Did Janey and Cady have sex when they were in the forest to have her picture taken? Janey does touch his bare chest, etc. But the scene leaves the viewer to wonder.

Synopsis:
In New Zealand, the teenager Janey (Alicia Fulford-Wierzbicki), her young brother Jim (Aaron Murphy), her mother Kate (Sarah Peirse) and her father Ed (Alistair Browning) are spending their summer vacation in a seaside cottage. Janey takes care of Jim most of the time, teaches him how to have endurance under the water, and observes the behavior of her parents, whose marriage is near the end. Why can't plants grow in rain forests?

There's SO MUCH biodiversity that there remains very little nutrient supply in the soil. My ecology professor once told us that if we ever go to the rainforest and have to go to the bathroom, stay and watch it! Cause all kinds of animals and organisms come so quickly to exploit any extra nutrients. Kind of gross, but it's true. There is so much life being supported that there is nothing left over.

On top of that, plants find it hard to grow there because the canopy layer of trees blocks out all sunlight below, preventing smaller trees from getting enough sunlight to photosynthesize and survive. That's why when a tree falls there is a race for other trees to grow quickly to the top and get into that empty patch.

Rich soil, it might be a possibility, but while rich soil might allow to grow bigger leaves since nutrients aren't a limiting factor we assume that some "other biomes" will have rich soil too. So while possible this isn't that likely.

Are growing seasons short in a rainforest? It would help to know if this particular rainforest is tropical or not. A rain forest doesn't have to be tropical, it just has to rain a lot. But most people refer to tropical rainforests, so let's assume that's what it is. If it is a tropical rainforest then we can use the same conclusions about answer E.

So there is D left to consider. Is it darker on the forest floor of a tropical rain forest than e.g. on a meadow? Yes or no?
