Any Ideas For My Harry Potter Fashion Show

As a 16 year old who has never read Harry Potter, is it too late to start now?

There are many people telling you that it isn't too late to start reading Harry Potter at 16. While I don't mean to discourage you from reading it( as I believe it is a beautiful world with extremely interesting characters) I can tell you from my experience that my perception of the books changed as I grew up.I read my first Harry Potter book when I was ~12 (by that time quite a few books had been released in the series). At the age, I enjoyed the idea of magic and a magical school and friendship and loyalty and love. I enjoyed the adventures that Harry and his friends had, and how love triumphed in the end. However, as I grew up, as my choice of novels started becoming more and more... complex (I guess), I started becoming disillusioned and disappointed with how things were going in the series. J K Rowling intended it to be a children's book and she does it justice to the end. Very few characters have shades of grey to them. Even fewer characters have shades of grey in their interactions. The interpersonal relationships can be described in one-two word phrases. Some of the non-main cast is simply wasted. I did not notice these things before — I do now.I was initially enamoured by the idea of a magical world — till I started thinking about how this particular society sustained itself. Then, it fell flat. The politics isn't fleshed out very well, the muggle-wizard divide is... pretty much ignored except for the blood purity angle, the economy isn't elaborated on, international politics is non-existent. Internal politics isn't elaborated on except for a few generic details. These were the things I cared about when I was 16. I don't know if the same applies to you.To summarize, you should read it because it is an introduction to a very beautiful idea — and within its confines, it is very well described. But, it is not perfect — it is far from perfect — and it feels like a lot of wasted opportunities after a point (in my opinion), when you start thinking about it in different dimensions.

When Harry Potter and his friends escaped Gringotts with the Ukrainian Iron Belly how does the muggle world not notice?

The destruction of Gringotts is exaggerated in the movie. In the book, the dragon emerged from undeground, blasted away the goblins in its path with fire, forced open the front doors, and flew away into the sky. In the movie, this scene is extended to show the dragon intent on destroying the Front Hall of Gringotts, setting everything on fire, spectacularly emerging from the roof (and smashing the chandelier), and leaping over the chimneys of Leaky Cauldron before taking flight into the sky.Gringotts is in Diagon Alley, which is accessed through the behind wall of the Leaky Cauldron pub. The pub and the street are both hidden from Muggles by magic. Gringotts itself has a very high level of security as goblins are secretive and don’t want any humans, Muggle or wizard, prowling around unnecessarily. So, while the dragon was destroying the caverns which contained the vaults and the bank, the Muggles outside were not noticing anything. However, it is possible that the dragon would’ve been seen (with three teenagers riding on top of it) flying in the sky.

What is the difference between Harry Potter magic and magics from other fictional(it is fiction because I'm a muggle) worlds?

To be honest, as much as I enjoyed the Harry Potter series, the magic system in the Potterverse is actually pretty simplistic. I never got the impression that Rowling spent the same amount of effort on really developing the science and methodology behind it the way some of the more adult fantasy authors do. It's really only developed to the point that would be required to explain it to the average adolescent. Now, certainly as the story progressed, there was some additional development of the reasoning behind it, but it never appeared to be as coherent as some other universes.Potterworld: (generally) Wave your wand in this fashion + speak the words thusly = a particular result. While there is some discussion of mental preparedness, there are no considerations addressed with regard to: energy use (as has been discussed), intent, creativity, environmental side effects or physical side effects. Dark magic only really appears to be "dark" because the governing body said so, it has no lasting implications to the user. (with the exception of horcruxes)LOTR: Magic from Gandolf and Saurumon isn't really magic. It's really just their innate ability to handle the forces of nature as the result of their essentially being heavenly servants. The "magic" system in LOTR is actually even less developed than in Harry Potter as it really isn't all that relevant to the story.
