Another Question About Ombre Hair

I have a question on Ombre Hair?

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. Watch Victoria Newman on the Young & the Restless (her dyed blond hair had been growing for months & months), now Chloe on Y&R has two-tone hair, and another on Entertainment Tonight, she's one of the correspondence. Chloe Kardashian, Drew Barrymore & Guiliana Rancic (btw, she just had double mastectomy), Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Bilson,Jennifer Lopez (when she's not wearing hair extensions) have had their hair done like that (letting their highlights fade) for years! The other night, I even spotted Ivanka Trump's hair, she's letting her hair grow naturally on the Apprentice. They call that look ombre hair color — darker roots, lighter ends — but colorists sees that fading. Women are wanting dimensional color with natural highlights that look like they've been playing out in the sun.

Know your school policy mandating a "natural color, brown, blond, black, natural red/auburn." before dyeing your hair pink, for example: 3-21-12 "Honor Student Banned from School for Pink Hair." a 6th grader who was rewarded for getting good grades.

Recently from YA HAIR: "I have red tips on my fringe, I got in trouble at school and they want it out by tomorrow."
And another: "I dyed it purple. It was supposed to wash out after about a month. Now, many months later, it's still there. And it looks really stupid because it's grown out about three or four inches from my roots. I'm also not suppose dot have it at my job. I've tried dying my hair the same color as my natural hair color but that didn't work."

Ombre hair question!?? Help?

You can do ombre yourself, but it's easier if you have a friend to help you. But anyway, I would wait at least two weeks before using the kit to give your hair a chance to get healthy again.

Henna Ombre question?

Here's a new article I found re: henna, which is supposed to be better for you than reg. box dye. It's a good read!
Google: Henna for Hair Warnings.

If you’re using Henna which says it’s going to turn your hair from black to blonde, then it seems like your using compound Henna, which is not 100% natural. Without getting too scientific, compound henna is when you mix the Lawson in with a chemical like, metallic salts. The most commonly used ones are Copper, Lead acetate and Nickel. This can arguably damage your hair, leaving it dry, brittle and coarse.

That dip-dyed, dark-at-the-roots, light-at-the-ends look that half of Bondi is sporting looks, like, sooo last season.
Super colourist and John Frieda ambassador Harry Josh (responsible for Mary Kate Olsen and Rose Byrne’s recent brunette transformations) confirmed the news backstage at Zac Posen. 9-22-12.

Senior colourist at Oscar Oscar in Sydney’s Paddington, Michael Kelly, agrees.
“It’s ratty, it’s tatty. It doesn’t look luxurious. It looks cheap, like your colour has grown out and you haven’t been able to afford to go to the salon and get your colour done. Girls see pictures on street style blogs and they want that hard, ombre look, but everyone ends up looking the same,” says Kelly.

What do you know about "Ombre hair"?

As a hairdresser I can tell you that ombrés are similar to tattoos.Cheap ombrés are not good. And good ombrés are not cheap.Good ombrés are also time consuming, so you can expect to be at the salon for around 3 hours. If you are interested in getting one then do your research before hand. Find a reputable stylist and bring a picture of what you want. The stylist should be honest with you about whether the look is achievable and a cost estimate. A good ombré is expensive, but it doesn't need to be touched up every few weeks.

What color for ombre hair?

I have pretty dark brown hair and really light eyes that are like in-between blue and green. Also my eyebrows and eyelashes are really dark too!

What would look cuter:

Brown with red at the bottom like this? http://gossipgirl.alloyentertainment.com...

or

Brown with like a strawberry blonde like this? http://jessssmitty.blogspot.com/2012/02/...

Please don't say something like don't do either

Thanks:)

How do you make DIY ombre dye for dark hair?

This one has varying results, but it is completely DIY, all natural, and much cheaper than any actual hair dye.Steep 3-4 teabags of chamomile tea in a cup of water for a few minutes. Add a couple teaspoons of honey, a couple teaspoons of lemon juice, a teaspoon of cinnamon, and a little coconut oil if you'd like. Shake well to combine. Brush (like with a hair dye brush/paintbrush) or spray this where you want your hair to be lightened, and sit in the sun until it is dry. Your hair should lighten some, and you can repeat this once a week until your hair is as light as you want! Why this works: Honey contains hydrogen peroxide, which is released upon contact with water, and it moisturizes your hair too! Lemon juice is a little harsh, but it's the fastest way to fade your hair colour, especially with the sun. Cinnamon also contains hydrogen peroxide, and is the most effective for darker hair. The chamomile tea in the sun gently fades hair. This combo can be a little drying, so coconut oil should help keep your hair moisturized.Disclaimer: All hair types are different, and some could be damaged by this combo, even though it's pretty gentle. Mine, personally, has never been adversely affected by this.If done right, this looks super natural. Good luck!

My ombre hair is greasy?

Ever since I've gotten my ombre hair I find that my roots have gotten really greasy (especially in the bangs area) which is weird cause my hair is naturally dry. I can't even straighten my hair cause it'll feel extremely greasy. I do wash my hair everyday, although I know it's bad I have to cause if I don't my hair will look so gross the next day. I shower at night and because my hair is kinda thick, it won't be completely dry right before I go to sleep. Also I try to avoid touching my hair as much. I've never had this problem before so please help!

How much do salons in Green Bay cost to dye my hair ombré?

It really depends on the salon and even the specific stylist within the salon. One salon could tell you (for example) that an ombre is $100 for stylist A and $150 for stylist B, and salon # 2 could tell you $200 for stylist A and $300 for stylist C. Just depends. You will have to call around for prices. Also another factor of price is your hair.

What to do with my unnoticeable ombre hair?

If you bleach it again with an "At-home" kit it could be damaging. Going darker with a kit like that is okay, but going lighter is risky. You could do it the natural way by squeezing lemon juice in your hair and sitting/walking in the sun for about 30 minutes+ each day. It would take about 1-2 weeks of doing this for it to be slightly noticeable and about 5-15 weeks for this to make a big difference. If you want this process to not take so long, you could scrape some money together and get your hair highlighted a salon, such as first choice or something similar. This would not damage it, and would be fast too. Good luck!

How can I achieve ombre hair at home?

I'm sorry to say You can't!  Practising the art of color only looks easy. There's much more to it, which is why there are cosmetology schools. The basics of blending, foiling, and formulating hair color should never be done at home, not even with your BFF.Please leave it to a pro.
