In your opinion, is suicide selfish?
It is selfish and cowardly. I can say from experience that it truly does get better. You just have to believe and move forward even when your future looks bleak. There are so many people in this world who are much more unfortunate than we are and yet they have a more positive outlook on life and take pleasure in the simple things. It's fatuous to take your life because you feel sad or hopeless, those feelings are only temporary. Without sadness or hardships, we can't really appreciate the happy moments we experience in life :) It's a shame that so many people take their lives on a daily basis.
Suicide - least selfish way in which to do it?
If I'm committing suicide, selfishness isn't an issue. You have to care what someone else thinks for it to matter (be important enough) whether you or they consider it selfish. I'm not responsible for what another person chooses to feel. You address your thoughts like they are the only way someone could feel about any of it and as if your point of view is the only valid stance. ALL of "society" does not deem suicide "wrong" ... in the society you choose to believe exists, chooses to make suicide matter. For something to "matter" to anyone, they must first choose to make it important enough to care about it. Most people that take your point of view on the act are usually those that deny people their individual rights to do with their lives and bodies whatever they choose. Also, there are two sides to the story. You don't address the fact that it is equally selfish of people to expect another to live just for their sake, so they don't have to "suffer" ... it's okay for you to continue suffering indefinitely, as long as you don't affect their happiness. I don't advocate suicide in most cases, but it's your life, your body, your choice and your business. Even if you were my child, I'd tell you the same thing. I've been to two funerals this year of people I've known that have committed. They were good friends, it was apparent that many of the people there chose not to respect the choices those people made, all most of them were thinking about was themselves. That is what most people do at funerals, regardless of the cause of death.
How is suicide selfish??
everyone has people who love them. it hurts everyone when you leave them, its a completely selfish act, the person who leaves doesnt have to deal with the pain and the loss of losing another. its intentionally hurting the people they love.
Do you think committing suicide is selfish?
My boyfriend committed suicide. I'm not sure if it's just me but I refuse to chalk it up to him being selfish. No way is some one in their right mind when doing something like that. I don't know how it can be selfish when I know for a fact they aren't thinking about anyone or anything their mind is in a completely different place that we may never know and if they were thinking about someone and still did it they would think twice about doing so and wouldn't do it. Back to them not being in their right mind I know that's a saying people throw around but if you really think about it they are not in touch with any sort of reality. Say your a opinion but please don't be rude.
Why do people think suicide is a selfish act?
first of all im against suicide because its like taking the easy way out.....chickening out...... life is the most precious gift that god have given us and to commit suicide is like shoving that gift back in gods face and saying i dont want it......... we all have problems, we all sometimes feel like we wanna die, but actally killing yourself is taking yourself away from somebody who loves you and i also disagree with abortion.........its wrong to kill innocent babys just beacuse the mother had sex.....its not the babys fault that the mother had sex ...so why should it die??? Everybody should have a chance to live and expericence love.....even if the mother got raped...thats still not the babys fault.....she can at least put it up for adoption...... its called accepting responsiblity for your actions once again having an abortion is taking the easy way out..... one of the ten commandments is thou shall not kill that includes innocent babys and yourself
Why do people think suicide is selfish?
When one kills themselves, it affects a lot of people both mentally and physically. Imagine if someone you really care about killed themselves. You would hate yourself and push other people away. You would spend many years in and out of depression...maybe even end up killing yourself, but for the rest of your life you will always wonder what if... Why is suicide considered weak and selfish?
I have always wondered why there is such a stigma attached to suicide. Maybe you just want to get out of here, go some place else. Like going to a party with your friends and the party is boring, but now you cannot leave because you rode with them and you are in the middle of nowhere. Life is like that for some people. Any answers should not include the usual "life is beautiful, you must be depressed" trite statements. I am not depressed. I am bored and find humans tedious and superficial.
