Any Way To Build Self Confidence

I have no self confidence.?

I honestly don't know what to do, I seriously have just no motivation to do anything, Everything I try I just fail, I honestly need some help. Like, is there any ways to boost my self esteem?

How do you boost your self confidence? ?

To me I'm very stupid and very ugly. My family and friends disagree and keep saying I need to boost my self confidence but I keep trying and it's hard so what's a way to do that

On self confidence & building self esteem...am I an Oxymoron?

Anybody some advice on how to build self esteem & self confidence. I wouldn't say that I am a depressed person, neither do I suffer from social anxiety...(I have no problem talking to strangers) I would say that I am very self consumed & that I don't believe in myself or in what I say...for instance I always feel a need for a cosigner on my decisions (I like when people agree with me) What I mean is I don't want someone else to make my decision but I need someone to confirm that my decision is the right choice or else I will feel uncomfortable...so I say I think I lack self confidence. I love approval more so then average people I think. Why is it that when music comes on & everybody starts dancing I feel shy & uncomfortable dancing as well (now was I by myself I would go all crazy lol) Strange thing when I go out to a club (which I do) I love to dance & look good (I feel like a Diva lol) am I an oxymoron? I need a book about this any suggestions? I don't want to grow old & turn into the cat lady...

Building self-confidence with Ativan(Lorazepam)?

In my own struggle with social anxiety, benzodiazapines have been somewhat effective for the first week but a tolerance is built very quickly! As you mention, you have to take more than the usual dose such that you don't feel nervous. This is not a step in the right direction. The more you take and the longer you take it, the stronger the tolerance builds and it will take a doctor's supervision to taper off. I can't believe your doctor prescribed Ativan for SA. It seems very odd to me personally although I'm no doctor, and especially Ativan. It seems like Xanax, Klonopin, or Valium would be better choices if a benzo was selected. Benzodiazapines are usually better for panic disorder.

For me, SSRI and SNRI antidepressants which are indicated for the treatment of social anxiety have been life changing. I have been on Paxil CR before and now I am on Effexor XR and both have been very effective. Effexor XR seems to give me the same perk and outgoingness that coffee does without provoking anxiety (which caffeine does to me).

Are there any great books to boost self-confidence?

I don't care to admit it, but I have, or rather had, a similar problem. I can tell you straight up that books won't do a thing to boost your confidence. Theres a reason people look up to charismatic individuals, and it's because obtaining the trait is not easily gained.

You want confidence, it's trial by fire. Do things confident people do, or that you are afraid to do. Being social helps, so try doing things with other people, like parties, going bowling, study groups, that kind of thing. Joining a club or sport in school will do wonders too.

A big thing you can do is ignore your limitations. Act confident, even if you aren't, and eventually you will be. Ignore your doubts, focus on the situation, and just relax.

But I suppose that didn't answer your question. I gathered a little study material when I was trying to be more extroverted, so here's some good sources that give tips (and tips alone).
