Why do so many men oppose feminism?
Men don't want to lose power -they think that if they lose power then they'll be looked down on - just like in a relationship some guys have problems with a woman making more money? It's all about power.
Why do some feminists oppose a young woman leaving her parents to live with husband after marriage & what is the solution if a young woman should not leave her parents (I am a young woman & feminist)?
Because they’re misandristic man-haters, not feminists. They generally despise marriage because they believe that women aren’t treated like the “strong independent woman” that they are. It’s pathetic is what it is. And the solution? If you’re married, then live together. It’s only practical and the most sensible thing to do.
Why do feminists censor opposing opinions?
History guy: No, although the question stated 'feminists' it elaborated (in details section) that I'm referring to some, not all. "Or are they (those who do the blocking) just blatant cowards?" Additionally, what you mentioned - about labelling, is precisely what feminism does about men. Men do this, men do that, men are inferior, etc. You have a valid point, but you should be directing it to feminists - not me. I've been banned from many myself - for offering evidence contrary to what they wish to see, or perpetuate. That is personal experience. However, my board has quite a few people who have also linked to feminist places that have banned when confrtonted with opposing opinions. kessie - yes some men will do it too, but I'm referring to the forums & blogs, etc. (and YA in a small way)... but as i pointed out, MRA boards don't ban 'just because' of an opposing view - feminist boards do, regardless how polite or pleasant you may be.
Why do feminists oppose financial abortions?
If they are about equal rights, they ought not to. Why should a man be screwed because the woman chose to have the baby? A man should be able to say within 18 weeks of the pregnancy, as long as the woman can abort, to be able to forgo all parental responsibility and rights. The woman will then be clearly be told that the man doesn't want to parent a child, and she would be able to abort. The current system is set up so that men may very well ditch the mother and child because they don't want to be trapped. Do feminists really want a woman to have to raise a child by themselves because the father ditches after the fact and after it's too late to get an abortion? Under this system, the woman would be told beforehand and can get an abortion with this knowledge.
What do feminists think of female anti feminists?
I have problems understanding why men are so anti- feminism when it helps them, too. Society has really pushed the "man-hating feminist " image so far so many will keep on believing that this is what feminism is. That image couldn't be further from the truth, but the government /the powers that be don't want people to know it isn't true for fear that more will fight for the cause, and therefore disrupt the status quo. If men found out they didn't have to fit into the mold society has placed them into, like many women have discovered about themselves, then things could really change, and then what? Will more men decide they want to stay at home and raise their children? Will more men follow their dreams instead of being trapped in a soul-stealing 9-5 job? What will happen to the economy (they fear), and what if men have more time and energy to take a look at what is really going on in politics? This all goes the same for women, for if more women realised what feminism truly is, then that many more would be fighting for change, and the government /powers that be would lose power. So they keep perpetuating this negative idea of what feminism is so people will continue to fight against it.
