Am I Still Growing Taller At 15

How do I grow taller? I'm 15 and only 5'3''?

There are numbers of reasons why a person is not tall, and most of them do not
have any effective treatment.
Probably the commonest cause is genetic, that is to say that one or
both your parents are below average height, or that short stature runs
in your family. There is really nothing that can be done about this.
The other cause that most people know about is a deficiency of growth
hormone, which is produced by the pituitary gland situated at the base
of the brain. If a deficiency of this hormone is discovered early
enough in life, it is sometimes possible to give treatment with
injections of growth hormone to increase height. However, by the time
you get to 17 years of age, your bones may not respond to the effect
of the hormone. The only way to find out if you have this condition is
to discuss it with your doctor. Blood tests an X-rays to see how your
bones are growing can usually make the diagnosis, but for treatment
you would need referral to a specialist. These investigations should
also show if there is any other cause for your short stature.
But you should not think that it will definitely help you. Medical
science can not make you the way you want to be - and it is true not
only for height - so it's better to accept yourself as you are. Tall
people are not necessary happier than short people - look at the
tallest man in Ukraine, who was stripped of his title, lives alone
with his mother, and has constant legs pain!
The exercises they advertise on-line may increase your height
temporarily for 0,5 - 1 cm, it's hardly noticeable and does not worth
the trouble: your height varies during the day on its own.
Very occasionally, surgeons will try an operation to lengthen the
bones in the legs. This is very difficult, and takes many months or
even years, and a series of operations. It is a dreadful operation,
and I mentioned it only because you may have heard of it. Never
consider mutilating yourself for a miserable increase in height, and
be happy as you are.

Can a 15 year old girl grow taller?

I'll be 15 in March so I'm 14 now.

I've heard a lot of people say that girls stop growing two years after their period, and some say that girls don't stop growing until they're in their twenties.

I got my period very young so I did not stop growing after that.

My mom is 5'3" and my dad is 5'8". I have an older brother and he is 5'10" but boys don't stop growing until they're in their 20s, apparently. He is 18.

My dad's entire family is super, super tall but his mom smoked while she was going to have him so while his brothers were all 6 feet+, he got jilted, I guess.

On my mom's side, I have an aunt who is like 5'9" and she didn't stop growing until she was in her twenties. My grandmother was taller when she was younger but she's smaller now (about 5'5 maybe) and my grandfather is like 6 ft maybe.

So I have late bloomers and tall genes in my family, but my question is will I get to continue on growing? Do you think I could inherit my dad's family's tall genes or did they all get wiped out by my grandmother's smoking and stunting of his height?

I'm 5'3" now.

Will I still grow taller if I eat less? I’m 15 years old and 5’6’’ tall. I weight 50kg. Will eating less have an effect on my height?

Am assuming that you are a male. You are still growing and will be for a few years to come. If you don’t get enough nutrition, you will not grow to your potential. Eat healthy meals as you are young man in the development stage. You also need to get plenty of sleep if you want to grow to your full height. Males usually grow as tall or taller than their tallest parent and females as tall or taller than their mothers. If you started puberty early, you will probably grow until 18–19; if puberty began later, then you may even grow into your early 20’s.

15 y/o with full beard, will I grow taller anymore?

Beard growth does not signal height growth. Although a strong beard can signal what stage you are at in puberty. A strong beard signals the latter side of puberty. . During puberty 20% of your final height is obtained. Testostorone levels generally peak at age 22, and begin to fall 1% a year after age 30. Although the growth plates technically may stay open a bit for 3-4 years after puberty ends. Height is not completley genetic it also depends on diet, lifestyle, sleep and even exercise habbits. For example if you took a baby eleaphent with the genetic potential to be huge, and only fed it 2,000 calories a day of chips. it would not grow to its potential height and it may even die. I reccomend for you to go to the doctor and ask them to look at the growth plates in your spine, and lower body. If they are still open you may grow more. The average age for height to stop is between ages 17-21. The average age for physical growth to completley stop is between age 19-22. Some guys actually grow untill age 23 depending on genetics, diet, sleep habbits, exercise habbits, lifestyle habbits and other factors. Its also not unheard of for males and even females to have secondary growth spurrts during the early 20's. Look up Jason Heyward a baseball player who grew an inch after he turned 20, and he had complete facial hair at that time. JaVaelle Maghee a basketball player is another example. He had a beard when he grew half an inch at age 21. The growth plates for most guys close by age 21. However some guys continue physical growth untill age 23. Your brain will probally continue to grow untill ages 25-27. Weight lifting and Zinc increases testtostorne levels. At age 15 your testostorone levels are probally not completley set even if it may seem like it now. Human Growth Hormone Levels will tail off greatly by age 25. Go to your Doctors and ask them to X ray to growth plates in your spine, and legs. Good luck!!
