Anyone Have A Recipe For Crock Pot Chicken And Mushrooms That Does Not Use Soup

Miixing cream of chicken and mushroom soup?

Yeah, I mix them all the time, but usually in recipes, not as a stand alone soup. I usually mix when I need two cans and don't have two cans of the same soup. It is a good mix, the chicken flavor is not so strong and the mushroom taste is 'kinda' hidden (my family usually doesn't like mushroom.)

HELP !!!!! Does anyone have a chicken soup recipe for in the crock pot ???

This was actually my answer to the same type of question by another user. When the question was put to a vote mine was voted best :-)

chicken [noodle] soup can be made pretty much however you want...recipe or not. Everyone makes it differently & puts different items in theirs. I basically just put together some water, chicken broth (or cubed/powdered bullion), noodles, chopped chicken & whatever vegetables desired, if any. I usually just put carrots & celery in mine. Then add whatever seasonings you want for flavor (I use Mrs. Dash, Celery Salt & some Garlic powder/salt) & let it all simmer in the crockpot for a while until the noodles & chicken are thoroughly cooked...especially the chicken. Sometimes it helps to pop the chicken in the microwave for a bit beforehand to precook it since chicken takes longer to cook than noodles. If you want to add some dumplings in it, just take those pre-made biscuits from the can like you would find at the grocery store & cut into cubes. Making it homemade is always better for you because there isn't nearly as much sodium (salt) & preservatives as you would find in canned soup.....and you can make it to your tastes! Barley or rice is always a good add on too but if you're letting it cook in a crockpot for a while then use regular. Instant will just end up mushy & completely disgusting.

Enjoy :-)

Beef tips recipe without cream of mushroom/chicken soup?

No, not beef stew. Beef tips is like stew meat in gravy with egg noodles and you serve it over mashed potatoes. I got mine to work out, what I did was add beef broth and cook the meat in it. I made a cornstarch roux and added it about two hours before i wanted to serve it. And about an hour before it was done I added the egg noodles. Turned out great :)

How do you cook raw chicken in a Crock Pot?

The main thing you need to pay attention to is the internal temperature of the chicken. Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165F. However you decide to do it, make sure you have a meat thermometer and measure the temperature in the center of your largest piece of chicken before tasting or serving. A few tips:It's going to take a while to get a whole chicken up to temp. Try cutting the chicken into small pieces to help with heat transfer. This will reduce your cook time. You still need to test temp on the largest piece before tasting.Since it will take time, you may want to keep some of your ingredients out of the pot to add later. This will keep potatoes, for instance from becoming a mushy mess. Cook it in some sort of liquid. Broth or water (with some herbs) will work equally well. This will help distribute the heat uniformly.Really, there should be no huge difference in using raw chicken (as opposed to pre-cooked) other than the safety concerns. Honestly, though, you will have much better flavor if you roast the chicken in the oven, and then add it to the crock pot. A larger portion of the fat will be rendered off (if the skin is to be left on), and you will develop all sorts of tasty flavors that come along with the browning process. You will notice a huge difference in depth of flavor if you roast the chicken first.

Does anyone have any good recpies on how to fix chicken in a slow cooker?

This recipe is GREAT,
it is really versatile, I like to shred the chicken and put it on tortillas, but you could also put it over rice, or shred it and add beans to it and make it a chili.

Can I substitute mushroom soup with chicken soup?

Yes.... you can use any canned cream soup in place of cream of mushroom soup. For example: Cream of Chicken, Cream of celery, etc. I've substituted cream of chicken soup for many chicken casseroles when I was serving "mushroom haters"! LOL!

Sorry, my best chicken recipe has mushrooms in it, mmm.... chicken breasts, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, onions & cream of mushroom soup.... mmmm.
