Am I Overweight At All

What if I am overweight for SSB?

I was 82 Kg with an height of 179cm when I went to my AFSB this August!I knew as soon I got the call letter that I would not project a good image, I was a swimmer before and used to run often before I put on weight due to a medical issue. As I got my letter 2 weeks before AFSB , I could not do much except for basic running and exercises.even my shirts and trousers from the previous SSB were not fitting :)I did not face any problem as such in Psychology and Interview. If I speak on GTO it was mixed, I had no problem in any tasks except the individual tasks, where I had problem in most of the obstacles. could do only 6 obstacles.but the most important thing was that , I did not take it as a disadvantage, I was confident, and I made sure I gave my best no matter what! I made sure that I fill for the losses here by being the best in other tasks!sure, after Recommendation during the medicals the limit for me was 65–75 (with relaxation) and by the time of weight test I had reduced to 79 kg.so Doctor who was pretty cool, told his NCO that all my fat will be burned in academy and to declare me fit!I know people who have reduced to 10 to 12 kg in 42 days which is not advisable, but If you ask me will TR in Over weight be a problem if you can reduce it in 42 days it wont be but unless you are Obese!Good luck!

Am i overweight if i weigh 53 kg and im 165cm?

Your ideal weight would be 125 lbs (57 kg) so at 117 lbs (53 kg) you are actually 8 lbs (4 kg) below your ideal weight so your weight is fine. You don't need to lose any weight.

I don't look overweight, but I am. Why?

BMI is terrible. Never go by it. Most of the healthy athlete football players are said to be overweight because of the BMI chart. Its simply muscle and some people are, like you said, just big boned. A person is considered "physically fit" when they can do normal tasks without becoming sore, short of breath or dizzy. But that would be physically fit, not being overweight, but the two are almost no different at all and if you can do regular tasks fine, I think you'll be okay. Also, if you are worried about extra baggage, just cut back on junk foods, and maybe take a jog/walk every morning. And, remember you can always ask the doctor if he believes you are overweight and need a diet plan.

I weigh about 400 pounds. Am I overweight?

For reference, this dude is almost 7 foot tall and 400 some pound, bad ass looking guy, isn’t he?.He is very tall and he is a big man. He most likely ( may be!) takes some serious unpronounceable stuff and pump iron on regular basis and he can clean up large plates of food….he is also genetically gifted with very large frame. He is on leased time….When he walks he creates ripples in the air around. He is big man. For added effects and intimidation factors, he is also tattooed. His innards are on overdrive. He too may collapse sooner or later. If you don't look anything like this guy, then:Not a medical opinion:Yes you are very overweight in advanced stages of obesity. Let's assume you are about 6 foot tall and 400 pound.Your blood pressure may be critically high with any standards. You may be already diabetic and most likely you have very little stamina. Your mid- section and joints most likely are inflamed and you have trouble getting up, walking around and for sure you have trouble running.Your nutrition most likely is all about stuff from processed food section and most likely you enjoy drinking sodas and eating big fast food items such as triple cheeseburgers, commercial pizza, triple hot dogs and and your favorite candy bar is most likely the usual popular stuff. You can eat a lot.You most likely spend plenty of time in the bathroom and for sure you have no love life. You may even have other addictions other than junk food, such as alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs,…..All the above stuff are purely speculations…..If not, you must be at least 7 or 8 foot tall. I seriously suggest you seek medical attention as soon as possible. You may also have a chronic, unattended medical condition unbeknownst to you and not your fault at all.Good luck to you fellow human. I wish you the best.Edit: fixed bad spelling..

I am not overweight at all but I have fat arms, would I have to lose weight to make them skinny?

Keep doing cardio- it is so good for you! But in order to sort your arms out you need to tone.

Try lifting light weights- up to approx 3 kilograms, and do arm curls- you need to do a lot of reps. Start with 50 and increase gradually to 100 per day. The nice thing is that you can do this at home too- use cans of food or full water bottles. Also try tricep dips- you sit on a chair and then push yourself off, your arms supporting you on the chair- then you do kind of a push up, your bum slowly going down towards the floor, your elbows bend- but put the weight and effort into your arms, not your knees.

Good luck!
