Cat won't eat small pieces of dry cat food kibble?

My cat is a year and half. He eats Nutro dry cat food kibble they are pretty good sized like a pinto bean? But when my cat crunches down on the kibble little pieces fall back into the bowl and they range from half of the original size to tiny pieces. My question to this is why won't he eat all of the kibble in the bowl he literally will only eat the original pinto bean size ones that comes right out of the bag. My old cat was never this picky. And it has even gotten to the point to where...if he can't see the original big pieces within the smaller pieces he won't eat it! Especially if little ones are on top of the big ones...this is so frustrating I mean it's all the same food!!! It is not due to him not seeing it because BELIEVE me he can see the tiniest bug flying around AND it isn't due to his head not fitting in the bowl its a good sized wide opening bowl. Top it off, this causes me to throw out perfectly good kibble to put the original pinto bean size only in his food bowl or he complains i.e. MEOWS ALOT!

P.S. Please don't give me answers like let him starve I won't do that. I want to know why he might be acting this way. It isn't from spoiling him and he has good dental health. He just developed this on his own. :-/

What's the meanest thing someone has ever said to you?

Between the ages of 11 and 15, I got a lot of shit about my looks. A few of the highlights:In 6th grade, the boys voted me Ugliest Girl in the class. When I talked to a few girlfriends about it, the consensus was "well, you can kind of see why." I actually remember not being super-offended by this, as I could see their point. But it did make me sad.In 7th grade, a few of the popular girls shooed me out of the bathroom while I was attempting to check my hair, because I'd "break the mirror."The same year, I tried out for cheerleading and almost made the squad. According to the rumor mill, one of the judges (a male gym teacher) said that while I was technically competent (a good dancer with higher jumps than anyone else), I wasn't attractive enough. And to end the year on a fabulous note, one of the moms at our end-of-year party commented (during a group shot), "Who is that girl in the blue skirt? Does she belong in this picture?" I think she might have mistaken me for a circus freak. Just kidding, sort of.Anyway, I ended up growing out of my funny looks somewhat and then actually had the pleasant experience of overhearing things like "Can you believe what Caroline looks like? I didn't recognize her." starting my junior year of high school. LOL, to this day, many people I went to school with have no idea who I was.

What's the best dog food brand?

If you want to feed human foods, that's far better but it has to be balanced. Join this group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/k9nutritio...
For home made diet info

or this group for raw diets
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rawfeeding

Feeding a dog "people food" means a balance of mostly meat, a calcium source (raw bones), and a small amount of organs like liver and kidneys. Prey model raw diet is the easiest to balance: 80% meat, 10% bones, 5% liver and 5% other organs. Some home cookers add in green leafy vegetables.

Pedigree: It's CRAP quality, crap ingredients and will lead to health issues in your dog. Purina is better but not by much but at least Purina has corn free formulas and some have no BHT or BHA.

Add: (about a comment below) A veterinarian medical student answering that dogs are omnivores.. I shudder.

Add2: Katherine you give consistently bad, inaccurate advice based on myths, not on real education. Who funds your one nutrition class...Hills? Iams? Purina? Yep.
I hope one day before you become a vet that you open your eyes.
Tens of thousands of dogs are thriving for their lifetime on a balanced raw food diet. The bone % they are fed (in a prey model raw diet) gives the near exact amount of calcium that is required. I have plugged the numbers and done the math. Have you?
High processed diets like kibble are not healthy for any species, and it's time that more vets realize that owners are fully capable of feeding balanced raw diets. I do not need vet approved or tested synthetic vitamins from China.
Dogs die from contaminated kibble, not the normal bacteria their highly acidic stomachs are designed to handle in raw meat.

If everyone with a home took in a homeless person, will there be no more homeless people living on the streets?

The homeless are not puppies, kittens, or baby chicks who will do well with a corner of a room, a blanket, and a pat on the head and a bowl of kibble. So, no, this is NOT a sane or reasonable solution.First, everyone with a home is NOT responsible for the homeless. No one but the homeless person is responsible for the homeless. Harsh, but reality. If you want to get the homeless off the street, why not force local governments to create affordable housing, rent control, or loosen restrictions on tiny homes? You haven’t thought through this “solution.” Once the homeless person is housed, who feeds them? Who transports them? WHY, pray tell should someone take on the care and feeding of a stranger for no reason other than they have a house? Why not allow homeowners to build and rent accessory dwelling unit (or ADU) for extra income? The primary cause of homelessness (the 80% of homeless we don’t see) is non-affordable housing. When you work a minimum wage job and your monthly income is $300 shy of what rent is, it’s hard NOT to be homeless unless you want to work two jobs.Better to turn to our schools and teach children how to make, manage, and invest their money, pay bills, and earn a living wage. Our schools are currently more focused on teaching children about sex and how to wear a condom than they are life skills.

Has anyone gotten sugar gliders from Pocket Pets?

I want to hear from people who have actually purchased a sugar glider from pocket pets. I've heard a lot of information on sugar gliders, and I want to know which info I should actually believe. The association of sugar glider veterinarians agrees with the method of feeding a complete kibble diet, and other things I have heard from pocket pets. I want to get answers on these things. I've heard some people say that pocket pets is a reputable breeder, and others say that they sell sick and too young babies. I want to get the real information. Thank you.
P.S. If you have gotten a sugar glider from pocket pets I have some questions:
How much do sugar gliders cost from pocket pets, and how much is the discount on additional animals?
Does the starter kit (containing food dish, water bottle, heat rock, etc.) come with the sugar glider or do you have to buy it?
What do you think of the pocket pets company itself?

Which is the best dry dog food brand in India?

A great question! Appreciate your research and thought process. As you have rightly pointed out , Drools Focus does sound great on paper especially with that price tag but then what assurance do we have on the quality? - Well, not much. Here’s what we know. Drools focus is manufactured and marketed by :ABIS EXPORTS PVT. LTD. → this site doesn’t list drools.Another site : Indian Broiler Group — this site does list droolsA little googling tells us that the company manufactures - “Animal feed, fish feed, shrimp feed, poultry feed, hatching eggs, soybean products,”IB Group has their own poultry division and their website boasts - “Produced under the brand name of ABIS, today we cater to approximately 60% of the population in Central India vis-à-vis our table top eggs and chicken.”This leads us to believe that they source their own chicken although drools website never states that. A nagging thought pops up here - Is all the poultry division waste being dumped into the Focus food?Company state stringent quality measures but we dont know what they are. I am not certain that we have any government body regulating the quality of dog food.Drools brand itself promises “These products are nutritionally balanced and undergo rigorous quality checks to ensure that the best quality of food reaches your pet’s bowl.” - A glance at the portfolio and we know that only Focus is worth mentioning.Having said all of that , Focus is best we have from India in the dry food category. We have Kennel Kitchen in the wet foods section. Now the litmus test - would I feed my pet Drools focus? - No. Why? Simply because I can not be sure about the quality. So what would I rather do - I would go for Acana which in fact costs the same as Royal Canin, of not lessor. To make a bag last longer , I would supplement 50% with home cooked food . This method has the added advantage of incorporating fresh food into your pet’s diet which many pet nutritionists suggestGood luck.
