Any Dog Experts That Can Help With This Situation

Any cane corso or other mastiff type experts out there?

about a year ago i had conversation with a cane corso breeder and he mentioned something about a root cane corso aka italian bullterrier, he said that they are very rare and have the bully gene in them, do you know where i can find information on them?

And also how well would you say the tolerance to pain of a cane corso is, not for fighting but for example lets say someone attacks you on the street with a weapon, and starts hitting your dog, would they whimper once struck with the weapon or actually ignore the pain like bull and terrier types, I ask this question because I have seen various videos of non gaurd dogs like bullterrier breeds actually ignoring pain to get the job done weather its dog fighting or defending their owners even while being struck with a weapon, how well would a cane corso do in this type of situation not dog fighting but protecting its owner from an attack.

I know my question sounds kind of amuture but I didnt know any other way to put it have experience with alot of molloser and bullterrier type dogs, but this question has been on my mind for a while now cause I never been in a situation where my dog had to protect us, she is a female bullmastiff x cane corso 23 months old with a higher prey drive than most mastiffs I came across and loves tug of war, she;s also more athletic and have more wind than most bullmastiff and corsos that ive seen and not as large, she resembles a large pitbull or american bulldog.

I know it is my job to keep my dogs out of harms way and try my best to avoid this kind of situation, I dont want an a trained attack dog nor do I want an aggressive dog, my dog has a balanced temperament and I plan to keep it that way, she can be around anything, dogs, people, and even pet cats, not sure about strays. But my main concern is about the whole pain tolerance thing.

here is a video of her and a brown and white pitbull, she is the tan dog in the video

Paralyzed dog help with your personal experience put down or will he recover?

Is a doggie wheelchair an option? The dog will probably need a diaper, but if lots of life is still there, then a set of wheels may be an option.

I'd ask for a referral to a specialist to see if you can at least get a diagnosis. WIth the diagnosis, you can choose better.

My dog ate a small piece of metal, how do I handle such situation?

When an animal ingests anything made of metal, there is a potential for the metal to 1) damage the GI tract or 2) become toxic to the dog as it is broken down in the digestive system. The best thing to do in any situation where you’re not sure of the outcome—call your veterinarian. It is possible that he/she will advise you to let the object pass normally, but it is always best to call and talk to someone at the vet’s office where you can give them more detail about the object and dog in question.

Grandpa hates my dog actually all dogs?

just tell him its your dog, you love it, and whether he likes it or not your keeping it.

How much will a Papillon irritate dog allergies?

I don't know..But I also have dog allergies. I wash my baby about 2 a week with allergy shampoo. You can get it at Pet Smart or on-line. Its called Allergen Reducing Shampoo and its works great. Its the only thing that has worked thus far. Plus he even sleeps with me.....that's how great it works!!!! Good luck to her and I with the best.

My wife's dog is trying to bite me. If she won't get him training or put down what can I do? How can I ger her to understand that it’s me or the dog?

You don’t get a healthy dog put down just because you don’t understand it’s behavior. Listen to what any Animal Experts & Long Term Dog Owners say to you in replies, they know it’s not just the dog get’s trained, it’s the owners. The fact that you’d issue an Ultimatum to your wife on this matter is a bit crazy. I’d hope if you were ever to issue it she chooses the dog. Ive recently seen some of the most hilarious and humane animal behavior on Youtube videos and I can’t understand why your solution to the dog’s behavior is to MURDER IT.Have you watched to see if there’s a significant difference in how she treats the dog over how you treat it? Does she molly coddle the dog and curry favour with it rather than have Pack Leader control over it? Does she walk around smelling of doggie treats by any chance - have you checked her purse & pockets? LOL!At least you’ve come here and asked the Q. That was a good move. Hopefully you’ll get some cracking good answers pointing you in the right direction. Maybe the dog sees you as an Intruder, or a Rival for Affection. It’s likely. Why not watch some Youtube videos on Dog Training or all 3 of you go walking the dog together so she can impose calm with you there. You need to LEARN, not just think “It’s me or the dog”. I’m surprised - if she already knows how the dog treats you - that she hasn’t been a lot more proactive about its’ training already!
