Any good book suggestions ?

I got a perfect one. Weapon: A Lanie Holden Novel by Alexei Samul. Search for it on Amazon. It's got its own brand of supernatural, kind of like the whole demon summoning with pentagrams thing, only one of the demons is a 15 year old girl and she's not really a demon, but she's got a supernatural power that destroys matter.

Good book suggestions for a picky reader?

"Room" by Emma Donoghue:

To five-year-old Jack, Room is the entire world. It is where he was born and grew up; it's where he lives with his Ma as they learn and read and eat and sleep and play. At night, his Ma shuts him safely in the wardrobe, where he is meant to be asleep when Old Nick visits.

Room is home to Jack, but to Ma, it is the prison where Old Nick has held her captive for seven years. Through determination, ingenuity, and fierce motherly love, Ma has created a life for Jack. But she knows it's not enough...not for her or for him. She devises a bold escape plan, one that relies on her young son's bravery and a lot of luck. What she does not realize is just how unprepared she is for the plan to actually work.

"Sharp Objects" by Gillian Flynn:

Words are like a road map to reporter Camille Preaker’s troubled past. Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, Camille’s first assignment from the second-rate daily paper where she works brings her reluctantly back to her hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls.

"White Girl Problems" by Babe Walker:

Babe Walker, center of the universe, is a painstakingly manicured white girl with an expensive smoothie habit, a proclivity for Louboutins, a mysterious mother she's never met, and approximately 50 bajillion Twitter followers. But her "problems" have landed her in shopping rehab--that's what happens when you spend $246,893.50 in one afternoon at Barneys. Now she's decided to write her memoir, revealing the gut-wrenching hurdles she's had to overcome in order to be perfect in every way, every day. Hurdles such as:

- I hate my horse.
- Every job I've ever had is the worst job I've ever had.
- He's not a doctor, a lawyer, or a prince.
- I'll eat anything, as long as it's gluten-free, dairy-free, low-carb, low-fat, low-calorie, sugar-free, and organic.

In an Adderall-induced flash of inspiration, Babe Walker has managed to create one of the most enjoyable, unforgettable memoirs in years.

How good is David Baldacci? Any book suggestions?

I have read a few of Baldacci's titles. I would say some are really good!!The bad : Most books would start off on a high note, intriguing situations and characters mostly from FBI, Secret Service or the like. But not all books I read were even limping around the same high by the time you hit 150-200. "Zero Day" could have lost some pages. Almost all plots were deciphered; although most were decent. "Split Second" could have done with a better ending and more lovable characters. Now to the good from among Baldacci books. Some very well developed characters and memorable stories; ones which you sure would read a second time. "Absolute Power" was amazing for great characterisation great situations and some really dramatic scenes in the midst of all action. You just cant help appreciating Luther Whitney. There are tears for his departure. At the same time Alan Richmond becomes despicable. Then there is Will Robie in "The Innocent". Amazing character, but the book is loved for its true page-turner capabilities. Is there even one chapter that you can put down the book after?? Its a you knew it kind of ending but still cant wait to read it. I recently purchased "The Target".PS: Try reading Agatha Christie for some "how the hell is that possible" endings. Poirot will make you forget or even ridicule Mr. Holmes.

"i wish i could find a good book to live in" - any suggestions?

I'm going to second "I Capture the Castle"

I saw it at Barnes & Noble yesterday and I read the back cover. It sounds like a great book to get lost in and I added it to my reading list.

If you haven't already read Inkheart and Inkspell by Corneilia Funke those are also good books to get lost in because that's exactly what they are about. The third one Inkdeath will come out in October.
