Amber Light On Dell Start Up After Removing Dust

Why is my Acer laptop's charging light blinking? (read details below)

It could mean your laptop battery is dead or the battery sensors need to be recalibrated . When you keep laptops on charging for long times often or always then the sensors lose track of how much charge they can actually carry and their charge holding capacity.Try these steps and they will surely help.Simple battery reinsertion: just shut down the laptop , remove charging cable, remove battery, if there is dust build up , remove it . Reinsert the battery And try booting it. Maybe it will work. Otherwise try next method.Recalibration: Remove battery , connect charging cable , start the laptop. Once you are in search device manager -> batteries . you will see 3 names in the field opened like Microsoft acpi compatible battery and some other names. Select all 3 and one by one uninstall them. If it asks to restart simply ignore and shut down.(don't restart, I repeat.) Now insert the battery back and the charging cable and boot the laptop. You will see it working normally and charging light stops flickering. If this too doesn't work try next method.Google battery health view by nirisoft and download it. Once downloaded , extract the .zip file and launch battery state view. You will see a lot of data ignore it and move down to column of designed capacity and current capacity and battery health. If battery health is below 30 ,it means battery is weak and needs replacement soon.Try to check the charger for damage. Also check the charging socket on your laptop. Some laptop check if the charger is original and give problems if it isn't.

Router not working; power, LAN1, LAN2, LAN3, and LAN4 lights only blinking.?

There was a power outage in my area yesterday, when the power came back I tried to reconnect to my wifi but It didn t even show up on the available networks screen. When I went to check on my router I saw that none of the lights were on like they normally would be. Instead, the Power, LAN4, LAN3, LAN2, and LAN1 lights were blinking at the same time for 1 second every 2ish seconds. It s never happened before. I m not much of a tech guy so any help would be appreciated...please. Thanks

I have a Dell laptop. On the screen there are some white bright spots (dead pixels maybe). What should I do now?My warranty period is also expired.

Thanks for A2A.First enter into bios and see if the spot is visible in bios or not. If yes then you may need to repair/replace your lcd.No any one can help you out from this situation except service centre. And they are not the dead pixels. They are white pots which generally occurs. Better you contact service centre for lcd repairing.Hope this helps.

How do I fix the problem "plugged in not charging" on my Dell Inspiron laptop?

Thanks for A2ATry the following and hope that it fixes.Check if there’s any BIOS update available related to battery for your laptop model.Download and try to update but before updating perform below steps:-Power off the system.Disconnect any external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) from the computer.Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the battery from it.Press and hold the power button for 20 to 30 seconds to release the residual charge from the laptop.Reconnect the battery and the AC Adapter.Once the system is powered on and booted properly, re-seat the battery. Check if you still get the error or not.Boot the system to BIOS, tapping the F2 key on the Dell logo screen when you power on the system.Press F9 key to load BIOS defaults. Once done, press F10 key to save and exit. System will restart. Check if the error is still there.Try and wiggle the AC Adapter cable and check if that makes a difference.Alternatively, you could also try below steps:-With above 20% battery left, unplug the power cord from both laptop and wall outlet.Open the bottom cover and Remove the batteryDry Wipe the battery connectors with a clean cloth several times.Put the battery back in and cover,Turn the laptop on with battery only. Now plug power cord into side of laptop, then into wall outlet.Check if it returns to charging state.

Dell Inspiron 546 double beep no video?

Hello,

My girlfriend has a Dell Inspiron 546 that her dog knocked off of a table and ever since it won't boot. It wasn't even that big of a fall. Anyway, the fans spin up, the leds light up, and then it gives two beeps followed by a pause then the two beeps again until I turn it off. I don't get any video either. The front led blinks amber too which just indicates that there's some internal problem.

I figured it was a problem with the RAM being loose and needing to be re-seated, but I've already tried that. I've tested her RAM in my computer. I've tried different RAM sticks that I know work. I've tried using just one stick individually in each of the 4 slots one at a time and booting.

It has on-board video and I've tried a different video card.

I re-seated the CPU.

I've removed unnecessary hardware,

Still the same beep and no video

I think I've narrowed it down to either being the motherboard (maybe related to the ram slots) or the CPU.

I don't think I would be hearing the beeping if the CPU wasn't working though, so that's probably not it.

I thought maybe the ram slots were dirty but they look clean to me, plus it doesn't seem probable that all 4 slots would suffer from the same thing if it were merely dusty.

Is there anything else that it could be? Are there any more tips that I could do to try to narrow the problem down?

Thank you

Motherboard on Dell Inspiron 530 fried? No Timer Tick Interrupt? Please help!!?

Yesterday I was sitting at my computer desk on the phone and looked up to see my computer screen all glitchy and stac looking and froze. I turned it off and back on and same thing. A friend said it may be my video card so I removed the graphics card we added about a year or so ago. I turned it back on, and nothing changed. I then cleaned the entire computer out with canned air thinking maybe dust got clogged or something. When I turned it on then a long beep came on immediately when I pushed the power button. It frightened me so I turned it off quickly. Now when I turn it on it still looks glitchy and static-like and the Phoenix BIOS screen appears with the text No Timer Tick Interrupt. What I can gather online is that this means my motherboard is fried. Is that right? And if so, what can I replace it with? I know nothing about motherboards and I don't have a ton of money to take it somewhere. I know of the site newegg, but what motherboard will fit in the Dell Inspiron 530? It's a smaller case than others I know. I don't know if you need to know, but it has an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor. ANY advice is appreciated!!!
