Android Media Storage Help

What is taking up my Android phone storage?

It's mostly a combination of files downloaded by apps and their intermediate data.Take WhatsApp for example. It has a folder in internal storage called WhatsApp>Databases. There are many database files which keep track of the message history. Over time it piles up a lot. One solution is to backup the chats to Google Drive and delete all database files except the most recent one. Then there are apps like Facebook and Instagram which download posts, photos and keep it in storage. It enables us to look at posts previously seen without Internet connection but this again starts piling up over time. So go to Settings>Apps and delete all data of the particular app. It will be as though the app is installed for the first time. Just login again and you are good to go.Finally move junk photos and videos of WhatsApp to SD card. That is the single biggest occupier of internal memory.
