Does running/jogging helps lose weight and man boobs?

duh its excercising isn't it?

Is it okay for a fat guy to run shirtless while trying to get into shape?

Okay so I'm an overweight guy who in the past year and a half or so has gotten into distance running and changed up his diet to try to lose weight. I have lost a little less than 50 pounds, but still have a ways to go before I look okay shirtless, but I feel I need to.

I live in a very humid area, and I'm having huge trouble with nipple chafing if I run long distances. On very humid days (i.e. almost every day of the summer here) I can't run more than three miles without at least one of my nipples getting very irritated by rubbing against my sweaty shirt (I wear sweat-wicking synthetic fabrics for long runs, but it only helps so much). If I use a lubricant like body-glide, that goes up to about 5 miles. I have also tried band-aids on my nipples, but they come off after only a few miles in the high humidity. I ran 12 miles last week, planning to go 14, but I had to take off my shirt and walk home shirtless the final two miles since my nipples were bleeding. The band-aids I had put on my nipples fell off after only a few miles. Yesterday, I put body-glide on my nipples but had to take off my shirt after 7.5 miles of running with bleeding nipples and a blood stained shirt. I walked the rest of the way home shirtless, mostly through the woods, afraid that I might offend someone.

Given this situation, if I'm doing long runs, do you think it would just be acceptable to go shirtless? If not, is there anything else I can try?
