Anime About Fear Of People

People who hate anime spoilers?

Let me first start off by saying that I do hate spoilers, and I'm sure many other people feel the same. But, there is a way to eliminate the fear of spoilers, and that is to read the manga/series that the anime is based off of. Why don't people do this?
I mean, there are genuine reasons for people not reading the manga. Like, for battle series, action sequences are hard to visualize, battle effects can't be heard, etc.
Maybe some people just don't like to read. But, if you're watching subtitled anime, you're still reading the dialogue nonetheless, so both involve extensive reading.
If people are afraid of spoilers, why not just read the manga to prevent it? All reasons that people give for not reading manga are valid, but doesn't the benefit of not fearing spoilers overweigh all those reasons? Also, you can't just tell people to stop revealing spoilers to solve the problem, because, let's face it, the internet will always be full of spoilers and you can't stop those people from leaking them. So, just read the manga to prevent this. Comments?

Why do so many people have an anime phobia?

It's really about marketing. If you think about it, there is a general perception that the certain type of person who watches animes, and that person those guys described is who is out front and center marketing the genre to the masses. I, for example, watch football, have a good job, drink on the weekends with my friends, and sleep with my cute girlfriend. But I'm not the poster child for anime and generally keep it to myself.

Your DC and Marvel comics used to suffer the same stigma until it became a pervasive in our movie culture thanks to guys like Kevin Smith and Stan Lee. Nobody mocks the guy who reads comics that way anymore.

Realize though that anime is a large genre. A respectable action anime like Bleach is also put into the same bucket with weirdos like Excel Saga. So there's a lot to get over to the general public before it'll ever be accepted like Spiderman and Ironman. You have to break the negative associations that have been created by positive ones that everyone can agree with.

Let's be honest, I'd probably do those shallow, mindless dogs. Just wouldn't keep 'em around for TV time.

How come people are judged for watching anime?

Many people here already gave good points, but I thought I could add my 2 cents so here goes:First we have to realize that any other country of the world and Japan are not the same when it comes to culture. Therefore, something from japanese origin will be questionable in people's eyes because of certain things us Westerns wouldn't understand at first. After all, japanese products are made for the japanese. If it gains enough attention/money and they want to risk it, they may internationalize that product. Doesn't mean it will stop having that japanese touch. When it comes to anime, one thing that comes as a culture shock for many westerns is the fact that an animated cartoon does not necessarily have to be for children. Anime has many genres, it's not just for kids. It can also be for teens, adults, girls, guys, the LGBT community and more. Meanwhile, the american cartoons are usually aimed at children (not all though, with cartoons like South Park, Happy Tree Friends and similar others around, which makes me wonder why is cartoon still thought of as suitable for kids if there are cartoons made for adults?)So we have people judging those who watch anime because in their eyes, it's a cartoon and cartoons are aimed at children.Hope this helps.

Why do most people fear furries?

Sounds like your parents need to be educated in what the definitions of furry is. One definition can't sum it up - the main things they need to know however, is that Furries don't rape animals - those are Zoophiles. A small percent (about 10%) of all furries currently fursuit. An even smaller percent of those furries do anything sexual in fursuit- it is a paraphilia - Same kind of thing happens in anime cosplay, star trek fandom, star wars fandom, and every other geek culture out there.

There are some good resources out there. I recommend listening to a couple of peices on Furry News Network. Links below
