An Important Advert 4 A Job Has Printed The Wrong Email Address. Can We Add This Email Address 2

My husband gets email advertisements from dating sites and I don't. Is it because of websites we visit?

It has nothing whatsoever to do with the websites you visit. It has to do with the places that know your email address, such as the forums you register on, the mailing lists you sign up for, and the number of your friends who send you "free" e-cards. Also, if your email address happens to be in the address book of someone who gets their computer taken over by a trojan, your email address gets spammed.

At work, a 65 year old grandma got spammed regularly for male enhancement products. I can assure you it has absolutely nothing to do with the websites she visited or with any sort of targeting provided by tracking cookies. Spammers spam. That's why they're called spammers. If they have an email address on their lists, they spam it without regard for the possible interests of the target.

Why is proofreading important?

Proofreading or proofreading service is a final reviewing process of the content for being it presented in front of public/ audience. Proofreading consists of two words “proof” and “read”, which implies it is a process of making a content “error-proof after reading it”. Therefore, proofreading is a process which makes it error proof while reading by oneself so that the content can serve its purpose. Proofreading makes written content fit/suitable for communicating the correct message to the target group i.e. reader, customers, audience, students, etc. It ensures that the message contained in the substance is clear for delivering the planned activity in the interest of the target group. Proofreading is reading a content with caution and mark errors if any. Proofreading means simply giving an overview of the already written document. Proofreading is nothing but re-reading what we’ve written with a fresh perspective.Proofreading gives the writer an opportunity to review their work, to ensure that it flows well, doesn’t cause the reader to stumble (unless intentional), and still conveys a clear meaning. To be simply put, Proofreading is the final stage of the editing process, focusing on surface errors such as misspellings and mistakes in grammar and punctuation. Proofreading is important to ensure that there is not any:· Grammatical error, Capitalization error, Numbering error· Spelling error· Inconsistency in the format of the document,· Misplaced words, Sentence structure error· Punctuation mistakes

What are good ways to choose a professional/proper email name/address?

Email addresses when you are a student, or from your employment will have their own formats, so I will address Personal email accounts. For Personal Email accounts, I am not an expert, but here are my thoughts and reactions:I am not impressed favorably by email addresses at "HotMail" or "Yahoo."Sorry, just my opinion. They don't seem serious.I have a negative feeling of email addresses at AOL, mostly as a feeling that people using AOL have AOL as their home page and are seeing the internet through the AOL filter. My feeling is that they are new to the internet, or never got off the on ramp. Again, just an opinion.I think that the best generic email domain is Gmail because Google is a serious and highly respected company. Also their free accounts have many great features and they do an AWESOME job filtering SPAM.I agree with Andrew Hennigan that the best short names are taken, and that "JohnSmith82" is not the format. Here is an example that I would use, if your name was Andrew James Harmon. I think that shorter is better, but remember that this is a personal email, and people responding or sending messages to you will at most only need to key in your email address one time. Mostly they will just click on it. So recognizable is more important than brevity. The following options are in the sequence I would try:Harmon@AHarmon@AJHarmon@AndrewHarmon@AndrewJHarmon@AndrewJamesHarmon@A.Harmon@A.J.Harmon@Andrew.Harmon@AndrewJ.Harmon@Andrew.James.Harmon@NOTES: I personally do not like an underscore ( _ ) between words. The emails system does not like blank spaces and inserts an _ in their place.I have used capital letters as you would in normal writing. The email systems IGNORES capital letters, treating or converting them to lower case. BUT humans find it much easier to read and recognize the add address with the capitalsExample: andrewjamesharmon vs. AndrewJamesHarmonI always advise customers to use capital letters in the same way with their domain names, unless they are so short and universally recognizable that it is not needed. So fedex or Fedex are both immediately recognized, as opposed to dogwalkingandshampoowithtlc vs. DogWalkingAndShampooWithTLC

Is my husband lying? Can a hacker send emails and reply to Craigslist personal ads?

I have recently found some very questionable emails in my husband's account. In his inbox, sent mail, and trash folder, I found messages that said replied as well. He is claiming that someone hacked into his email and sent these messages out to these girls wanting to meet up and this is his first time and some said his name and number. He said these hackers can find out any information that they want etc. including his work and travel schedule. One of the emails stated where he would be out of town on a particular day. I find it so hard to believe him when the proof was right in my face. I have been researching this and would like some input and accurate up to date answers. The emails all got deleted as soon as I said I seen them. Now he claims the hacker did that too. To me a hacker wants to know and figure out your banking account info and social and or send links in your email to get ppl to click on to get a virus. I can't believe how far he has gone with all of this lying. Every question to him has a clever response as to why a hacker would take the time or do this to him. He says his work schedule is out there somewhere on the Internet. Who in the world would go to all this trouble? Why not just be honest with me? At the same time I want answers and need someone to tell me if this is at all possible? Some of the other emails I can see that they could be taken as spam. But not the sent mail. Don't you have to be on a pornography site to start getting these types of Spam?

What font is best to use when typing business letters and other correspondence?

If "best" means most easily read and compact (many words in small space) then Times New Roman at 12 pt. is a good rule of thumb. The font was created for the New York times because it was easily read and because it is compact - great for a newspaper.Otherwise, choice of font may be guided by the broader context of your corporate image, in which you establish normative visual cues which are associated with your business, however subconsciously they may work.In our business, we have settled on Cambria, which appears in various weights and styles in our letterhead, publications, etc. It is a bit "fatter" than Times, which makes it easy to read.So - think about EVERYTHING, and try various fonts in various styles and sizes, to determine which is really YOU. But bear in mind that for web pages you will either need to substitute a widely available font (we use Georgia), or otherwise use web fonts which are uploaded to the browser automatically. Otherwise, if you are too far off the beaten path of widely used fonts, be aware that the client system will use something else if the font is not locally available. That's not necessarily a problem, but anticipate the possibility that Arial (for sans-serif) and Times (for serif) will probably be the go-to fonts if yours is not on the client system. Do some tests to see the actual results. Remember that, for PDF's, the font you use may be attached to the document itself.Hope that helps.
