Any High Quality Recording Equipment You Could Suggest

I need some good equipment for recording songs?

I'm so glad you asked this question! Now I can finally recommend some good equipment for cheap!

Okay if you want a cheaper microphone that works amazing, I'd try M-Audio Producer Microphone, it comes with Recording Software that works wonderful. It's only $99! You can fimd it here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...

Now you'll probably want some good headphones to use, I'd recommend buying Koss Headphones. They are wonderful- studio quality -like and they start at just $20.00. Thats what I use and they work wonders! Now if you want to go cheapest but still have a good pair of headphones try these: http://www.koss.com/koss/kossweb.nsf/p?o...

If you get that microphone, you can plug these headphones right into the microphone so you can hear the music while your recording like a real studio would do.

Okay, you don't have to go this far into it,but if you want a Mixer to mix and produce your songs, try this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...
its very cheap only $99

and a great mixing software with generated beats and music, you should def. go with Acoustica Mixcraft 4. Its very easy to use, and you can make songs in a snap! It's $64.95, but you can get a 30 day trial just to start out with. Its here: http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/
Or if you get that microphone it already comes with mixing software which works wonders too.

Hopefully I helped!
Good luck!

I would suggest you save your money and invest it in a good digital camera. Put yourself on youtube and get discovered that way. The best recording equipment in the world isn't going to give you exposure.

Can I record studio-quality music with my Android?

While you'll never be able to get Studio Quality music by recording on a phone, it's definitely possible to get fairly good sounding recordings by upgrading your device with several external components. There are an enourmous amount of microphones out there that come with 3.5mm jacks and can be plugged in to the headphone jack on your phone to upgrade the quality of recording.I would also suggest checking out apps like RecForge Pro, Planet-H G-Stomper Studio, and FL Studio Mobile to edit your recordings, add effects, and program full arrangements around them.

How do you figure out the audio quality of a camcorder/audio recorder?

If you mean specification, you could record a clip, drop it in a computer, then just look at the specs with some sort of spec reader like g-spot. You could also split the audio off and drop it into some audio software, or even video editing software. Sometimes the NLE will ask you when you drop a clip into a new timeline if you want to change to the clip settings. Then you could look at that. Looking at a clip in a bin can show you the specs with most video editing software too. If you mean quality as in quality of performance, you actually need some audio measurement equipment. Even without specialized equipment, you can use common lab tools for things like frequency response. A sweep generator and a regular scope could be used in a pinch. If nothing like that is available, you could at least compare audio recorders by recording clips and studying them in audio editing software. Here is an audio signal that includes clipping, zoomed in simply using Audacity. You can already see an interesting overflow quantization error with this camera audio system. You can learn a bit about the clipping behavior, and in turn, about the AD converter just by looking at the audio samples. With a sine wave input, more information. In this case, regarding the error. You can lower the recorded level in increments, and view after normalizing in the editor to get very rough ideas of noise and distortion. It's not great data, but you can at least compare two devices and have some idea if one is significantly higher performance.

How much does it cost to set up a decent home recording studio?

Of course, the cost depends on how advanced you want your equipment to be, but note this: even if you have really high quality and expensive gear and a multimillion-dollar facility, it pales in comparison to how important the actual skills are required to make a great recording or mix.Basically, your knowledge and skills are more important than the equipment you have, so you can even make a home recording studio for as low as $1,700.If you don’t have the skills, maybe it’s better you hire a professional recording studio that can arrange, record and produce all your music for you.I had an article published in Ditto Music about setting up a home recording studio on a budget, and you can read it HERE, but I want to highlight 5 most important things you will need.1. COMPUTERI recommend Mac Book Pro, iMac, or even Mac Mini (or any of the PC equivalents—although most of creatives in the music business use Mac).2. DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION or DAWYou can use Apple’s Logic, which is the choice for most songwriters, producers, and musicians who are just getting into the game of producing, recording, and mixing. There are other options too, like Avid’s Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper, Fruity Loops, etc.3. AUDIO INTERFACEUnless you’re planning to use only virtual instruments (VIs) and samples in your productions, you’ll need an audio interface. Audio interfaces can be as cheap as $100 or can climb into the thousands of dollars. I recommend on the lower end the Scarlett 2i2 (~$150) or on the mid-range end the Universal Audio Apollo Twin (~$700).4. SPEAKERS (MONITORS) & HEADPHONESYou can buy some decent monitors for as little as $400. Yamaha HS5s or KRK G2 5s are great for getting started. Yamaha HS8s are becoming an industry standard and you can get a used pair for as little as $600. As for mixing headphones I recommend the Beyerdynamic DT700s.5. MICROPHONESYou’ll need a microphone in order to record vocals or any other acoustic instrument. More than likely, you’ll just need one microphone. The Rode NT1A is a great choice. If you plan on recording a stereo source, such as a piano, drum overheads, stereo room, etc. either buy an additional mic to match what you already have, or you could buy a stereo pair.Below is the equipment for a sample budget recording studio:Mac Mini: $699Logic Pro: $199Scarlett 2i2: $149Tracking headphones: $29Rode NT1A: $229Yamaha HS5s: $400Total: $1,705

What is a very top notch quality recording software program for a computer?

I'm looking at protools 9, Cubase 6, Live 8.2, studio one pro, record 1.5, and FL studio producer.
What would you suggest being the best one, they're all within a 600$ price range which is THE highest I will spend. I'm a guitarist and I have good equipment that's all studio ready, my pc specs are substantial, let's leave it at that, so tell me, what is the best?
