Am I Required To Give My Auto Insurance Info

How can i get someones car insurance info if they wont give it to me? They wouldnt give it to the cops either.

You need to turn over all your information to your own insurance carrier. They will have the resources and investigators to discover the information you seek. Most states and state legislatures, as well as courts believe that insurance information should be freely available to parties in a dispute. Your situation is somewhat bizarre. Someone is trying to deceive someone, I would think. In our state, where minimal coverage is specified in the law, that information is routinely recorded on police reports.
Worst case scenario, you need to file a complaint in small claims court against the other party. Make sure you list the amount you are seeking as the maximum allowed. In this way, would they fail to appear, you will receive a default judgment . I would imagine they would cough it up well in advance of the docket setting, unless they are living outside the law.

Accidentally gave the wrong auto insurance info?

I was in an auto accident a few days ago, but I made a big mistake on my part.

I didn't get ANY information on the other person. Phone number, name, license, insurance (the most idiotic move). On top of that, when I was looking for my auto insurance information, I still had old information from Farmers Insurance, but couldn't find the current information. So assuming that I still had Farmers insurance, I gave the information from the latest paperwork that I could find. What I didn't know is that my parents had changed the insurance to metlife...

I had already made a claim to my own provider, and I had already asked Farmers to give the other guy my ACTUAL information after they had called me.

So...what might happen now???
The other guy has all of my information. Phone number, address, etc etc

So

Lady hit my car and won't give me insurance information help?

She hit my parked car and lives down the street. My whole door is smashed in. She left a note on my windshield saying she did it and her phone number. My husband went out to car and talked to her and she wanted to pay out of pocket and was acting like she didn't want insurance companies to get involved. I told my husband we need to get her insurance info so I called and she got all mad when I told her the estimate I got and shel told me she could pay for my deductible. Luckily I have uninsured motorist insurance property damage but I don't know what the deductible is. Will she get in trouble if I report this to my insurance company cause I tried and she won't give her freakin info sorry going crazy here!

Am I obligated to provide insurance info if my car was hit while parked?

Required is the key word.. Not required to provide information to anyone except the authorities.Would you… I would if my quick evaluation of the circumstances allowed that my actions would facilitate a quicker, friendlier resolution to the unfortunate circumstances. What we all tend to forget in the moment of an accident’s aftermath .. when nobody is hurt, but a few cars with dings… we tend to forget that neither of you intended to have an accident as you just 15 minutes before were going about your lives. Best cure for bad circumstances is to find some good int it.. by showing one another that you care about humans, not cars.I speak from experience. I was headed to work one morning in my very new sports car when a 17 year old made a quick left turn right in front of me, trying to enter a driveway. We were on a narrow side street. The road was crowned & at the curb a driveway hump began, so the kid had to stop to prevent nosing into it with his front bumper… which he had not foreseen prior to cutting me off. I skidded about 30 feet on the dampened pavement of that Summer late Spring morning. When my car came to came to a stop against the passenger side door of his rather old 4 door sedan. Had there been another 2 feet, I never would have contact his car. . .with my leg front headlight .. damage to my car consisted of slight ding on my bumper.. dented his door.. the headlights were tilting style with lids on my car… the left side headlight lid one no longer worked. I could open it if I pried it with my fingers. He apologized said he had just recently gotten his license.. he’d just started driving.. his intention was to pull into the driveway , back out & park alongside the sidewalk & he had not realized that he needed to come to a stop to avoid bottoming out on the driveway apron. He was going to park & walk the few remaining blocks to the local high school. I never lost my temper or expressed anger to him.I felt his pain… to cheer him up I simply said that years from now he could remember back to this day, the day of his first accident … when he had cut off a … Porsche ..We exchanged information rather quickly & we went on our separate ways. His insurance carrier paid for my damage & that all is now history.. by now that young man is probably in hislate 40’s … & I am sure he remembers his first accident!

Accident and other driver uninsured/gave wrong insurance information. What should I do?

I was rear ended on the highway last week. I called the police at the time of the accident, and since this was my first accident, I didn't realize that I should have the police come to the site and write a formal report. Instead, I just informed them of the accident over the phone and the exchanged insurance information with the other driver. I then filed a claim with his insurance company and informed my insurance company about the accident. His insurance company finally got a hold of him, and he informed them that he switched insurance companies. However, based on recent phone conversations with him, when he actually answered my calls, I highly doubt that he is insured because he constantly changed the information he gave me regarding conversations he had with his insurance company. I went to the state police, who said that they could not file a late accident report. If I go through my insurance company, the repair cost will come out of my deductible. My other option is to file a small claims case, but that would cost as much as fixing my car. At this point, its about principle to me. What can I do to make him pay for the damage he did to my car? Why won't the police help me if it's against the law to drive uninsured?
