What does the song little red corvette by prince mean?

Prince is comparing a former girlfriend to a little red Corvette - a good looking, fast car - and implying that he would have been better off not tempted by the glitz but going with something a little bit more down to earth that would not have gone racing off at the first opportunity - a Vauxhall Astra, perhaps.

Prince "Little Red Corvette" Cover - anybody know of this?

I heard a cover version of Prince's Little Red Corvette recently and I'm trying to find out who does it. The tempo was slower and simpler than the original version and sung by an older male vocalist. Can't remember where I heard this. Maybe at a Barnes and Noble or a Starbucks.

Anybody able to help me out with this one?

Is a 1979 Red Corvette worth owning or restoring?

The 79 is not considered one of the most desirable years of the Corvette. During the late 70s and early 80s the Corvette reached its lowest-ever power levels, and highest sales levels. Consequently the car never became popular among collectors.

HOWEVER

If you're after a car that's fast, fun and easy to modify, it's a great choice. The car is mechanically similar to corvettes from 1968-1982, which means it can be equipped with any chevy small block, and (with some work) a big block. That means your power options are virtually limitless. You can also choose from a wide variety of suspension components if you're looking to make a car that handles well. You can also change the look of the car by swapping body components for the pieces from other Corvette years (1968-82). So you have some real flexibility on aesthetics.

So in summary, it'd make an awesome foundation for a project car. But probably not a great investment as a collector vehicle.
