Anyone Know Anything About These Pioneer Speakers

Anyone know anything about these Pioneer speakers?

The CS-G403 was the largest of a series of US market Pioneer speakers. There was an economy 8" two-way that sold for around $30/pr, then the 10", 12" and your 15" three way along with a dual 8" three way tower.

Pioneer made these in the US for the US market due to size. On the overall scheme of things, they were still an economy product line that went after the buyer who would have purchased a "rack system" during that period, so their competitors were US made Sony, Kenwood, Sansui and Studio Standard by Fisher (Sanyo). The KLH products of the era were also very competitive here. They were all tuned for a strong booming bass, no damping material in the cabinet, and minimal crossover. Basically a big speaker at an affordable price.

How much they pull depends on the local market. I just sold a pair of the model down (12" three-way) for $60 in excellent condition. I've sold 2 pair of an older version of the 12" (walnut grain, white cone woofer with fresh foam surrounds - which they used to have) for the same money. I'd expect in the $80 to $100 area as a ballpark. Just be sure to check and listen carefully to the tweeter. They are extremely failure prone! Since the midrange driver also has treble output, you need to put your ear to the tweeter. All of those I sold required new tweeters, one pair even needed new crossover caps. If you need a tweeter, they do pop up on eBay with the gold ring.

How much is a CS-711a Pioneer speaker worth?

They're worth what someone is willing to pay for them. $10 or $20 at a garage sale is about right. They have no appreciable value as "vintage" speakers. They were not considered particularly good speakers back in 1976, and Japanese speakers have never enjoyed much of a reputation. A dead giveaway is the cone tweeter design: A cheap way to reproduce highs poorly. Speakers were built in Japan mainly so that electronics firms, such as Pioneer, Sony, etc. could offer complete audio systems, rather than relying on independent speaker manufacturers to complete them.

Polk db6501 vs PIONEER TS-D1720C Speakers?

I am buying one of these sets of speakers. I can't find any reviews on the Pioneers and I need someone to help me out. The only comparison I need is on sound quality, not price or installation. Which ones should I buy? I have a pioneer deck.

How do you set up and use Pioneer CS-G303 speakers?

These are fairly run of the mill speakers and were at best, only decent when they were new. Connect them like any other stereo speakers to an amplifier between 20–100 watts per channel and adjust the tone controls to your taste.

I have a pair of Pioneer CS-K535 (3 Way) Tower Speakers and a pair of Marantz SP-2050 (3 Way) Tower Speakers. Which is better?

The pioneer will probably play louder The Marantz might be good for a smaller room...like Spacemissing said it really depends on personal preference both are going to have a tainted vintage sound but the Pioneers will have a vintage pioneer sound while the Marantz will have a...Marantz speaker sound to them...neither is perfect...The pioneer is probably more flexible in that you would be able to tweak the bass and treble more using an equalizer,..because the marantz is not able to handle as much power as the Pioneer model can....

Should i go for Polk Audio DB651 speakers, or Pioneer TS-D602P?

the pioneer ones. im jus saying that because pioneer speakersare clearer than the other speakers out there. i persoanlly have a pioneer deck,6 by 9" 3 way 300 watt speakers and 6" speakers and 18" sub nd three pioneer amps and to tell you the truth i don't think you can get anything better than pioneer.

Which are better door speakers, Memphis or Pioneer?

Hmmm! So Memphis makes several different lines of speakers as well as Pioneer. I have had the pleasure of listening as well as selling both these brands for over 30 years! To say one is better than another is misleading at best. There are so many factors to consider before dissing one or the other. I was a Memphis direct dealer for 20 years before they made some unrealistic demands on how much product they wanted me to sell at my shop so we parted company. This opened many new doors to check out a lot of other brands. I was a staunchly loyal Memphis dealer for decades to the point where I thought Memphis could do no wrong, then I started selling many different brands and noticed there is a whole world out there. Memphis does make some great speakers but so does Pioneer. Go to a couple dealers and listen for yourself in your price range and make an educated decision.
