Can you get a tattoo while taking Doxycycline mono 100mg for acne?

Tattoo artists recommend you to not get tattooed if you are taking anything that is a blood-thinner because it will make you bleed a lot more easily. I've never heard of tattoo artists refusing to tattoo someone just because they are taking an acne medication.

How effective is doxycycline for treating an ear infection?

Disclaimer: Do not rely on medical advice received over the internet. Please consult with a medical professional in person.Doxycycline is a prescription antibiotic medication indicated for the treatment of the following infections and diseases: Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus fever and the typhus group, Q fever, rickettsialpox, and tick fevers, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections. It is effective to an extent but better options like antibiotic ear drops are preferred, usually ofloxacin (Floxin Otic and generic) or ciprofloxacin-dexamethasone (Ciprodex). Oral antibiotics may also be prescribed. Possible oral antibiotics for ear infection include Amoxicillin - it is the most common antibiotic prescribed for ear infections. If you suffered from hearing loss due to infection then go ahead with hearing loss treatment which is very much important for everyone who suffers from ear problem.Ear infections can affect the ear canal or the middle ear.Acute otitis externa (AOE) is the scientific name for an infection of the ear canal, which is also called swimmer’s ear.Middle ear infections are called Otitis Media, and there are two types of middle ear infections:Otitis Media with Effusion (OME) occurs when fluid builds up in the middle ear without pain, pus, fever, or other signs and symptoms of infection.Acute Otitis Media (AOM) occurs when fluid builds up in the middle ear and is often caused by bacteria, but can also be caused by viruses.

Is Doxycycline an effective drug for acne treatment?

I am just curious if Doxycycline can be effective in the treatment of acne (mild-to-moderate case). My doctor recently re-prescribed me to a generic Doxycycline hyclate tablet - 100 mg. twice daily (I used to take 75 mg. twice daily). My acne, although fairly mild, has flared up a bit recently and I am just wondering if it would be worth it to initiate a second treatment of the medicine at a higher dosage (I have been off the medication for about 10 days and have developed a few cysts - which I think can be attributed to my body's weaning off the medication). Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated!!

How good is Doxycycline for a tooth infection?

Doxycycline is infrequently used for dental infections. Only use antibiotics under the direction of a doctor.Thorough medical history and dental examination determines type of antibiotic to prescribe. For the non-allergic individual, Penicillin VK is first drug of choice, but if allergic to Pen VK and Amoxcillin, then we prescribe Clindamycin. If swelling is more severe, then need to hit it with higher dosage of Clindamycin - use clinical judgement on dosage and if oral antibiotics will control the infection or if patient needs to go to hospital emergency for IV antibiotics. I will frequently choose Metronidazole for periodontal causes of infection. These will usually suffice for most dental infections.Generally speaking, antibiotics are ineffective for irreversible pulpitis and pulp necrosis for the reason that there is no reliable blood supply to the tooth’s root canal system (dead tooth, right?). Root canal treatment is the only effective treatment (other than extraction), to remove the source of the infection. In dentistry, antibiotics are over prescribed out of convenience, patient expectations and knowledge of the doctor.

My teenage son was given a prescription for DOXYCYCLINE HYCLATE, does anyone know of any side effects?

Assuming you have access to the internet, you may want to just type "side effects of doxycycline hyclate" in the search bar. That would be the best way of finding out all the side effects of the drug your child will be taking. I use it in the hospital all the time. There are too many side effects to list here. Now of course, that doesn't mean, your son will experience those side effects. But... you shouldn't want to take a chance on any information being left out, by asking someone on Yahoo Answers. So just refer to an online source for the best information.

Is Doxycycline Hyclate related to penicillin in any way?

Doxycycline is a different type of chemical class than either penicillins or sulfa drugs, each class acts in a different way in the human body. There should be no cross allergic reaction between any of these drugs.

Doxycycline falls into the tetracycline class of drugs, see:
