Any Information On Reconstructive Flat Foot Surgery

How long will it take to walk normal after femur surgery?

As early as same day or as late as neverIt depends on the extent of the injury and the type of Surgery. If it's a simple fracture, a nail can be inserted and then the patient can start walking after recovering from anaesthesia but compound fractures can be tricky and may need patience. I've seen a patient who had bilateral femoral fracture, had surgery and started walking about 3days after surgery. Of course if we consider “walking normally” that's something else. That greatly depends on other factors like courage, pain, other injuries etc

Any information on reconstructive flat foot surgery?

3-4 years now..Ive been suffering from flat feet..I've been to physical therapy multiple times at differnt times throughtout that timeframe. Im 14 male.Like 5 ft 7 in and like 140 lbs.not overweight. The pain is inbearable I can't do anything anymore.i cant stand tht hurts bad. can't walk..I sit on the couch all day long. Going to school is a struggle for me. I can barely do gym class. I cannot run under any circumstances. I have to sometimes though but it puts me in so much pain and i can't move. The physical therapy didnt work. At all. Ifeel stronger but still in pain. I've had orthotics since the beggining.Yeah ha! Those things cause MORE pain! They do not help at all. I've been in braces for my feet. Didnt help. Ive been in braces for my knees because my knees are messed up now and hurt 24/7. Braces didnt help. And the phyiscal therapy was for that and it didnt help. The pain is on the sides and in the front. I have the patellafemorla syndrome. Both knees and both feet by the way this is the situation. The pain is like a grinding crunching like getting locked pain almost. I can't do anythig because of it. And now my hips. They r starting to feel like how the knees feel like. Stuck. Grinding. I've seen 4 doctors...One pediatrist, a pediatric orthapedist, an orthapedist surgeon, and an orthapedist. The surgeon said i need major reconstructive surgery. My mom flipped and said no and still refuses. It's all that's left..The pediatrist and my pediatrician are both saying that if its painful and if it interferes with daily activities then you need it. And the pediatrist wasnt onboard with surgery to begin with. My mom is worried becuase I'm still growing and that's what the pediatrist said too. But the surgeon and someone said that it doesn't matter. Does it? I know it's a big surgery but it's subbosed to fix it 100%.Idont want this to get worse and then stuff can't be redone.Idont want my feet knees and hips to be shot before I'm even 20!Please help.

How much does flat feet surgery cost?

Hello,

Flat feet reconstructive surgery - Total around $100,000. You need to factor in renting the operating room, paying the anesthesiologist, nurse, doctor, and all the medical supplies.
Recover and PT will take a long time but I heard it's worth it. Your knees and legs will be painfree.

Do you know anyone who needs reconstructive surgery but can not afford it?

Yes, a young girl. She wanted her operation before going to her new school to avoid more bullying. The NHS refused to fund the operation and she was devastated. I offered to do the operation for free, but the family couldn't afford the hospital fees either. I don't know what's happened now. Feel so sorry for her.

Is it possible to take another face by plastic surgery?

Not really. If one doesn't watch "Face off" too often they might be willing to believe me. (I enjoyed the movie BTW)Some amazing things can be done in Plastic surgery but changing one face into another is a different ball game. Of course things can be done to dramatically change one's appearance but not as exactly as movies would have you believe. I can't make you look like me however hard I tried. Most of Plastic surgery is based on enhancing existing features and removing signs of ageing- loose and excess skin, fat, muscle, wrinkles, general drooping of facial and other tissues in the body, jowls, crows feet etc.Of course then there is reconstruction post cancer removal and post trauma where we have to get the person back as close to how he/she was before. All this and to hide those scars well is what we do. We are still a long way off from making John Travolta look like Nicholas Cage.

What does it mean if a person wants surgery for no reason other than to have surgery?

If a person likes to have surgery and fantasizes about going through something major like an organ transplant, and if the person likes to have their blood drawn, what does that mean?

Does having flat feet affect playing football (makes it easier/harder)?

As a high-impact sport that requires speed, agility, power and strength, football players are often engaged in quick movements and changes in direction, increasing the potential for injuries of the lower limbs.Individual factors such as age, strength, shoe type and prevalence of foot conditions play a crucial role in determining your vulnerability to injuries.Having flat feet can increase your chances of injuring yourself on the field only because of the abnormal movement patterns of the body associated with the condition. When the arch of your foot collapses, there are many changes that take place in the rest of your body. When combined with the mechanical stresses of the sport, these changes can increase the stress placed on your lower limbs.Learn more about flat feet and how MASS4D® customised orthotics could help you with your condition.
