Anybody Think It

Did anybody think it was weird that the girls on Full House were blonde?

We all know Danny has brown hair, but when they watched a video of the mom she was also blonde, which is pretty weird considering her Greek heritage (look at Uncle Jesse). Maybe their mom was adpoted...

Does Anybody Think Its Weird That Back In The 1920s Cars Got Better Mileage Than They Do Now?

Actually if you compare cars of the same weight, the 1920s cars got worse gas mileage.

For example one of my colleagues has a fully restored Model A Ford. It gets approximately 19 miles per gallon of gas around town. He avoids driving it on the freeway because it does not have the power to keep up with the traffic and freeway driving is very hard on it, so he does not have any data on the gas mileage on the freeway for this car.

If you compare a modern car of the same weight, the modern car gets much better than 19 miles per gallon of gas in city driving.

Another one of my colleagues has a fully restored 1926 Cadillac. That car only gets 12 miles per gallon of gas.

Modern cars of comparable weight get much better gas mileage.

Does anybody think that Star Wars is for nerds?

I am a big Star Wars fan and so are my friends. When I ask people if they like star wars sometimes they say yes and sometimes they say no and that I am a nerd or geek.

Does anybody think the word Hamster is funny?

it's an usual name and Im sorry for your canaries hope you get another pet!

Does anybody think everyone is going to heaven?

It’s absolutely correct that “everyone is going to heaven” or rather everyone is destined for a higher state of consciousness that is actually vastly beyond and better than the loftiest human verbalizations about “heaven.”A large number of people who have had near death experiences state that they became directly conscious of the “yes” answer to your question. See Death and Parapsychology--Research and Resources. Many people, including some prominent scientists, have also become directly conscious of this “yes” in various other ways as reported here The Evolution of Consciousness: Definitions and Examples. And mystics and poets have added their voices, for instance:“Melody celestial--sight and voice, color and tone, waring no more, In the boundless blue uplifted. This minute grown infinite, the far worlds spread before me, The endless drift of soul, the long stretch of faces, all lit by the divine sun--Swift or slow or early or late, the line not anywhere broken. All, all equally sustained, swept in the same destiny, On sea and land of life, The peak lit for all, the triumph inevitable.”Horace Traubel in the book Cosmic Consciousness by Richard Maurice BuckeThat heaven is the ultimate destiny of all, without exception, is part of the basic teachings of the Ageless Wisdom schools, of which three major ones: What three traditions were the primary sources of New Age philosophy?

Does anybody think that it is time to change, update, or repeal the 2nd Amendment because it creates a huge division here in the USA, creates confusion, and increases massacres?

i do not have a problem with the 2nd amendment. However, I do have a big problem with the influence of the NRA, the laziness of state legislatures to create the kind of gun control their state residents want and the laziness of congress to not deal more effectively with regulation of interstate trade of guns and ammunition. I’d also like to see some creativity on the part of gun rights advocates. The 2nd amendment restricts congress from restricting the right to keep and bear arms. It does not restrict state governments in the same way. Congress does retain authority to regulate the interstate and international trade in and movement of guns and ammunition. If I am reading the constitution correctly, congress tomorrow could for example require a federally issued license to transport guns or ammunition accross state lines. Concealed carry permits laws vary lot from state to state and the result it a lot of confusion. Congress could sort that out. States can easily restrict ability to purchase/hold firearms and ammunition based on factors like age, demonstration of mental illness or substance abuse. Congress can set federal safety requirements for weapons tranported accross state lines and create infrastructure that makes it easier for states to create and enforce their own laws.Wilmette, IL banned handguns in that city. The ordinance held up until the GW Bush court repealed it in 2008. Wilmette repeals gun ban As part of that measure they also armed their police with Uzis to match what gang members had. I suspect that case was decided by the 14th amendment applying the 2nd amendment to state governments. 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: Civil Rights (1868) i have reservations about extending that to city and county governments.A lot of the confusion here relates to corporate media. Confusion can help sell advertising. Congress can regulate broadcast media but sadly tends to sell out to corporate interests.Governing a Democratic Republic require real citizen involvement and law makers that are doing more than dialing for dollars. The US rates poorly on both counts and a lot of issues fall through the cracks as a result.

Would anybody in this modern society think it strange for a man to take his wife's name?

No, they might be curious why, as sometimes there's an interesting story there, but I doubt anyone would think it's very unusual.  I've known many couples to change both their last names to (her surname + his surname).  I also knew a guy who wasn't close to his family, was close to his wife's family, and he took her last name as they wanted themselves and their children to all have the same last name.  I've also known women to keep their maiden name as their middle name, getting rid of the middle name they were given at birth.  I've known many married women, who never changed their last name.  Now days, I think a lot of people, of either gender, see the chance of going through the effort of changing a last name upon marriage, as an opportunity to correct any name they don't like.  A lot of effort goes into changing one's name as an adult; all bills, records, etc have to be updated with the new name.  When one gets their birth name from their family, they have no say in something that is very much their own and part of their identity.

Anybody else think Fenway is a little overrated?

This may sound wierd, but I think it's construction flaws, like the poles, small cramped seats, outdated plumbing to put in nicely, make it so beloved and give it character. I love the ancient scoreboard! Seriously tho, I think the stadium is beautiful, and am in awe every time I go to a game.

Anybody else think it is a little weird to eat the body of Christ and drink his blood?
