Ancient Athens Reconciliation Agreement

Plz..answer dis political science... i need more explanation about force theory... and Social contract theory?

explain this...
1. force theory- it maintains that states must have been created through force, by some great warriors who imposed their will upon the weak.
2. Social contract theory- It asserts that the early states must have been formed by deliberate and voluntary compact among the people to form a society and organized government for their common good. This theory justifies the right of the people to revolt against a bad ruler.

Ancient Athens reconciliation agreement?

To start, let me try and explain the situation. I am in college taking a history class where we are to play roles of people from 403 bc Athens. We have to participate at the assembly pnyx (Picture congress trying to pass a bill to understand what that is.) and argue laws and legislation that would be passed back then. Hopefully someone likes Greece history!

I play the part of Lycon, one of the three accusers of Socrates. The first point to be brought up will be the Reconciliation agreement. (I would explain that, but if you don't know what it is you probably can't help me anyway, No offense.) I am a radical Democrat and as such, I 100% don't want this to happen.

So there will be a proposal presented on our first assembly that I am supposed to help fight. I don't know how to go about this really and that is my question. I fully understand my character and how he feels personally, but I have never had to do any type of formal debating like this before. Just how would I argue against this?

Keep in mind I'm not asking for anyone to do this for me, but some tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. :)

How did Greek mythology end?

I heard one particular story about how Greek mythology ended. It seems a nice story but probably as mystical as whole mythology.Collapse of Mythology started with a born of Ares. He was born as a war deity - son of Zeus and Hera. There were regions in Greece where each god has to reign and protect such as Athens of Athena and Sparta of Ares.Athena and Ares were completely different siblings. Athena cares of about peace whereas Ares is keen about war. Thus, they were fighting quite a bit. (Athens vs Sparta)Ares is not liked by many gods due to his nature especially his father Zeus.Even though he is a war deity, Ares faces humiliation in many ways. They put him in a jar as a POW for 13 months, he got injured by mortal Diomedes in Trojan war etc..He was a like a spoiled kid though, declared wars for no particular reasons. He kills someone just because he likes to kill. In all the adventures, Ares is saved by 11 other gods of Olympus except Zeus. After a lot of fighting, Ares planned to terrify the world. He had four companions; Phobos (fear), Deioms (violence), Eris (unrest) and Enyo. (eris & enyo are still disputed subjects whom they are either siblings or daughters of Ares)He made massacres at Thrace and three rives were full of blood. Phobos played a significant role here and terrified all Olympus. Fear (phobos) helped a lot on terrifying all Greek Mainland.Olympus gods were not happy and they declared war to Ares. However, they lost and Olympus fell. Fear of Phobos was the main source of failure. (phobos turned into phobia in modern world)Although, gods lost the war; Zeus did not lost his throne at Olympus. It was a day of stalemate. Zeus and Ares had to agree .Zeus demanded peace, Ares would have give peace with only one condition.“From now on, none of the gods will interfere the world”Zeus had two options; either he accept or all gods would be killed. He accepted it…Zeus closed all doors to earth and mythology ended.Gods would slowly to be forgotten in Greek minds.

The Parthenon Marbles debate?

I think they should stay right where they are. The Parthenon is falling apart and the Greeks don't seem to be in much of a hurry to mend the ways of modern living concerning the building. They let the buildings fall apart on their own and it's just recently that they've only started serious work on preserving and rebuilding the Parthenon.
Granted the explosion that ripped the building apart cannot be put on the Greeks back, but ... the smog, the dirt, the automobile exhaust have all taken their toll on the marble and the sculptures that remained there. You can see the vast difference between the marble Lord Elgin brought to England the the pitiful state of the work that was left behind.
The museum had kept the marbles safe and sound all these years, whereas the Greeks have let their Parthenon deteriorate to a bad state.
I think that giving them to the Greeks would be a mistake. It's a "world treasure" now and it really doesn't matter where they sit in the long run. But it does matter how well they are taken care of and the English have been doing a very good job of it so far.
Why fix something that isn't broken?
