Am I The Only Person Who Thinks Marilyn Monroe Isn

Am i the only person who thinks Marilyn Monroe isn't beautiful?

She is definitely prettier than most girls, but I don't think she was the most beautiful person alive. Without make up she would have looked average, but with make up she is just pretty, not beautiful. Am I the only person who thinks this? :/

Do you think marilyn monroe is in hell?....?

No. Hell is a fiction; nobody goes there. So is heaven.

Do you think Marilyn Monroe was hot?

Attractiveness is hard to measure. Different times mean different styles and tastes. She was the gold standard of her time but in today’s world, she likely would’ve been one of many. It’s ironic because she was the model that many sex-symbols of her time and later based themselves on, so by her success she became an almost cartoon character of her own image, which she was actually more than, which is sad. She was a talented woman, who was kind of underutilized but she is immortalized in Hollywood's golden age.By today’s standard’s she was good but she wasn’t muscular or wif thin, so her body may not be as pleasing to today’s free porn era, where anyone can search online for women photos, who have been “overly enhanced” by plastic surgery and digital photo editing. So I’m sure many guys/women will find her mildly to attractive so I would say yes.Compared to myself, she was a knockout:)

How many people out there think that Marilyn Monroe was murdered?

Marilyn MonroeMarilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson; June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962) was an American actress, model, and singer. Famous for playing comic "blonde bombshell" characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and was emblematic of the era's attitudes towards sexuality. Although she was a top-billed actress for only a decade, her films grossed $200 million by the time of her unexpected death in 1962 (equivalent to $2 billion in 2018). More than half a century later, she continues to be a major popular culture iconFast facts video attached

Am I the only one that thinks Marilyn Monroe was not that beautiful?

I was thinking about this last week too. Maybe she was stunning for her time period or something. I've also seen the nudes she did and they weren't that great. So yeah, I don't see it either.

Am I the only one who think Marilyn Monroe is overrated?

Sorry if I offend anyone but I am starting to think Marilyn Monroe was and still is overrated. I mean, most of these days female celebrities all look up to her like she is a god, I mean; I sort of agree that she was a beautiful and great actress but they idolize her. Paris Hilton, Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan (all idolize her) - and those are the ones that are bad. I think women should respect and look up yo strong women. If they look up to actresses then they should look up those who focus on acting and not looking "sexy". Sure, celebrities must be beautiful, but no need to pose naked on almost every single picture. Most of the time people love her because she was a sex kitten, but is that all today's people think about? Sex? Secondly I understand she kind of showed she was a strong woman, but what she did was make men think women are sex toys. I'm sorry but I am just voicing out my opinion =) I understand she was a fashion icon, so don't get me wrong.

Why do people think Marilyn Monroe is "immoral"?

Because the 1950s were a time of great repression of both sexuality and women, Marilyn was viewed by some as 'immoral' because she revolutionized the way sex was viewed.

When the nude calendar story broke, the studios went into a panic, the country was poised for the scandal of the year: that the fresh young starlet Marilyn Monroe was the naked, unashamed woman hanging on walls across the country. And then.....Marilyn was the breath of fresh air that
the stale social morays needed. Instead of being ashamed, instead of performing spin control or trying to garner sympathy, she not only held her head high and admitted it....she made jokes about it, saying she had nothing on but the radio. Her candor and honesty was refreshing to
the public, and with it, very subtly, the nation's views on women's sexuality began to change. Marilyn was a rare woman- she could seduce and entice men, yet still seem suitable to bring home to mother. She could endear herself to women without them feeling threatened. Most
importantly, she showed the world that you could be a sexual being, you could be aware of and even revel in your own body without being slutty. She was that rare woman who could retain elegance while undressed, and this showed the women of America that yes, you could be
sexual without being immodest, that you could be sensual without being crass, that you could seduce and please your husband at night and still be a proper society woman during the day. Without her bringing sex to the forefront of the American conscience, I don't know that the
sexual revolution that followed in the 1960's might have occurred.

Many people feel threatened by strong women who are comfortable in their body and their sexuality, and those women are immediately called 'sluts' or 'whores', even if they are in a series of long-term monogamous relationships like Marilyn was.

I'd also like to note that Marilyn was NOT ''on drugs''. She did not 'party', she did not use any type of recreational drugs AT ALL. She ONLY had doctor prescribed prescriptions for Nembutal, chloral hydrate, and limbrium which were all prescribed to treat her anxiety and insomnia. Back then doctors didn't realize how addictive or harmful they were.

Is marilyn monroe overrated?

Yes, I definitely think she is highly overrated. First of all, she was a terrible actress. In my opinion, “The Misfits” is the only movie where she portrayed anything other than herself. Think about it-she was always a naive, somewhat dumb blonde in all her roles. I am not saying that she was stupid. I just don’t think she was very good or very smart. The people who acted with her couldn’t stand her. Some of them, like Clark Gable in “The Misfits” and Lawrence Olivier in “The Prince and the Showgirl,” felt sorry for her. So they made allowances for “poor Marilyn.” But at the same time, she kept fellow actors and crew members waiting forever for her to show up. And she was never prepared. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon dressed uncomfortably in “drag” on the set of “Some Like It Hot” had to wait for her for hours and then reshoot scene after scene because Monroe couldn’t remember simple lines. Curtis said that filming love scenes with her was like “kissing Hitler.” Billy Wilder, the director on that same movie, started writing her lines down on props, like inside a dresser drawer. She still couldn’t get it right. I have read many, many biographies of Hollywood movie stars and there were none who had any respect for her. She was a messed up person who had no regard for the feelings of anyone else. She wasn’t mean. She wasn’t rude. She was just totally unprofessional.Secondly, regarding her affair with Jack Kennedy, what did she think he was doing with her? He was the President of the United States. She actually went so far as to call Jacqueline Kennedy. Did she think he was going to divorce a class act like Jackie to marry a woman (a very nice way of putting it) like her. The way she sang Happy Birthday to him in front of all the press corps at the White House dinner was embarrassing. Of course, Jack Kennedy was inexcusable in his actions. That whole scenario was disgraceful. And my third reason is that while Marilyn was pretty and I guess sexy, that didn’t make her beautiful. Beauty comes from within. Elegance and spirit make women like Rita Hayworth, Ann Sheridan, Grace Kelly, and Audrey Hepburn beautiful and desirable. They were actresses who demanded respect. Marilyn Monroe did not.

Some believe that Marilyn Monroe had an IQ of 168. Why do others insist this is a myth? Is it too far-fetched that she was that smart?

There are many things about Marilyn Monroe that might be considered as "myths." Although she came off and was generally viewed as a "sex symbol," she was actually very bright.   Her close friend Jane Russell is quoted as saying: "Marilyn was far brighter than everyone thinks."   Marilyn did have a great hunger for acceptance of her intelligence. You don't date, marry and live with someone on Arthur Miller's intellectual level without a certain level of braininess. You do not impress nor do you remain in association of the Kennedy's without smarts as well.  Lee Strasberg, head of the Actor's Studio considered her as one of the two most exceptional students he had ever met. The other was Marlon Brando.  Marilyn Monroe was smart enough to outsmart Hollywood and created a female based production company that more or less gave her everything she demanded. Unfortunately Marilyn's life embedded many insecurities into her. Ones she had great difficulty dealing with over her lifetime. She had an almost pathological fear of performing in front of people. However, she associated with and even outsmarted some of the "smartest" people in her business.  When those nude photos she had taken showed up on the open market, it was Marilyn, herself, who suggested how best to handle them. A strategy that not only worked, but made Marilyn a household name.Unfortunately, throughout her career, she became rigidly bound to the sex symbol goddess image that Hollywood had built around her. One that many of the viewing public could not or would not see around. And apparently even by some contemporary blindsided individuals.  Marilyn Monroe was unique. A singular individual, whom no one has ever been able to come close to impersonating. She was a genius bound by other people's preconceptions.
