Anyone Ever Do Electrolysis For Hair Removal

Has anyone ever had electrolysis done?

Yes. By a chiropractor to loosen up knarled back muscles.

Has anybody ever had Electrolysis hair removal done on their face?

1) The first session you went to, how much hair did you manage to get rid of?

2) If you went back for more sessions was it because the hair that you got rid of started to grow back, or is it because you did not get rid of all the hair in the first place?

I am 15 and i have a hormonal imbalance which causes me to have a lot of pimples and excess facial/body hair. The hair on my face is getting worse everyday and it is very noticeable. It really bring my confidence down, so i am thinking about getting electrolysis done, I do wax, but it doesn't seem to work that great for me....I think electrolysis would be the best option because it's suppose to be permanent, but i don't want to keep going back and have like 10 sessions! I rather go 1 or 2 times and thats it. I am on Yasmin birth control and it is suppose to block androgens, although I have been on it for 2 weeks now and i have not noticed an improvement. - Maybe if i wait a while and the "androgen blocker" kicks in and then i get electrolysis done the hair would never grow back once its gone...?

Thanks if you can help me!

Can anyone tell me is laser or electrolysis hair removal for underarms advisable? I am considering that.?

Laser hair removal is awesome love =)

Okay... science answer:

You grow in at least 80% of your hair during puberty. When you have laser hair removal the hairs it kills will never grow again. But you still have up to 20% of your normal thickness that will grow in throughout the rest of your life. So people get touch up sessions every 3-5 years after their big 6 treatments. You need about 6 treatments, one each 2 months for a year, because the hair grows in different stages and it can only kill hair in the active growth stage. The laser works by targeting dark color (the hair follicle) and passing through light color (the skin) the hair and skin have to be very different shades of color for the hair to work. It burns the dark color disabling the hair follicle so hair cannot grow from it again. The darker and coarser the hair and lighter the skin, the better results you will have.

Okay... Personal Experience:

I've had 4 out of my 6 treatments so far. It HURTS! It's like being poked with a sewing needle over and over, but it's not as painful as a tattoo, and that's not as painful as childbirth, maybe that can put the pain in perspective for you =) I've had my legs, underarms, and bikini area done. When you get your bikini area done they do ALL of it! Including spreading your butt and vaginal lips apart to laser all the cracks... It's sorta awkward. After the 4 treatments I've had so far I've lost about 80% of leg hair, 80% bikini hair, and 80% underarms hair. But the legs are the most painful. The more it hurts the better it works. I have only a few hairs left around my ankles but every time the ankles hurt the worst for me.
I spent this much for 6 treatments in each area:
Bikini-$750
Underarms-$750
Legs (toes to bikini)-$2,500

Email me if you have any more questions about it!

Has anyone ever tried electrolysis AND laser hair removal?

Yes, I've tried both. I tried the laser first but it didn't work for me. I am now having electrolysis done and it's working but I've been going once a week for four months. I've done some research on permanent hair removal and found out that electrolysis is the only one that is permanent, with the others your hair can grown back. I think with laser if the hair growth is from of a hormone imbalance or if your hair is very light in color it doesn't work as well. I guess that's why it didn't work for me. I have fair skin and very light hair (almost white). I hope this has helped you.

Does electrolysis hair removal hurt?

It does hurt just a little. I have had my chin, cheeks, chest, and stomach. The chin did not hurt as bad. The worst for me was my stomach. The results on my facial hairs have been permanent, none of these hairs have grown back. I am still in the process of getting my stomach done. But depending on who you go to it might not be permanent because everyone doesn't do it right. If it feels as if they are plucking or pulling the hair out then they are doing it wrong. And yes it can also be expensive depending on how much hair you have and you got rid of the hair before you started the electrolysis treatment, because if you pluck then it makes longer to remove the hair. Most electrolysis will let you come in so you can try it for free on one or two hairs.

Has anyone ever used electrolysis ?

I was told by a beautician that its the best way to get rid of unwanted hair at the time. (a few years ago). It takes up to a year or more and the hair gets thinner and thinner over time. I tried it just to see what the pain felt like, one needle later and I have never been back! lol
To be honest it feel like a mosquitoe bite to me! (with out the itch)
Nowadays their is laser hair removal I hear its painless.

Yes, but it’s not the only FDA cleared technology to remove hair for a long period of time.Actually, it’s painful, expensive, and time-consumingThere are better at-home permanent hair removal technologies such as laser hair removal and IPL hair removal. They work way better than electrolysis. They are safe, effective, cheap, easy to use, and FDA-cleared.Moreover, there are epilators. They efficiently remove hair for a semi-permanent period up to 4 weeks.

I have tried laser hair removal (6 months) and electrolysis (blend method 2 years, once a week), and nothing worked. What will work for me?Red Hair does not work with Laser Hair Removal.I would have suggested waxing from the beginning because of your situation. Another alternative is an Epilator. After two (2) years, I am sure that you would be seeing significant results with either of the them.As for electrolysis, I am not sure why this has now worked. Perhaps other underlying factors are involved.

Anyone had electrolysis done?

No, but I heard it's safe and effective.

I have had both treatments done.....both on my face (eyebrows), lips (upper and lower), and laser only on my legs, underarms, and bikini area.  I can tell you, unequivocally, that electrolysis is more painful than laser.  For electrolysis, the esthetician gave me a topical pain killer, which did not help at all.  It's like getting a tattoo, except they have to go into every single hair follicle to get the result you want.  The needle goes in, zaps the hair, the root dies, it falls out.  Supposedly it never grows back.  But hair grows in cycles, so a few weeks later, you go in for your next session for presumably fewer hairs to be removed, and so on, with each session.  Ugh.For laser hair removal, the esthetician shaves you where you want the hair removed;  this included my upper and lower lip, which was scary at the time.  For your face she'll set the laser to a lower level than for the rest of your body;  then she moves the laser over the area where the hair grows.  It is like a hot light pulse;  it is uncomfortable, but it is not unbearable.  When the next cycle of hair comes in, it is sparse and the session goes much more quickly.  I've only done this a few times with wonderful results (no pain, no burns, no down time with a "red mustache", no more hair).
