Animal Crossing New Leaf Friend Code Exchange

My friend can't visit my town, or me his in Animal Crossing New Leaf.?

So me and my friend are trying to visit each other town on New leaf. But it wont let me visit his, & he cant visit. Mine. It gives me error code 018-0512. Now I have reset my router multiple times, & even did the IP DMZ thing Nintendo tell you to do. Doesn't work, period. Now I was wondering, is it because his game is new? He just got it a couple days ago, maybe he has to complete something? Please don't say its the IP thing. I already did that. Anything else would be great. Thanks!

There are ways to spend time on the island without getting too sunburnt.

Try carrying an umbrella (with the island, you'll have to use a Design), wearing a hat, or even a face-covering mask.

As long as you are not on the island during the day unexposed, your tan will gradually go away.

In Animal Crossing New Leaf is it possible to get new fruit without trading with friends?

No, it's not the only way to get fruits.

Once you start your duties as mayor and get settled into town, Isabelle will give you a basket with a random fruit that you do not already have. Afterwards, you can get the other fruits by talking/running errands for the animals in your town. I started with peaches, received cherries from Isabelle, and an animal gave me apples within the first day. However, the chance that they give you a fruit is rare, but you don't need to have friends give you fruits to get them all. It helps, but it's not required. As for the whole "mail fruits to villagers to get other fruits in return", I'm not sure if that's in this game, but it's worth a shot! You'll get all of the fruits in time.

Also, I get where you're coming from with the whole "do not want people wrecking my town" deal. Of course, in this game, you have the option where and when to save your game, so that's something. I suppose you could always have your game autosave before people arrive in your town and, if they destroy/wreck it, you could just reset the game, but then...what about Mr. Resetti...? Oh noes!

EDIT: To Xerandiam, Isabelle will give you a basket with 3 foreign fruits after you have finished your registration as a citizen and fully become the mayor (after you mail letters, catch fish, get your picture taken). She'll say something along the lines of "My mother gave me a bunch of fruit native to my town and said that 'good puppies share with others'" or something like that. It's not a random event, as I've tried this consecutive times. It's just a "Welcome to town" gift from her.
