Angling Is Not Difficult When You Know How To Get It Done

How difficult is it to learn fly fishing?

It is somewhat difficult, but very rewarding. Since the casting motions involved are kind of unnatural, it will take some time to get proficient at this. You must go out every chance you get, or you will lose your momentum. One or two outings a year will not do it.While you are developing as a caster, spend your “off time” learning about stream insects, reading the water, etc. There is a lot to learn, but it can be done in small steps. On the one hand, fly fishing is very simple, because there is very little “machinery” involved. It can still appear overwhelming to the uninitiated.Fly fishing for warm water species is somewhat easier than say, trout. Many will recommend starting out this way. The full depth of the sport, however, is best realized when targeting trout. Saltwater fly fishing is also very rewarding, but in my opinion, you should start with freshwater.

Is trout fishing difficult? Can I catch rainbow trout without fly fishing?

Catching Tout is not difficult but catching a lot of them on a consistent basis requires knowledge and experience. I do not fly fish, I'm a spin fisherman and I am extremely successful at Trout fishing. I recommend 4lb flurocarbon line, a 5'-5'6" fishing pole, and use a size 8 hook. Any brands will do for the beginning of your fishing adventures. If you find you really enjoy it, then upgrade your gear to more expensive names like shimano, Daiwa, St. Croix etc etc. Look up on the internet where Trout are stocked in the area that you want to fish. Powerbait and nightcrawlers are two of my go-to baits that I fish with. Small minnows and mealworms have also proven successful baits to use for many as well. You can look up on youtube “tips on how to catch Trout"…that will give you a little insight into how other people are fishing and what they are doing to hook up. Everything can be explored on the internet….from what kind of gear is recommended to how to put fishing line on your own reel including what knots to use when attaching your hook to your line etc etc. Look up the habitat that Trout prefer. On youtube, if you see people fishing a river for Trout, look at the spot/hole they are fishing in and take notes of what it all looks like. They are fishing at that spot for a reason…because the Trout are there! If you're ever in Connecticut, I'd be happy to show you the ropes. Fish on!

Where is the best fishing location in Penang?

Why do fishing rods bend?

There are several reasons for parabolic bend of a fishing rod. Casting, bait presentation, & deferring line breakage are valid points. I place more emphasis on the reel’s drag system to stop line breakage, but on the hook set, definitely rod action plays a big part in differing the parting of ways.In the applications of how I fish, the parabolic bend of a rod is more significant towards a lever system. Lift isn't an overall factor if you are applying pressure on a 1,000lbs fish. But, correctly applying the utmost leverage on a fish will help you land it. There's no doubt that how & where the rod bends does make a difference in landing large fish.Conversely, there's actually four elements that allow fish to be caught:LeverageDragTorqueCaloric Output.Heres a link where I describe how all of these elements land big fish. This link does not describe how the parabolic bend applies to the different aspects of fishing. But most of those aspects have been described in previous answers to this thread.Patrick Avelino's answer to From a physics standpoint, how does a fisherman haul in a fish that can be up to 5 times his weight or more?Good luck & tight lines!

Does fishing hurt the fish?

hey man, if you are talking about the hook going into the fishes mouth then the answer i would have to give you is no. inside the mouth is very hard and rigid. the mouth holds no nerves. that enables the fish to eat pretty much what it wants. it protects them from fins on other fish while they are eating another fish and other hard objects that they might consume. if wondering if hurting the fish is stopping you from fishing, dont sweat it, no you are not going to hurt them. if you are planning on eating the fish and if you are wondering if they feel pain while you clean them....hell yea they feel that but there is something else that can help with that as well. just pack them with ice as soon as you catch them. they are cold blooded and their body temp will fall and they will pretty much go to sleep and they probably will not feel anything when you are cutting their heads off..me....i dont worry about it, streight out the live well and right to the cleaning table..to each is own...good luck and good fishin
