Annotated Bibliography Help

Annotated bibliography help?

Obviously, my annotated bib doesn't show the correct formatting. But, an annotated bib is basically almost like a summary of the resource. I would say to find at least three sources on your "one" main topic. You can find another perspective to add in a rhetorical paragraph if you'd like.

Ervin, N., & Spencer, G. (2005). Assessing community hospice needs and
preferences. Journal of Hospice & Palliative Nursing, 7(3), 164-173.
The authors of this article presented the specific results of a community assessment and framework designed to determine future hospice service needs/preferences as a guideline for other communities to plan, implement, and evaluate their own hospice services. Information and data was gathered by surveying individuals across the community, and included both urban and rural healthcare providers, family caregivers, patients that were currently receiving hospice services, and non-hospice caregivers whose family member had died at a hospital. Key findings included the desire of both patients and family members for short-term home respite care, and the need for more education of the community and healthcare professionals about the concept and services of hospice. A major limitation of the study was that it was a small, nonrandomized sample from just one hospice and hospital; however a major strength of the study was the presentation of the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model as a template for other communities to develop their own assessment, analysis, and implementation of hospice services. This article is relevant to our population in that it provides a template for gathering more information about specific needs in our community.

WHAT IS AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY? An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited. --------------------------------------..... ANNOTATIONS VS. ABSTRACTS Abstracts are the purely descriptive summaries often found at the beginning of scholarly journal articles or in periodical indexes. Annotations are descriptive and critical; they expose the author's point of view, clarity and appropriateness of expression, and authority. Return to the top --------------------------------------..... THE PROCESS Creating an annotated bibliography calls for the application of a variety of intellectual skills: concise exposition, succinct analysis, and informed library research. First, locate and record citations to books, periodicals, and documents that may contain useful information and ideas on your topic. Briefly examine and review the actual items. Then choose those works that provide a variety of perspectives on your topic. Cite the book, article, or document using the appropriate style. Write a concise annotation that summarizes the central theme and scope of the book or article. Include one or more sentences that (a) evaluate the authority or background of the author, (b) comment on the intended audience, (c) compare or contrast this work with another you have cited, or (d) explain how this work illuminates your bibliography topic.

MLA annotated bibliography help?

I understand that there is two parts on every source, one is citation part and the second is the annotation part like the summary? If I have room to type more after a citation do I start my annotation part on the same line or do I press enter? Do you put headers on an annotated bibliography and if so what info. full name? date? class? Do you put a title on the top of the page like “annotated bibliography”? And everything needs to be double spaced right? Also what order in alphabetical by author what if there is no author? I’ve been to Purdue Owl and other universities resources but their not to helpful.

Right after you are done citing your source, just give a brief summary in your own words on what that source was about. The annotation should be about 2 or 3 sentences, or long enough for you to get to the point of what the source covered.
