Any Tips To Make Getting A Nose Piercing Less Painful Or Less Scary Such As Listening To Music

Tragus piercing tips?

It doesn't hurt too badly. On a scale of pain, 10 being the most painful, i'd say a 5 ish. And I can't take pain too well. You'll just feel a pinch and it'll be over. You can put studds, or hoops. I have the hoops but at first they gave me a diamond jewelry studd. They told me I can change it after 3 months. I actually changed it earlier than that, and it started to bleed just a little bit. If you plan on changing your piercing, make sure you are completely healed before changing it. If you listen to music with headphones, you might have issues at first because the headphones can irritate the piercing because it is in the way. Once it heals, it won't be a problem and you won't even notice it there. I took care of it by spraying H2ocean on it twice a day, and left it alone (no touching, no nothing.)

It's a great piercing, and I do not regret it. However, if you do so ever decide to get the "captive bead ring" style, it is VERY tricky to do on your own, I recommend you see the tattoo artist to do it because I dropped it so many times and lost it, and it's not cheap. It helps if you wear rubber gloves (so I've read.)

Good Luck.

Can I take a vicodin before getting my nose pierced?

wow.

if youre not old enough to handle a pinch on the nose, youre definately not old enough to be taking hardcore painkillers my dear.

i understand the anxiety but i promise you its not THAT bad, and no, you should NOT take perscription painkillers before getting a piercing.

[edit] although some of the other answers here are partially correct i thought id fill you in. vicodin does NOT thin the blood (see source link) or interfere with blood clotting ability. certain other pain meds will thin the blood, causing complications during piercings and tattoos, thats why a few other people mentioned it.

i still dont think you should take it though. it really isnt that bad and if you walk in there visibly high, and they are a reputable business, they will not pierce you.

To put you at ease, it's temporary hearing loss. When you listen to a high decibel level for a long period, your ears have a mechanism to protect the vibrating hairs from overexposure. The clogged sensation should clear up between an hour to a day. Listening to music past half volume, even if it causes no pain, can eventually cause permanent hearing loss caused by dead cells, a.k.a. noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). Take care of your ears by not listening to music prolonged at high volume. I understand when your favorite song comes on and you just gotta blast it. But having bad to no hearing as an adult will be a real bummer, especially if you love music.

What can I do to prevent feeling pain while getting a tattoo?

You're deffinitely over-thinking it and making it far more worse then it really is. I'm 15 and got my first tattoo last year on my wrist, it's a pink ribbon about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. Of course I was nervous at first, I didn't know what to expect it was my first tattoo. Everyone has their own opinion on explaining how they feel. It really wasn't that bad, sure it was uncomfortable but it's tolerable. I'm a wuss when it comes to pain, so if I can deal with it I'm pretty sure you can. You actually get used to it after a few minutes, the only thing that hurt on mine was when he did shading in a few spots since they have to keep going over the same spots. But it wasn't an excruciating pain, it was just uncomfortable. The best way to relax is making conversation with the tattoo artist, so that way you're not focusing so much on the tattoo, but more on the conversation your having. They normally talk to you anyway during the session so it's not all awkward and you don't get so nervous.

How to overcome fear of pain to get nose pierced?

well maybe you could try taking advil first. im really not sure how much it helps, but it might make you feel better.

are you scared of needles in general? if so, i suggest donating blood. that way, you can get used to having a needle inserted in you, and you can remember what it feels like. also, maybe try watching people getting their nose pierced on youtube [kind of gross, but oh well] most of them say it hurts but only for a second, which is true for most piercings. so also, maybe think to yourself, "well if i just suck it up for one second, i can live the rest of my life with my nose happily pierced"

How do I heal my nose piercing?

It's really frustrating coming on here and seeing the people that give you really poor advice. Nose piercings generally take about 4-6 months to heal.

First of all, everyone's body is different and just because it's been five months doesn't mean anything. It just means that maybe you need to be doing some different things to help the process.

Second of all, if it sounds like it's infected then DO NOT take out the jewelery and let it close up because it can trap infection under the skin and makes it worse. If you think it's infected, go to the doctor and get antibiotics. As simple as that. A round of antibiotics should do you fine if you think it's infected, which it sounds like it is not.

Bactine, I've been told is fine.. I've never used it.. but DO NOT use alcohol, it's too harsh for piercings and dries everything up.

My first piece of advice is don't take it out, don't play with it, don't even touch it unless you're cleaning it. Even though it's not a fresh piercing, it sounds like it's not fully healed and moving the jewelery aggrivates the surrounding skin. When you clean, you normally leave the jewelery in.

If there's a bump on the inside, "bumps" on new piercings are generally keloids and they form because the piercing isn't healing properly. I'm not positive why, but I've had enough piercings and a few of my own "bumps" so this has been explained to me. Are you doing salt water soaks? It's a huge part of the healing process. Cartilage does not get much blood flow and so it needs to be stimulated. Which is the reason for warm salt water soaks.

Warm saltwater soaks will help your body to heal your new piercing. Saltwater soaks draw out discharge (dead cells) and accelerate the healing process. To soak, add 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt (NOT table salt) to an 8 oz cup of warm water. Stir and soak a cotton ball in solution and place on your piercing. Hold it there for 15 minutes. Use a new cotton ball for each soak. Do warm saltwater soaks 2 times a day during the entire healing period. Rinse with water after you have finished the soaks.

Also, let the water hit your nose in the shower for like five minutes, giving it more opportunity to stimulate.

Hope I could help :)

Nose Piercing Advice????????? 10points for best answer?

"IamHonestt :)" gave good advice, I'd just say the same thing as her, but DO NOT LISTEN TO THE PERSON TELLING YOU TO HAVE IT DONE BY A GUN!
it's the worst thing you could do to your poor nose!
The jewelry they use with a gun if incredibly hard to change, and is usually pierced so small (like a lobe piercing) that you can't get any nice jewellery to change it to.

Also they are incredibly unhygienic! Imagine having to clean a big gun with lots of places you cant reach, when if you have it done with a needle it's sterilised very easily and not as intrusive or scary.

Please please don't get it done with a gun! The needle will hurt only for a split second, then it's just sore to touch.

If you get it done remember to clean it, you should get a piercing care sheet/booklet from your piercer. Make sure you go to a proper piercing place that looks clean and go with your parents.

Does your second ear piercing hurt?

I got my second ear piercing like 3weeks ago. I was so scared because I had seen all these reviews saying 'it really hurts' and 'it's worse than the first'. I didn't even feel it!!! I have to admit that my left one I didn't feel at all but my right I did a little but it was pain or uncomfortable in any way, I just felt the earring go through. I have a low pain tolerance (feel pain easily) but I got it done at blue banana with the gun and I've had no pain, infections or anything :)

Getting your belly button pierced hurts less than getting your ear pierced. Use your nails to pinch your earlobe and where you'd get your belly button pierced to see for yourself which hurts more. However, the equipment for a naval piercing can be a bit intimidating. There are a big clamp, a big hollow needle, and then the jewelery itself. It's an eyeful of metal. What would hurt is your piercing getting infected. This happens much more with naval piercings than ear piercings. Soaking your piercing in salt water helps prevent infection, but it's pretty awkward with a belly button piercing (not as bad as a nose piercing, though). Make sure clothing doesn't rub against, constrict, or irritate your piercing (low rise pants are a must). Keep your piercing clean. Your piercer will give you more specific instructions.
