Amazon Product Am I Being Ripped Off

How often do people get ripped off on Amazon from 3rd party sellers?

They may be running a scam like this one:Beware of New Third Party Seller Scam on Amazon

What do I do when I get ripped off by Amazon?

The 1st thing you do is tell Amazon. Amazon is very particular about customer service and they want you to have a good experience. If there's been a mistake they will likely make it good. If it was a marketplace seller they will intervene on your behalf.

If I get scammed on Amazon, do I get my money back?

Amazon literally has a no questions asked policy, it is part of their corporate ethos.Wanna know how far that goes? Order something under $100 from Amazon fulfillment, receive it, open it and use it and then file a claim stating that you never got it. They will ship you another one immediately, no questions asked. You shouldn’t do this, (it is technically fraud), but you might ask yourself ‘why they would do this?’The customer is no. 1 at Amazon, to them the customer not getting their package is basically the worst thing that can happen in their world. The 100 bucks they are out on the package is nothing compared to loosing a customer FOREVER.You see a long time ago in an internet far far away people were once scared to buy things on the internet, they were scared of being scammed. Then along came Amazon. Amazon learned that they could absorb the costs incurred by non-delivery/scams SO LONG as they command a particular amount of the market share. The acquired that market share by being the one place that NEVER asks questions about your transaction. “You want your money back, ok here you go” — Are the words that allowed internet e-commerce to thrive, and Amazon to reign as AUTOCRAT.Now Amazon probably has their eyes on what you are claiming. They are not going to let things go unbalanced… say ‘loosing’ a $5,000 TV, but in their business model, each client is going to be responsible for a few of these claims, and those claims are cooked into the books.

Is everything on amazon.com real?

How do I get my money back after being scammed on Amazon by a 3rd party seller?

If you purchased an item on Amazon which was seller-fulfilled, you can ideally file an A-to-Z guarantee claim to dispute with Amazon about the product or payment related issue with your seller.Amazon here, will act as a judge and allow both the seller and buyer (you) to present their claims. Ultimately, Amazon shall decide who is at fault and it's the final decision. This shall be resolved within 3–14 days. Therefore, I would recommend you file a claim keeping in mind Amazon’s guidelines here: About A-to-z GuaranteeMake sure to avoid hypothetical statements as this may be recorded as less valid, ultimately leading to denial of the claim.

How much perfume sold on Amazon is counterfeit?

I would venture to say not very much, but due to the overwhelming number of vendors selling there and products offered, some bogus products could slip in and be there before they're reported and noticed. Critical Thinking: SO Last CenturyEveryone wants cheap perfume, right? This desire tends to remove critical thinking, the kind that would be suspicious if something looks too cheap. This obviously leads to non-critical thinkers getting screwed, whatever they're buying. To me, it's a hell of a lot easier to exercise healthy suspicion than to risk a too-low price, getting ripped off, and then trying to get Amazon to intervene for a refund.Having Your Fake And Eating It, TooI recently sold some of my own less-used 'fumes to someone locally at a cheap price. All legit stuff that I just wasn't wearing anymore. We had a pleasant conversation, and they told me that they had shopped for perfumes on Canal St. in New York city. I said, oh oh! And they said, yup. :) Large perfume companies do their best to control distribution of their products. This allows them to dictate prices to an extent, as well as who sells their stuff. Amongst us aficionados, it's fairly well-known that the top counterfeiting choices are Chanel and Creed. This is because:They're extremely popular, good, and expensiveThe tight distribution keeps prices consistent and pretty highThe counterfeiters want to get in on the action, and they can charge almost as high prices and make big bucks on fake swill.I've seen photos of examples of these fakes. They have quite convincing packaging, although looking closely one can often see funny little typos. :) If you can't resist shopping on Amazon for perfume, I'd say at least buy what's officially offered by Amazon itself, as opposed to outside vendors on there. That will improve your odds.

Made an order on Amazon, and merchant cancelled my order. Where's my refund?

I ordered an item from Amazon today, and later on this evening the merchant has informed me that they've cancelled it due to them being out of stock (even though I see that they still have 16 or so still available...). I checked my account about half an hour later, and saw that there was no refund. I checked my transactions to double check, and they definitely charged me for it.
Could it be a mistake of theirs? The Customer Service lady emphasized that they wouldn't charge me until it was actually shipped.
I'm confused... am I the only one? What's going on?

Is Amazon safe to purchase using credit card?

I am planning to buy some books but Cash on Delivery option is not available for it. So is using credit card for it safe? And can it happen that I pay the money yet product does not arrive?

I am from India.
