If you mean specification, you could record a clip, drop it in a computer, then just look at the specs with some sort of spec reader like g-spot. You could also split the audio off and drop it into some audio software, or even video editing software. Looking at a clip in a bin can show you the specs with most video editing software too. If you mean quality as in quality of performance, you actually need some audio measurement equipment. A sweep generator and a regular scope could be used in a pinch.If nothing like that is available, you could at least compare audio recorders by recording clips and studying them in audio editing software. I'm looking at protools 9, Cubase 6, Live 8.2, studio one pro, record 1.5, and FL studio producer.
