Am I Entitled To A Partial Refund For Garage Not Servicing My Motobike Correctly

Can I cancel a car booking after I have paid the full amount in India?

When you have given the finance disbursement, it is linked to the engine and chassis number for the car. Then RTO enrolls the hypothication on the car. You are bound to pay EMIs from the day of disbursement. So when dealer has taken the full payment and not giving you the car, that means you will pay EMI without even using the car. Dealer is going to use the money for a month and you will pay/loose the interest on that money. What can be done?1) Cancelling the booking. The technical problem with cancelling the car is, dealer will pay your money back but what about the finance amount? The finance amount now has to be foreclosed because your loan acocunt was started. How would you do that? You need to talk to your banker and dealer for this.If your financer is ready to offer a solution to this including NOC or Zero Balance statement, you can go ahead and cancel the car. This would have been the most feasible option if your finance amount is not disbursed.2) Get your car ASAP.Now what you can do is, call your financer, go to dealer, and ask when can you get the car, how did he disburse the loan when he knew the car was not available, who is going to bear the cost of interest till the time you get the car?Afterwards call Hundai Customer care and register the complaint. I don't think an i20 should take that much of time. Write a proper mail to Hundai Customer Care potryaing your dissatisfaction and pathetic experience with the brand. These are the two possibilities which can be worked out, I would prefer the second option though.

How is the service of a Revv self-drive rental car if one hires it for 2-3 day trip?

Ended up in the police station.Last year we hired Revv car for a 3 day trip to Hiamchal Pradesh from Delhi. The service we received was great till the time of returning the car. We got a maintained clean car at our door step. They took a few pics of the car and happily handed over it. So, we finished our journey and filled they petrol tank and reached home. The pickup guy was already waiting there. He inspected the car and said the windshield has a spot. We didn’t notice the spot for the whole time and it was a very small spot. I asked him to show me the pictures before the delivery but there was no picture of the windshield on his phone. So, he has no proof of the spot on the windshield has been occurred by us. I refused to take the blame on me for this. Now he started to show his true colour. He started arguing with me very rudely. I felt threatened and didn’t handed over the car key and documents to him before I am getting my deposit back. He called someone and within few minutes 2 more person resemble goons reached my place and started threatening me. I was horrified and called the customer care, they even refused to help. I decided to go to to the police. I drove the car and parked infront of the police station. The guys reached after me. I went there for file and FIR. Then those guys asked me to talk with the manager on the phone. The manager was very polite initially and was requesting me not to file a complaint. I complaint him about the pickup man and asked to pay my security back to release the car from me, after arguing a little he also showed his true color. He literally threatened me karde FIR, mein bhi dekhta hu tu kaha jayega bachke” (File the FIR and I will see where you gonna run to save yourself). After that there was no question of returning the car and safely reach home. I spent 4 hours in the police station. The inspector was quite helpful, he analysed the whole situation and asked the manager to be in the station within a hour and give my money back. I didn’t want to go through with the FIR procedure myself as it would be much hectic for me. After 2 hours of waiting the manager reached and gave my deposit back and took there car with them. The inspector noted all his information and warned him if anything happens with me, the police gonna arrest him first. After that I advice people not to use Revv. I have wonderful experience with Zoomcar and Myles.

Which is worse for the engine, putting diesel in a "petrol car" or petrol in a "diesel car"?

Its definitely a lot worse for the diesel engine. First of all, you can't fill a petrol car with diesel by mistake. Diesel nozzles are bigger than the filler neck on petrol cars. Also, there is a plate under the neck to prevent any intrusion but the small petrol nozzle, which was designed to prevent drivers from putting leaded(big nozzle too) petrol in the first place. If you happen to do that somehow, you wont damage the  engine even if you try to start it. Diesel is heavier than the gasoline, and much more "oily". It needs pressure to be ignited and does not evaporate as gasoline do. What happens after putting diesel on a tank is, diesel sank and injectors feed the engine a load of diesel. When you try to ignite the engine, spark plugs won't be able to fire the diesel and the engine won't start. To fix the issue, draining the tank and filling it again with gasoline ,cleaning the injectors and finally cranking the engine to throw up the unwanted diesel would suffice. Some may want to change the fuel filter to be on the safe side but it is not a must. The other way around, putting petrol on a diesel engine, is much more complicated. A diesel car can be filled with petrol rather easily, as the filler neck allows all nozzle kinds smaller than the diesel nozzle inside (which is basically every nozzle available). Modern diesel engines operate at very high pressures and within very fine tolerances. Also the fuel act as a lubricant for the engine and the injection system. When petrol meets the diesel engine, it acts as a thinner, causing the fuel to lose its lubrication properties and cause the engine and fuel pump to wear down through friction. If it comes this far, whole fuel system needs to be flushed and if there are any damaged components, they need to be changed. (Probably a few)If things go a little far, by trying to start the engine (may start) and try to drive; additional damage may happen by pre detonation. As petrol is much more volatile than the diesel, and diesel needs high pressure to be combusted, with so much pressure and air, petrol prematurely combusted and forcing pistons to rise and go back down out of their order. This kind of force may prove disastrous for many internal components in the engine block. If you happen to fill your car the wrong fuel by any chance, Do not turn on the ignition key - many modern cars circulate the fuel into the fuel system as soon as the battery turned on.

What are some slang terms used among police officers?

The most derogatory terms for the bad guys and citizens who are just pains in the rectum:A.H. = Adam Henry (A-dam H-enry) If you don’t get it…..sometimes you will hear it as “Jack Hole”…..now what starts with an “A” that ends with HOLE ?RICHARD CRANIUM= What starts with a “D” and is a nickname for Richard ? What is the non-medical layman’s term for the Cranium ? Do these clues HEAD you in the right direction ?

Why are they charging for air that you put in your tires?

You put air in your tyres?!!!Any good tyre shop worth it’s salt these days doesn’t use air, but instead fills your tyres with pure nitrogen. You see, air is made up of a mixture of gasses…mostly nitrogen at 80% or so, and then oxygen, carbon dioxide, water vapour and a few hundredths of a percent of other stuff….noble gasses, etc.The rubber compounds of your tyres are NOT gas-tight. The smaller molecules of the lighter gasses such as oxygen can pass relatively easily through the microscopic pores in tyre rubber, and different gasses expand and contract at different rates with temperature. As your tyres get hot in use, the smaller molecules and lighter gasses expand more, reach a higher partial pressure, and are more easily forced out through these pores.By filling with pure nitrogen, you have a constant molecule size which is significantly larger than the micropores in the tyre rubber so will stay up for longer.Fill a standard kids party balloon by blowing it up by mouth. Inflate an identical balloon with helium. Tie them off. Chances are the breath-filled balloon will still be inflated the next day. The helium-filled balloon will be sat on the floor, mostly deflated and shrivelled up. This is because the much smaller helium molecules find the balloon rubber almost porous. Not so the larger CO2 and oxygen and nitrogen molecules that can’t escape so easily.Let down a tyre that has been filled with air. Smell it? Not just the smell of rubber but that nasty ‘fishy’ smell.Let down a tyre that has been filled with pure nitrogen….all you can smell is the rubber. The inner surface of the tyre has not reacted with oxygen, so does not give rise to that fishy smell.But…..if you just use your local garage or service station that doesn’t have nitrogen fill, then they are charging you for the convenience of providing the equipment.I personally never need to top up my tyres with air. I just ask my garage to check the pressures and top up with nitrogen when I take it in for a service or MOT inspection every year.

What happens when you fill a petrol car with diesel? What is the solution if such an incident happened?

You accidentally filled your petrol vehicle with diesel, I assume you filled it up to the brim and your car was almost empty prior to that. I'm assuming also that you are of average literacy mechanically and you're seeking a DIY solution.1st on the agenda is to drain all the contaminated fuel out of the fuel tank. Check if your tank has a drain plug underneath and use that to drain( might need to raise the vehicle in this case), if not, you have to check if it's fuel injection or carburated. If fuel injected, locate the fuel pump relay on the fuse box and plug it out. Disconnect the fuel supply line to the fuel rail and extend it to a container suitable for containing fuel.On the fuel pump relay connector, bridge terminals that correspond to terminal 30 and 87 on the relay. Most relays are labeled. You are effectively pumping your contaminated fuel out of the fuel tank. When the fuel runs out, there's about three or so litres left in the tank but don't stress. You can put 5 litres of petrol and drain again. Now change the petrol filter(in-line) if equipped, and connect everything as was. Fill up the tank with the correct fuel. Crank up the car and it should catch after a few tries if not immediately. In case of a carburated vehicle, look for a cheap under car high pressure fuel pump and connect it to the fuel delivery line as close to the tank as possible. Disconnect the supply line to the carburetor/s and extend it to a container. Note that the pressure from a high pressure pump can damage your carbs.Connect the pump to a power source(use crocodile clips at the battery). When tank is empty add 5 litres of the correct fuel and drain again.Go at the carb/s and drain fuel in the reservoir. Most carbs do have drain plugs for that. If you don't find the drain, cycle the accelerator about 20 times to dump the contaminated fuel into the engine. Fully press accelerator and crank engine like you do on a flooded vehicle to vent off the fuel from the engine.Connect everything as it was and fill up the tank with the correct fuel. Crank the vehicle and it'll catch after a few tries.
