Amazon Videos On Kindle Fire

Why won't my Kindle Fire play YouTube videos?

The Kindle Fire is set up to play several video formats (MPEG-4 MP4, 3GP, VP8(.webm), for example). Unfortunately, YouTube’s format is not always one of the supported formats (FLV). There is a fix for this. There is a YouTube app for Android, but it’s not available on the Amazon Kindle’s app store. To get it, you do the following:Set your Kindle Fire to accept app downloads from unknown sources. From the top main menu, select ‘More’. Under ‘Device’ select the option to allow such downloads.Go to the Amazon Kindle app store and download & install a file explorer. (I use ES File.)Use your browser to go to Google Play and download the YouTube app for Android.Open the file explorer and locate the local downloads. There should be a file there that is the YouTube app. The file name will end in .apk.Select the file. It should give you the option to install it. Click install.Once it is finished you should be able to see an icon for YouTube on your main screen.Use this app, not your browser, to view YouTube videos. (Note that even with the app installed, Kindle won’t let you subscribe to YouTube channels.)

Amazon Prime with Kindle fire vs Nook Tablet?

I really like the interface of the Kindle Fire and the design for the Nook Tablet. But I'm still boggled on which one I should get. My main concerns are selection of books, features, and price for its selections.

- Amazon has more eligible to read for free books during the duration of Amazon's prime membership but has less selections than Barnes and Nobles. When I searched for some of the books I was interested in buying, the prices are usually the same with some exceptions where amazon's prices were a tad cheaper to a big discount. From 50 cents to $12 cheaper on the books I was interested in.

"As an Amazon Student member you'll also get six months of FREE Two-Day Shipping with Amazon Prime, and will automatically continue receiving Amazon Prime shipping benefits at a cost of $39 a year for up to four years with automatic renewal. These benefits can't be shared with another account, but if you continue with a paid membership you'll receive access to thousands of Prime instant videos, and a Kindle book to borrow for free each month from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. If you don't wish to continue with paid Prime benefits you can set them to not automatically renew at any time during the free period.

Once the $39 membership is selected, you'll no longer be eligible for the free period even if the paid membership is canceled."

I like the Nook tablet and color for their design, expandable memory, much larger selection of books and the more organized interface. I can put movies/music on the memory card and watch it on the nook when I travel or waiting. Hardware wise I would love to have the nook. Feature wise, I like the fire. I would like to see your opinion on this.

Should I buy an Amazon Fire Tablet instead of Kindle?

I have a couple of editions of the older Kindle Fire HD ( tablet). They are a great inexpensive tablet. I have found all of the Amazon devices to be sturdy. No battery problems, I drop them a lot and they are fine. I don't like it for sitting down to read a book because my eyes are kinda funky and the reflections and glare get to me.I also have a Kindle Paperwhite e-reader. If you do a lot of reading this is well worth the price for the glare free reading in any light. Here is the comparison page for all the Amazon Fire tablets, they were called Kindle Fire but the new name makes for less confusion with Kindle e-readers.https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fi...This is the comparison page for all the e-readers, in the middle of the product page:Kindle Voyage E-reader – Amazon Official Site

Will Amazon ship the Kindle Fire to any country like it does with the regular Kindle?

At the moment, Amazon has no plans to launch Kindle Fire outside U.S.There is no video streaming service on Amazon .UK .FR .JP or .DE. You can download MP3 or books outside the USA, but without instants videos, the Kindle Fire isn't so interesting as it is in the USA.

Where are my pictures and videos saved in kindle fire? I cant find any default gallery?

On the home screen, you should see “Shop Games Apps Books”, etc. You may have to scroll over to Photos. To see them on your computer, plug your Fire in. It should appear as a device similar to a flash drive. Inside, there will be a folder called DCIM. This is where your photos are stored.

How to upload video from Kindle Fire HD to youtube?

Hi, I have a kindle fire HD and I was having the same problem. I wanted to share my pictures on facebook and pinterest but I could not do that directly from Kindle Fire and it was annoying. So i searched amazon for any useful app and came across this app named "myCamera HD+". Its basically a camera app but allows you to capture pictures and videos, edit them and also share them on any social media. Personally did not try sharing videos but guess it will work for videos too.

What are the specs of the Amazon Kindle Android Tablet?

BGR (Boy Genius Report ?!) says:the “entry” level tablet, codenamed “Coyote” will be based on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform. The big boy? That’s codenamed “Hollywood” and will be based on the NVIDIA T30 “Kal-El” which will bring a screaming quad-core processor with a 500% performance increase over the dual-core Tegra 2. No word on screen sizes at this point, and we’re digging for more information, so stay tuned!http://www.bgr.com/2011/05/16/am...

Amazon’s successes include things like the Kindle Fire, VOD, Prime, and others. What has Amazon failed at?

I agree with Daniel Kahn, AmazonFresh. To examine why users were not flocking to AmazonFresh, I conducted a guerrilla usability study to identify its pain points. Here's what I found out:  Problem 1: The search results confused usersBy far, the biggest cause of confusion and frustration was the search. Four out of the six users, either did not find what they were looking for or they got some strange search results. For instance, a user looked for gin. The result? the search found matches for gin and Gin Tama, a Japanese manga (comic) series.Problem 2: Ratings and reviews experience is frustratingFive out of the six users found the AmazonFresh’s ratings and reviews section disappointing. This is because they expected an experience that was similar to Amazon.Let’s take a look at the page for Napa Valley’s Organic Olive Oil.Problem 3: Is it fresh? What does it look like?Grocery shopping is tactile and visceral. Users like to look at the meat and produce when they buy it. Everyone knocks on the melon or sniffs the pear before they buy it.When one user was looking at milk, she asked, “How do I know it’s fresh? What’s the expiration date?” Similarly, another user had a hard time buying grated cheese. He clicked around, fixated on the photos: “I wish there were more photos…Is the cheese long grated or short grated?”In a grocery store you can use your senses to figure out if you want to buy that basket of strawberries. Is it fresh? Is it ripe? While we’re probably years away from widespread “smell-o’vision,” this means that online marketplaces for food have to provide this information to users through picture and text. They also have to provide some indicator of freshness (AmazonFresh’s name notwithstanding).AmazonFresh is still in its infancy. It has a long way to go, but if the organization can make a few incremental changes to the search, the ratings sections, the pictures and the information it provides, it can vastly improve the user experience. I, for one, may start actually shopping on it.
