How does a girl find a good hair salon in Manhattan?

Try Antonio Prieto Salon, 127 West 20th St (http://antonioprietosalon.com/). Really first class. Antonio does many of the Fashion Week runway shows, and lots of editorial work. He also has a high-end outcall service known as Prieto Select (http://www.prietoselect.com/), which will send a world class stylist right to your hotel room or apartment to prep you for the big night. (Ever wonder how the glitterati show up at all those paparazzi-covered events looking as if they just stepped out of Vogue...but you *never* see photos of them going to a salon? Hmm?)Although Antonio doesn't do too many people himself any longer, if your pocketbook can take the hit AND you tell him that David Rose mentioned on Quora that you should ask for him, then MAYBE you might luck out with The Man himself. But even if not, his whole crew is pretty impressive (not surprising, since he has personally created the best salon apprentice program in New York, the graduates of which often go on to open their own places.)

Can a hair salon give me an afro?

I have recently decided to change my hair and experiment with getting an Afro. I have regular straight dirty blonde hair (unless it gets super long, then its wavy). Would a hair stylist at a salon be able to do enough with it to actually have me walking out of the office with an Afro? Money is not a problem.

Black Hair Salons in Germany?

Hi there Grace (again),
I responded to your previous q about relaxer. Sorry, I did not get the relaxer part. And you do not allow e-mail, so I am happy to find a similar q. I personally went into a salon in the Langemarckstrasse to ask about the relaxer, and the hairdresser confirmed that they do have it. There are Africans from Ghana (mainly), Togo, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Niger and Nigeria to name a few. There are also a few Gospel Churches for the African community here in Bremen.
The hairdresser where I went is:
Afi Coiffure, Langemarckstrasse 154,
28199 Bremen
Tel: 0421-5244916.
They do hair extensions, rasta, dreadlocks conrow, and have all hair care products. (And they confirmed that they have relaxer)
By the way, the ladies speak English. Because there are so many different African languages around here, the lingua franca is English. I hope this helps you.
There is also one in another area of Bremen, they call themselves "Original Black Hair Stylist".
Address: Vor dem Steintor 176, 28203 Bremen.
Tel: 0421-7941811

Does anyone know if their is any afro/black hair salons in Spain or Paris France?

Hi, I don't know of any Afro hairdressers in Sevilla or Paris but I do suggest you visit sites like http://www.treasuredlocks.com, which has a natural hair salon directory: http://www.treasuredlocks.com/salons.htm... Or http://www.blackhairplanet.com/salons/. I'd also recommend asking or searching on http://www.curlynikki.com, http://www.naturallycurly.com, http://www.nappturality.com, http://www.blackhairmedia.com and http://www.longhaircareforum.com.

I know there are a lot of black women who live abroad who may have some suggestions. Also consider joining http://www.fotki.com or or http://paris.en.craigslist.org/ or asking at local beauty supply stores.

Hope this helps!
