Has anyone read 'Divergent'?
Divergent was terrible and was clearly only written to cash in on the now popular dystopian young adult novel genre. Overly special heroine, attractive bland love interest, factions that will surely churn out marketable merchandise. Tris is extremely generic and so selfish. I feel like Katniss and her attitude problem in the Hunger Games was what made her more human and therefore a better character than Tris. Katniss had flaws and they were addressed well. Once again, Divergent is terrible, I only read the first book and did not read the rest. If a book doesn't make me feel anything in the first page I consider it a terrible book the only reason I finished book 1 of Divergent is because I wanted my honest opinion of it to be taken seriously instead of "You didn't read it so you don't get to bash it!!!".

What is your review of Insurgent (2015 movie)?
★★★★★I saw the film this afternoon as an "end of term treat" for my 12-year-old daughter.In my opinion, it was better than the first film in the trilogy, though I can't really explain why I feel this way. (It may be as simple as that I saw this in IMAX 3D and saw Divergent on an iPad, so of course it's going to be a better experience... though I think that Insurgent benefited from not needing to spend much time explaining the premise, but could just assume that everyone had seen the first movie.)Having read the book, I can't help feel that the storyline was a little, if you'll pardon the pun, divergent from the original.A few times I felt that the cinematography was odd (nothing in focus), but that's a minor niggle in an otherwise beautiful film.But, as my daughter summed it up, "it was awesome."

Divergent, insurgent, or allegiant?
Divergent, hands down, it kind of all went down hill from there for me. Insurgent was okay, but Tris kind of became holy or than thou/ thought her sh t smelled like roses. Four was really whiny and very much an @sshole. In alliegent his whinning and overall just mopy patheticness just consumes what ever likability he had left. Same with her, her head was so far up her own but at this point, and than Veronica Roth, the author deciding to randomly make four a narrator was a bit bizarre. It's kind of sad, for me the series started of on such a high note with Divergent. Though admittedly Tris was never going to be a favorite of mine, her not forgiving Al to me was disheartening. And Veronica showed off an ability to almost randomly kill of characters, or have characters act out of character. (the whole Al betrays her never sat right with me, he couldn't harm a fly, he purposely lost fights! And than all of a sudden he's a would be murderer?) But still this series started with so much.
Can I read insurgent without reading divergent?
i kinda got the hang of divergent by watching the movie and so i don't want to read divergent because it is spoiled for me by the movie so can i read insurgent without reading divergent?
What did you think of Divergent and is it worth reading the next 2 books in the series?
I loved ALL 3 of them and cant wait to read the final book, Four :) It is a little less "action" paced, but I think that's because of everything the characters went through in the 1st book that the author is giving the reader insight into the internal conflict of the characters and how the situations have changed them and how it affects them, their decisions and how those decisions affected the outcome of the actual conflict of the "factions", the "factionless" and the "bureau of genetics". Of course they aren't the same they went through a lot as teenagers and had to face adult situations and so the author is just letting us see how they have changed and what lead up to those changes....

Grammatical error in insurgent? can someone please explain?
I am reading the book insurgent right now and I've come across something that has me puzzled. I'm pretty sure the book is in present tense, but I read a sentence in past tense. "The edge of the chair bites into my palms. I was squeezing it harder than I thought." -insurgent 155 Is this an error? I'm just surprised by this, can someone explain? Thanks
Insurgent, by Veronica Roth, book summary?
Okay so well I read Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth quiet a while ago, and now that the new book to the series, Allegiant, is out, I have no idea what happened in Insurgent. I tried reading the first few pages of Allegiant, but I was confused because the story picks up where it left off in Insurgent. So can you please give me a brief summary on what happened in the second book please? I just need to refresh my memory on what happened :/ THANK YOUUU <3
