to call if you are sick. They rescheduled him, it's a normal thing, happens all the time, no problem. They rescheduled him to the day before two years. He didn't think he could get away with claiming to be sick again, and it was just one day, so he went in and lied. He failed the polygraph and was disqualified. Talking to the person who administered the test, he admitted that he knew why he didn't pass. The examiner told him that if he had admitted it and passed the test with a modified question, he would have been hired.I know plenty of people who have passed the polygraph for other jobs, with an admission that they smoked it at some point, myself included. "Other than the incident you have disclosed, have you used any illegal drugs within the past X years?" "no". "Ok we are good here." I had to sign a statement every year for the next several years saying I hadn't done it again and wasn't going to do it. Boring paperwork.
