Am I Too Short To Be A Model

Is 5'5 too short to be a model?

I used to model when I was younger. When you hit 30, you become OLD in some cases. I'm 5'8 1/2" tall & did runway modeling. Unfortunately, 5'5 is too short for runway, but you could always look into hand modeling, foot modeling, or work for someone who advertises clothes in their catalogs. I wish you all the best! Don't limit yourself because of your height! There's plenty of other types of modeling you can consider!

Am i too short to model?

i've always wanted to model but i feel i'm too short. i'm 5"7.5 or 171.5cm (some websites say thats 5"8?) and i weigh a little over 110 pounds. i sort of want to do runway but if i'm not tall enough then i'll stick to catalogue. i e-mailed an agency and they told me the international cut off was 5"7? does anyone know if i'm too short?

p.s. i sort of dont want people to answer if theyre not really sure. because that makes me even more unsure haha.

thanks.

Is 5'6" too short to be a model?

Yes, you are definitely thin enough... you could get involved in print modeling, catalogs, commercials, etc but 5'6" IS too short for runway... runway is a world where 5'8" is considered short! Google "modeling agency in (your city)" and see what comes up... you'll find out ways to contact them, and find out information about go-sees where you'll get an honest evaluation from people in the business who will tell you what you're best suited for. You might even build a healthy network if you pursue it and be able to get small jobs... which is a great way to build up a portfolio, and a portfolio is a surefire way to get more jobs.

no that's a perfect height to model w/.
models on the runway have to be at the least 5'8.

I am 173 cm...am I too short be a model?

yes your shorter by one inch. For many or all agencies the height minimun is 5'9 if your a female for male it's 5'11. If your 14 (not closer to 15) you have a chance to grow about 1 more inch or half inch and a very SLIM chance to grow past 18 you will if your lucky very few do!

Is 5'9" too short to be a male model?

Absolutely Not!Most people think of fashion modeling when they hear the word “modeling”.Fashion models are usually young, tall, and thin. For example in New York, Male fashion models are expected to be on the average 6′2″, while females are expected to be 5′9″ or above. Model agencies have this requirement because that’s the standard for runway models. However, fashion is only a small portion of modeling. There are so many other categories of modeling out there that people may not be aware of. Examples include Commercial modeling, fitness, fit, parts, promo, hair and etc. These other categories do not have as stringent of requirements as fashion. Meaning, you do not have to have a certain height or age to qualify.People who focus only on fashion modeling is at a great disadvantage because there is a huge market out there who is also looking for new faces. Here is a list of the mainstream types of modeling available today, including fashion modeling.Types of ModelingHope this helps!Let me know if you have any other questions about modeling.Cheers!
