Am I Eligible To Work In Any Other Country

How do I immigrate to a foreign country?

I currently live in the United States and I would like to immigrate to a country in Europe preferiably Germany since I am learning to speak Gernan. I don’t hate America thats not why I want to leave. I know its extremely complicated to switch countries but I would like to know what requirements I need to meet to move to another country. How do I move to a foreign country?

Could I freely move to and work in any other EU country if I am a permanent resident of Germany?

That would depend on what kind of permanent resident permit you have.If you have a Niederlassungserlaubnis, then the answer is no. Your permit is only valid in Germany. You might visit other Schengen area countries as a tourist. But if you want to move to another EU country, you would have to start the immigration process in that country again. If you have the permit for Daueraufenthalt-EU you might obtain residence in another EU country provided you find a job there. So that permit would give you the freedom of movement an EU citizen has.

"you must be eligible to work in X" country means you Must have your working visa already sorted? or that you are admissible to apply?

You must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of that country, or hold legal authorization to work without any restrictions, to apply for that job. You could not, say, be on any student visa since all student visas severely restrict or outright prohibit working.

In other words, the employer cannot or will not apply for any employment visa, and is not qualified or willing to consider any foreign applicants. Due to so many people trying to work abroad, vast numbers of employers now state right in an ad that applicants must be authorized to work in that country. No way that employer can or will get anyone any visa. And no way that employer is going to provide any international relocation, either. You'd really need to be legal to work without any restrictions, and legally residing in that country, too.

What are some of the easiest countries to get work visas for with US citizenship?

It's not that 'people from other countries don't like it when US citizens try to travel the world', it's just that without a good degree (or for a few countries, trade qualifications) in an occupation in which the country has a skill shortage, you will find it absolutely impossible to emigrate anywhere you would be prepared to live. The UK and other European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Canada all have strict skill requirements and so does any other worthwhile country.

It's not 'much easier' if you have qualifications, it's the ONLY way you will be accepted as an immigrant unless you're eligible to apply as the partner of a citizen or PR.

Until you turn 31, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland (you must be a college student or recent graduate) and ROK have (usually) 12 month working holiday arrangements with the USA for which there are no skill requirements.

How do I get a job in any of the European countries without having an existing work permit?

If you are from outside the EU and want to work in a EU country, you will most likely need a work permit as well as a visa. So, how do you get one?You can’t is the simple answer. If, and only if, you fall into certain categories defined by the country you want to work in, the company recruiting you can request a work permit. You generally can not apply for a work permit yourself.Companies will have to prove to their respective governments that they can not find anyone within the European Union who fulfils the requirements for the job. Only when the government agrees they might issue a work permit.Given that in some EU countries the unemployment levels are above 50%, it seems unlikely companies could not find anyone in the EU to fill the job. This might be true for 99.99% of all jobs advertised, there are still some highly specialized jobs for which EU governments will hand out work permits. In order to find out if you qualify, visit the work permit section of the official government site of the country you want to work in. Don’t use any of the consultancy services that claim they can get you into the EU, as long as you pay. These tend to only charge you and won’t get you anywhere. Here are some links for EU government sites where you can find out more:UK: Check if you need a UK visaGermany: Visa regulationsFrance: Foreign nationals holding ordinary passports exempt from visa requirementsNetherlands : Page on nlembassy.orgBelgium: Travel to BelgiumSpain:http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Por...Portugal: Portal SEFSwitzerland (Not in the EU!):http://www.eda.admin.ch/eda/en/h...Austria: How to Apply for a VisaItaly: Ministero degli Affari EsteriPoland: Work permit for foreigner's work in Poland

Am I eligible to work in Switzerland with a Schengen residence permit?

AFAIK Schengen only regulates free travel for residents. It is possible for EU and Swiss citizens to take jobs within the Schengen countries; however this right is not extensive to residents. In principle for the Swiss authorities you count as a Non-EU job seeker, and as such you are given the least priority. There are some exceptions though.See: Non-EU nationalsFor nationals of other countries – that have no agreement with the EU – the right to work in an EU country mainly depends on the laws of that country, unless they are members of an EU national's family. However, EU rules do cover the following areas for workers from all non‑EU countries:non-EU nationals who are long-term residents in the EUthe right to family reunificationadmission for non-EU researchersadmission for students, exchange pupils, unpaid training or voluntary servicethe rights of highly-skilled workers from outside the EU (EU blue card scheme). You could try and contact the Swiss migration authorities to inquiry about your specific case.

What does it mean to be legally authorized to work in the United States?

Yes you are legally authorized to work in the US if you are a citizen. In the US, this question refers to those not of US citizenship. Thus, they are asking if you have a green card/work visa or student visa. This information is verified when the employer fills out the I-9 form during the hiring process.

Your question isn't dumb. I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't really know the answer to this question.
