Am I Considered Model Pretty

Do you consider yourself pretty?

If anybody would have asked me this question 3 years back, I would have died out of sheer embarrassment.I used to be probably the most shy, introvert, unconfident person alive till 20 years of my life. It was pathetic. I have cried my eyes out. I used to hate my face, my body, my mere existence. If there would have been any measurement tool or a scale that could measure self esteem, it would have captured it to be in negative, I guess. And the credit goes to my overflowing, ever-enthusiastic hormones, that resulted in facial and body hairs. I was ashamed of myself. I avoided making eye contacts during conversations.Like every parent out there, I was a beautiful daughter for my mom and dad, I still am. But somehow I wasn't beautiful for myself. I wasn't feeling it. I had a moustache which was prominent enough to catch attention. I was dying everyday. Necessarily because my parameters of beauty like most of the teenagers was a beautiful face and a perfect sexy and hot body, which I never possessed. It took me whole of my teenage and more to realise that beauty is what resides inside not outside. That this face and body will show the signs of aging but my thoughts won't. That my thoughts are beautiful and that is what makes me beautiful.I am not saying that I am perfect but I know that I am perfectly fine the way I am. And when I look back, I see a journey. A journey that inspires me. A journey that makes me “ME” today. A journey that is mine. And when I see myself in the mirror everyday, I don't feel ashamed, I don't feel embarrassed. I derive confidence and I am comfortable in my own skin.Hence,I am not just beautiful, I am even hot and sexy at times.

Must you have straight teeth to be a model or considered pretty?

No. Infact a trend with models right now is having a gap between your teeth, some even have overbites. Take a look at models like Lindsey Wison, and Georgia Jagger. Thre teeth are not perfect, they have a gap. And plenty of beautiful women don't have straight teeth infact I would say most don't. If a dentist says you don't need them mbelieve him. Now, I would say most teens get them, even if their teeth aren't bad, so I would say you are probably the only one who notices that they are not straight.

Am I considered pretty?

It doesn't matter what you look like now. It'll matter later in life (HIGH SCHOOL and beyond!!) I was "ugly" in elementary school. In fact, when I was in 5th grade, I got someone to go tell this guy I had a crush on that I liked him, and he said "She is f**** ugly!" I cried my eyes out!!!! But in college, I will admit my looks changed for the better and I've dated some very very attractive men in my time!

Whats considered model material?

i know most models are very distinct in their looks. and you obviously need to be tall and thin but necessarily pretty.
i think i have distinct features, well more than anyone else i know or have seen.
i have freckles and beauty marks on my face. im tall for my age im 16 and i would say im 5'8 and im 125 pounds. and i have long healthy hair.

Why am I considered "not beautiful"?

I know what you are talking about. I mean, people are more likely to say Beyonce is beautiful than Queen Latifah. But if you really look at them they _are_ both beautiful.

I really think that part of it is what people are trained to think, through the media and the other cultural influences around them. But I do think that's only part of it.

Apparently a lot of what people find attractive has to do with symmetry and proportion. The width of your lips should have a certain ratio with the width of your face and the width of your nose. This proportion (the "divine" proportion) can be found in people of all races. It's actually really interesting. This is all shown in the very funny and informative documentary "The Human Face".

My features don't follow the "beauty" proportions either. My mouth and nose are actually too tiny for my face. Too tiny or too big, it doesn't really matter as long as it's not the right proportion.

Check out the websites below. They have to do with proportion and beauty and show some of the ideas that are in the documentary.

Am I pretty enough to model? Or am I too ugly and fat?

There is a runway modeling casting call in my area, and I want to try out, but am too afraid that I am way too ugly to even be considered. Can you help out and tell me whether or not I could be a model?
