Android Phone Says Storage Is Full Yet Still Saves Pictures And Video

Why is my phone storage full even after I've deleted virtually all unnecessary apps and media?

Have you looked good under the carpet? For example, being in a WhatsApp group who sends a lot of videos with autodownload enabled can rip trough several gigabytes at once. Also WhatsApp has this nice attitude - you receive a nice 20 megabytes flick. You send it back to 40 friends. Now you have 820 megabytes of space taken by that very own video (WhatsApp generate a copy of each media sent every single darn time)That was my #1 culprit for wasted space.Any chat app capable of showing videos, pictures or play sounds has the potential to have multiple redundant copies of the same file.Take your time learning where they are saved and annihilate any unneeded media. Also check twice your installed apps. Some games might be taking from some hundred to few thousands megabytes of your space.Avoid to fall into the first most advertised automatic cleaning app and learn yourself how to move inside your phone memory and get rid of lint (not before taking a good full backup)If you can't succeed in your first try, just sort your address book and backup it with messages, backup also everything else and clean the slate with a good old factory reset. And if I have not mentioned it yet, backup everything, because a factory reset will blow away any data stored inside your phone by design.

How do you transfer android pictures on phone to sd card?

Put the sd card inside of your droid (im assuming you have a Droid 1,2,X, or RAZR, if not it should work the same still) go to settings and there should be something along the lines of data or data usage click that and go to your SD card move the files there...no if your computer has a SD card slot just plug it right in if not you can buy a USB SD adapter at Best Buy, Office Depot, Walmart for 5$ or less and you should be good :)

Why does it say storage is full on an Android when I have deleted everything?

Typically, you’ll have data on your sd card and that’s what you’ve been deleting. Some phones send pictures and videos to the phones memory by default, mine does.I don’t understand why android deprecated the sd card, but you could once point most program installs to the sd card, now you can’t unless you’re rooted, so all your installs are on phone memory now.Downloads typically go into the phones memory also.My “showbox” sends downloads to the phone’s memory, I think I can change that behavior but it’s a process, so I just send the movie into the sd card.So when you’re deleting files that you don’t need, make sure you’re in the phone’s memory rather than the sd card.Bring up all your vids and “move” them to either your sd card or another drive, once “moved” if they’re still there, make sure your new copy works, then delete them from phone memory manuallyIf you’ve deleted or moved those big files and still get the message, you probably have a bunch of big apps, so you might need to remove those you’re not using.I’m interested in finding out of this worked, so please post back either way,Good luck

Photos are taking up my android device's storage space? Help!?

So I own an LG Optimus L7II and recently it says i'm running out of storage space. I checked my storage and apparently my "photos and videos" are taking up 700mb of space, which is weird because all my photos and videos are saved on my SD card. So I removed my SD card and checked again and it still says it's taking up 700mb when there are only 2 photos saved internally in my phone. Why is it still taking up 700mb if there's nothing there? Is there a way to delete all that used up space?

Does storage affect the phone's camera?

I don't know about how this works.
I'm just wondering if my phone (android) full storage memory affect the quality of the camera's pictures.
Because I have over 3000 camera photos, 3000+ sreenshots, 2000+ downloads and other.
Does full memory affect the quality of picture-taking?

My phone keeps saying insufficient storage??!?!?!!?

My android phone keeps saying i have "insufficient storage available" whenever I try to download something. I have plenty of space on my device (7.2 GB left) and I have deleted all unnecessary apps, photos, and videos. Also, I've heard people say I need to "transfer my applications over to the SD card" but I haven't downloaded the app yet, so I can't do that. Any help? Anyone at all !!!!

How do i transfer videos from my Android to my PC?

Are they videos that you recorded? If so, and if I'm remembering correctly, then you should find the videos in a folder on your memory card called DCIM. The video should be in a folder within DCIM called Camera. And the file will be the date and time you recorded the video. For example "2012-02-06_14-28-53.....3gp"

Are you sure that you recorded them as videos, and not just photos? Videos should be saved as .3gp files, whereas photos are saved as .jpg files. You may, however, need a video converter in order to play the videos on your computer. Something like Any Video Converter should do the job.
