What is a good 2-3 minute short film idea for my high school filmmaking class?
How about this cupcake:A movie about a writer who’s in a midlife crisis. He struggles with he’s next novel and needs help to draw inspiration (so he doesn’t come off as a hack like Lucas). He’s studying the human depression of books like “The Happiness Trap” and “Anxiety Rebalance”, for he’s next novel.You can make it interesting and engaging by the power of film making as many director have done before. Take a plot line that’s not interesting on paper but amazing on the big screen.JUST DO IT!
What genre should I go for for a 2 minute short film?

It contains extremely valuable info such as what ‘genius’ or ‘original’ ideas are actually incredibly cliche. It also mentions how making something that is true to who you are is the most important thing, that festival programmers can smell when something is insincere.(I.e asking internet people what film you should make perhaps isn't such a good idea :p )
What is a good idea for a short film for a 2-3 minute film project made by only one person? My last idea got rejected so now I’m struggling for an idea as I reach the deadline.
This is a hard question for someone else to answer for you. If you do not have the vision, no idea from us is going to help you much. Have you discussed this with the instructor?That would be my first inclination. Secondly what did you learn from the rejected idea? Why was it rejected and what could have made it workable?Lastly, why are you in a film making course if coming up with ideas is a struggle for you? Typically in a course like that one has too many ideas not ever a problem of coming up with an idea.Saying all of that I have an idea. A 2–3 minute film is like a portrait in a still photography situation. Find someone who is interesting and do a very short documentary of what that person is interested in. Especially if they themselves are interesting that will come across. Pick someone who is comfortable with themselves, particularly if they are much older that will help. Figure out a script of an interview or perhaps some questions that they can speak about and use things around them to tell the story visually with cutaways while they narrate.120–180 seconds is harder to do that 90 minutes, but think of it as one very detailed point, just a small thing. Don’t try to make a big story and for your sake don’t screw around.
3-5 minute short film ideas needed!!!?
I have a 3-5 minute short film due in a 5 days. I have serious writers block and can't seem to think of anything, and as the deadline gets closer I'm becoming more paniced. I need ideas that can only use one character and one location. Anything can help. Thank you in advance.

My fovorite is a "Cliffnotes Theater" done by morning comedians Bob & Tom. What was it? TITANIC! And yes, it can be done in less than 1 minute with very little as far as props. Here's the story: A ship Captain and a Deckhand are standing on the ship. "This is some boat Captain!" Says the Deckhand. "It sure is" said the Captain. Just then there is a loud crash. "Oh oh" says the Captain. And that's it. Everyone KNOWS what happened from that point on.

Any Ideas for a 3min Short film?
I need to film a 3 min video. It can be any type of story, but im not creative enough to come up with one. It can literally be any story. Love story, something funny....anything with dialogue. It's nothing big, probably just filming it with my phone and wont have too many actors. I need this for a class so any ideas would be great.
